Ragged Mountain Veterinarian

We recently moved to Plainville and were looking for a veterinarian for our newly adopted cat, Grey. What initially drew us to Ragged Mountain were the hundreds of positive reviews, and they were absolutely spot on! From the moment we stepped foot in the door, the staff was so welcoming and kind. Dr. Falbowski and her technician were extremely thorough, took the time to answer all of our questions, and made sure Grey was as comfortable as possible during his appointment. We are thrilled with the care we received at Ragged Mountain and know we made the right choice when looking for a veterinarian!

I took my dog here on Jan 11,2024, for a second opinion after being suggested by a Vet Hospital to euthanize him! Best decision I've ever made! Dr. Shapiro is amazing! As soon as she walked in the room to see him she said he does not look like he is in grave state as noted in the medical records from the Vet Hospital. Dr. Shapiro said he has Degenerative Disc Disease and would like to treat it with pain management meds and laser therapy before considering surgery. My dog started to show improvement quickly. He went from being limp in all four limbs to running for the first time on Jan 24, 2024. The whole experience at Ragged Mountain was like day and night compared to the way we were treated at the Vet Hospital. The entire team from receptionist to the aids are amazing and compassionate. I am forever grateful to Dr. Shapiro and her team.

Absolutely love, Dr. Shapiro and staff. My dog gets her yearly here. Today, we needed an emergency appointment for a check on a dog bite injury that opened and needed care and a better bandaging than I can do. The tech and Dr Shapiro did an amazing job of keeping my girl calm despite a little resistance from her. They were awesome explaining where her healing was at and what to expect and how

Dr. Shapiro goes above and beyond to ensure your pet’s comfort, safety, and wellbeing. She always personalizes our visits to exactly what each specific pet needs. She is very knowledgeable and isn’t afraid to think outside the box. Best vet experience I’ve had in the area in the past 10 years. I tell anybody asking for vet recommendations about them. You won’t find this type of care in any of the corporate animal hospitals. 10/10

Everyone was pleasant and professional, the hospital is clean with spacious exam rooms and our appointment was on time. They handled my pet appropriately and I felt her exam was thorough with no undue stress. Quite happy with the move to this practice.

We needed to find a new vet for my dog. My dog was abused and neglected before we adopted her and she has anxiety issues. Our OLD vet wanted to drug her to almost a catatonic state so we needed to find a new vet. Ragged Mountain staff understood and made her visit as low stress as possible. Our dog was happy at the end. We are very happy we found Ragged Mountain.

Prompt, caring and compassion care provided by the doctors and staff. Both Dr Shapiro and Dr Falbowski have seen our cats and provided the best of care each time. Thank you for looking out for our feline friends!

Took my 12 week old puppy for his first checkup. While the doctor gave my puppy his shots the vet tech was hugging him and talking to him sweetly in his ear as he wagged his tail and didn't notice he received two vaccines. The are truly gifted animal lovers. They want nickel and dime you on care and vaccines if you need an additional vaccine or treatment you just pay a small vet tech fee instead of an exam fee with the doctor. It's definitely worth the 40-minute drive each way for me. Thank you Ragged Mountain

Dr. Shapiro and vet techs, Anthony and Danielle are amazing!! All staff are just awesome as I don’t want to leave anyone out. I have been using Ragged mountain since 1990 when owned by Dr. Toby Kimm. They are very kind and compassionate. They listen to you and truly care about your pets health. Highly recommend!

I couldn’t be happier with the care that my dog received by Dr Brooks and Anthony in 2022.

Dr. Brooks is genuinely caring and takes the time to carefully “listen” to all of your concerns and address them. He works with you on the best plan of care for your pet which is so comforting.

In my 40 years of having pets I have never come across a veterinary technician who comes close to having the knowledge and compassion that Anthony has. He is truly outstanding!!!

Update: My dog recently had an appointment with Dr. Shapiro this week. Dr. Shapiro and her entire team are very professional, caring, and knowledgeable. It is clear that Dr. Shapiro has true compassion for the animals under her care! I am so grateful to have them caring for my dog Summer !!!

It was our first time with Ragged Mountain and I was VERY, VERY pleased. Dr. Pamela Shapiro is awesome. She took the time to explain things to me in detail. She wasn't the type to take your money and rush you out the door! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Onyx and I are so happy we found the right fit! I would recommend to anyone to take their furbabies to Ragged!

I am very pleased with the care Sissy and Baby get at Ragged Mountain. We love our 2 French Bulldogs and only want the best for them.

Our appointments have always been a pleasant experience, greeted by friendly, courteous and competent staff. The examinations are very thorough, providing informative explanations of diagnostic procedures and testing.

I can't imagine a veterinary clinic being any better than Ragged Mountain! I have three dogs and they are all well cared for by them.

We cannot say enough about Ragged Mountain. The staff and veterinarians are top notch. We recently had a life threatening emergency with one of our pups and were shocked at the level of care and compassion that everyone in the office displayed. Our Ruby girl is literally alive and still with us because of them. ❤

My Jingles is not feeling well. I feel good knowing he is in capable hands and I'm not worried. He's there now getting some more fluids. Hope he's feeling much better today.
