How many times have you heard from one of your friends that they need to get something repaired on their car and they're worried about bringing it in to a shop because of how much it's going to cost or being worried about being 'taken for a ride' (and I do not mean that in the literal sense). Worry no more.

I was first introduced to Mike (the owner) and Steve (the service manager) because my 86-year-old father had a car that they were servicing. They could've really taken advantage of him, but they did not. I found them to be kind, understanding, patient and - above all - ethical. People like this have become rare.

If you need any type of work done, or if you need your emissions done, or if you're buying a used car from anywhere else and want them to take a look at it first (they will let you know if there's any major problems - and if it's safe for the road) - they offer that service as well.
I highly recommend them !

There are 2 great places in Newington to your car repaired and Mike’s is one of them. Mike’s been in business for over 30 plus years. Why? Because they are honest and do great work. I no longer live in Newington, but still bring my car to Mike’s when it needs a repair. Also, the guys that work the front desk are always polite and professional. And let’s not forget the folks actually doing the repairs, great work folks..

Had AC leak fixed. Service was very efficient and quick. Technician explained everything clearly.

I’m never going anywhere else for my car ever again. Mike’s is full of THE most kind and genuine service workers. I just bought a new car and was hearing some weird noises and asked them to check it out. They were able to squeeze me in between their other projects and help me out. Steve is so understanding and helpful.

Mike's is going to be my new auto repair place. After having a really bad experience with a local Dodge dealership, the people at Mike's restored my faith in honest and friendly service. It turns out the emergency brake job the dealership recommended for my truck (at double the price of Mike's estimate), wasn't such an emergency. I was contacted by the staff at Mike's telling me the situation wasn't an immediate repair but I decided to have brakes done as they were near the end of their life. They also found my stabilizer bar was in need of repair. The work was done in a flash..my truck runs great and I left the repair shop feeling confident that I did not get ripped off. The only thing is you have to wait to get an appointment to get this kind of service. Mike's reputation is not a secret and I'm probably extending my wait time for my next service call, but you have to praise the good guys in this world and Mike's is at the top of the list.

Mike's Auto is the best!! My car is 21 years old. Over the years,I have had a hard time finding places that would not take advantage of me! Mike's immediately set my mind at ease! Steve and Kyle who answered my phone calls were so patient with this older woman's concerns and many questions! Each time I came in, the general manager Cindy, came out to talk with me.They treated me like family!! 💖

I have only been a customer for two years but I am so happy I found Mikes Auto Service. I used to go to the car dealership and then was rudely treated by one of their employees. Not knowing a lot about cars I thought I was stuck because my car dash board had symbols that would show what Service was needed and when I needed it done. Out of frustration I called Mikes and they reassured me that they would know what needed to be repaired or serviced and even showed me how they could look it up. They have been very polite, patient and the cost of repairs is the same or even cheaper than the dealership. Thank you to all employees of Mikes Auto Service.

By far the BEST around. No games. No inflated prices or phony repairs & fixes just to make money. Steve up front won’t misguide you & Mike & Cindy are solid. An Auto repair garage like it should be. A Trustworthy establishment that took a while to find. I highly recommend them for everything from oil changes, emissions inspection, breaks, tires to transmission and beyond.

Mikes auto is excellent. They complete their work with quality and don’t try to rip you off like others out there. Everyone was super friendly and transparent throughout the entire process. Thank you guys!

I've used this business for emissions testing several times in the past few years, and it's always fast and easy. On the most recent visit, I was having trouble starting my car to leave (a recurring issue with the battery connectors, totally unrelated from the emissions test), and the guy who performed the test noticed and stuck around for a few minutes to help me fix my problem in a more permanent way than I had come up with.

I've always been happy with the service here, but that was an instance of really going above and beyond. Really impressed with this business, and happy to keep going back for future visits.

I'd had a great, trusted mechanic for 30 years but needed someone closer to my home for routine purposes. I relied on our facebook town page to find a new local person... and hit the jackpot with Mike's Auto. They were so accommodating, up front about the options I had for services, expenses and general advice on my vehicle. I even pulled in five minutes before closing time one Friday and they graciously helped me with plugging a tire -- over and above what I expected in the way of service for a newer customer. So grateful to find a business that I could trust and count on to take care of me and my auto needs.

My entire experience with Mike’s Auto, was worth me coming back to their shop again this month. As Stephen acknowledged my car has slew of concerns; I agreed to replace the exhaust sleeve first. Although they don’t specialize in auto body repair or flex pipe cutting; they were able to refer me to other reputable shops. I will always appreciate their consideration and assistance.

I cannot say enough great things about this company, but I'll try. The technicians (mechanics?) are skilled and thorough. (Unlike the dealership where I'd previously had my car serviced.) The service coordinator is knowledgeable, helpful, and seems genuinely interested in me being a satisfied customer. They do not make unnecessary repairs and TELL YOU when something is unnecessary.

Mike took my daughter's car in for emissions testing almost immediately, even thou his waiting room's seating was full. He had a professional demeanor, was fast & efficient. Mike's down to earth and welcoming.
This is the stuff on which our country was built, on good old fashioned hard work of independent proprietors, usein a bit of elbow grease, mixed with their own heart & soul, which succeeds in making our own neighborhoods strong and healthy.

Had many awards inside the shop. The young guy behind counter was very honest and knowledgeable about my Subaru. If he was just interested in money, he would of told me just to bring it in. But they are backed up with work, which must mean they get a lot of business (or they are short mechanics) either way he called me back same day and referred me to someone else. Thank you!

My family has used Mike’s Auto for years, and they’re always great. They’re prompt, professional, and transparent when it comes to the work that needs to get done and the price so you aren’t caught off guard. I especially appreciate their COVID protocols which they’ve maintained throughout the pandemic in order to make sure clients are socially distanced and minimizing the amount of people in the lobby at one time. Customer service has always been great, and I remember one time Mike himself picked up my mom and dropped her off after when she needed a ride. He even helped inspect a car she was thinking of buying, and gave his honest opinion by saying “if it were my mother, I wouldn’t buy this car for her.” This is why we choose to support small businesses like Mike’s!!

Super friendly and helpful with auto maintenance questions. They are true car guys; not a corporate car shop. Emission inspections are in and out in 10 min.
