I really loved this place! A simple but very good French cuisine, nice atmosphere, not too fancy but not cheap, and it's right in the center of West Hartford! We had a very tasty rotisserie chicken, canned clams and a duck sandwich. I just loved the duck sandwich and would recommend it to anyone! It has a perfect combination of jam, duck and fresh veggies. Will definitely come back to try the beef bourguignon and ratatouille.

I do wish it was possible to book a table there though.

Delicious!! Big portions for “individual” servings. Beef Bourguignon, Rotisserie Chicken, Bread, Coffee, Ice Cream- all amazing and our waitress was awesome. Only complaint- food got cold quickly and wish the coffee came out warmer! Will definitely be back though! 😋

Fabulous French restaurant with unique to the region fare. Fig prosciutto tarte was delightfully sweet on buttery crust. Beef bourguignon is was hearty and savory, worthy of best-of-store status. Rotisserie apple crisp with Arethusa cream almost crunch ice cream was a phenomenal mix of smoky apple, crunchy granola, and velvety ice cream. Wonderful welcome by our sever Patrick. Great time.

What a great addition to West Hartford the center of the universe. I've eaten here already a half a dozen times now. Yesterday was the first time I tried a sandwich. Got the duck and omg it was phenomenal. Met a buddy of mine for lunch and we each got that and shared the fries. My boys are already excited to try it next time we come.
So far I've had the beef bourguignon stew the chicken stew (coq a vin) and both were great. The beef is my favorite though and reminds me of when I took French in grade school and created this dish back then. I did not have the skills of this chef though.
The chicken was wonderful. Steak tartar is mouth watering. The fries are cooked perfectly and I love the special sauce with mayo (they also have ketchup)
One day I also got the gin drink and that was special
So many things to try.

My God. This place is amazing. It’s like three wonderful places all in one - fantastic arethusa ice cream/cheese/dairy, an amazing bar with delightful cocktails and an extensive digestif list, and wonderful French food. We wanted to try the entire menu but settled on the beef tartare (with fried capers and a quail’s egg!), beets with goat cheese and pistachios, fig/Brie tarte, and honey nut squash with arethusa yogurt, pistachios and quinoa. So good, will return to try one of the exciting croques.

Le Mazet was a nice last minute dine-in option that turned out to be a great way to wind down the day. With a mix of outdoor seating options, and indoor booth and chair configurations, we chose to sit at one of the bar seating options, warming ourselves by the rotisserie. The xeres negroni was a wonderful starting drink, nailing the Italian classic that typifies a clean, refreshing, but bittersweet palate cleanser. The other drink I sampled (courtesy my generous friend) was the smoked black tea old fashioned that reminded me of the summery delight of an iced tea with a tinge of syrupy goodness. The staff was very friendly, patient with our questions, and eager to know our opinions on menu items, particularly after we had asked for their recommendations. The "Le Sandich: Poulet Roti" was expectedly delicious --- the combination of brioche buns, Arethusa's europa (dutch gouda) cheese, and slow-roasted rotisserie chicken are mouth-watering. The "Le Croque: Poulet" was also very good based on the bite shared with me, with french-toast like bread paired with the subtle nutty flavor, and gooey and cheesy texture of the "crybaby" Arethusa cheese. Each of these came with a salad also topped with cheese shreds. However, these salads paled in comparison to the roasted beet salad (not pictured) that even the most staunch protestor of eating beets as a child should venture sampling. I knock the atmosphere only because it is distracting having the Point-of-Sale terminals right next to you while you sit at the bar by the rotisserie and while servers are punching in menu items and orders, or clocking out for the night. I'll be back for the dessert.

Absolutely lovely little spot in West Hartford! The waitstaff was super friendly and the decor felt like you were in an actual French cafe. The food was also delicious, lots of options, there is definitely something for everyone. I often find issues with eating at French restaurants due to the lack of vegetarian options but there were plenty here. Overall, I highly recommend going here for a cute date night.

Great vibe to this new restaurant in West Hartford

The food was amazing

The steak tartare was exquisite the onion tart, melted in your mouth, and the rotisserie chicken was to die for moist and flavorful. Everything was absolutely delicious.

The coq au vin was hearty filled with exquisite spices and flavors

Creative cocktails, and an awesome wine list

Add to the list, fresh Arethusa ice cream
For dessert

We had my birthday dinner at Le Mazet last night and had the BEST time! The food was delicious, atmosphere was so cute & cozy, and our waiter Patrick was awesome. My best friend was hesitant about going to a French restaurant, and she kept going on and on about how wrong she was. Everything Patrick recommended was incredible; the beef bourguignon, bone marrow appetizer, duck sandwich etc. Don't be afraid to try something new, we absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back!

Have had dinner here three times, and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. Boisterous atmosphere, a nice mix of affordable comfort foods and high-end luxury, a killer wine and cocktail list, and so far impeccable service. Surprisingly generous portions. Also ordered their Thanksgiving dinner to reheat and serve to some fairly picky out-of-towners. Ordering and pickup was a breeze. The food got raves from everyone. Quickly becoming the place to be in West Hartford center (along with Union Kitchen!). Weekends are crazy with long wait times during prime time (no reservations!), so I recommend checking it out on a weeknight.

The 9pm seating for New Year’s Eve was outstanding! Everything exceeded my expectations! The servers were all very nice and hospitable. The food was excellent, a raw bar and charcuterie spread, followed by a delicious four course meal, complimentary bottles of Champagne, depending on your party size, special cocktails, music and dancing. A great and fun way to bring in the new year. This was my first visit and certainly will not be my last!

Went here for the first time for dinner. We enjoyed a Rose Gimlet, Ethiopian coffee, Fromage en croute, and an entree of steak and fries. Well portioned meals, attentive staff, and pleasant atmosphere. I would recommend and cannot wait to return.

Good ambience! Bread is amazing, great salad, cocktails are outstanding. Best cocktails in west Hartford center!

Only con is it’s slightly more on the expensive side for portions, but overall positive experience and will definitely go back

recently tried Le Mazet and came back a second time a week later to bring our friends because we liked it so much - the atmosphere is very fun and we loved the idea of the stew coming out on the table and being able to share it. We thought the menu was very unique and a nice change of pace from your regular restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the chicken and beef stews, the duck sandwich, and the grilled cheeses and are excited to try more items from the menu. We think this is a great addition to West Hartford center, definitely will be returning and recommending to others! (Also we love that they have arethusa ice cream for a dessert option!)

The drinks here are FANTASTIC! They're skilfully crafted like art. Ally is the brains behind the drink recipes, and they taste luxurious! Tonight, I stopped in specifically for the Violet Milk Punch.

Our bartender Jake was gracious enough to let us sample two new drinks (Cosmo Punch and the Masala) that Ally recently crafted to compare to the Violet Milk Punch. All three tasted AMAZING!

I went with the Masala, which tasted like the smoothest winter holiday cocktail ice ever tasted. It was a well-balanced winter hug in a glass, perfectly balanced with spice, sweetness, and a light tartness. I could sip this all day. I'll be back for sure for more seasonal drinks and inspirations by Ally.

P.S. They serve food and ice cream here, which are also fantastic.

What a fabulous addition to the West Hartford restaurant scene. We had a first-rate dining experience here. I can only speak in superlatives about the quality of the food, wine, decor and service. I want to underscore how "accessible" this restaurant is all - regardless of whether one is already intimately familiar with French cuisine. There are ample choices on the menu in terms of ingredients, price and portion size. And the wine list is exceptionally varied and reasonably priced to encourage diners to "order the bottle." I can't wait to come back.

The food and cocktails were absolutely amazing - we had the fig tart, steak tartar, cheeseboard and I had the Bourgogne for dinner. The flavors were well balanced and everything tasted and looked amazing. The atmosphere is warm and intimate - exactly what I would expect from a French restaurant. So pleased with my visit and would absolutely visit again.
