Relax The Back

I visited Relax the Back in search for an ergonomic desk chair. This is truly the only store where they truly recommend chairs based on the best fit for you and proper ergonomics. Betty is fantastic. She has since helped guide me in the purchase of two desk chairs that I’m sure will last a lifetime. Highly recommend visiting Relax the Back if you have back issues of any type. They also sell recliners, massage chairs and other ergonomic supports.

I bought a LifeForm desk chair years ago from this store. My experience with them was superb then and it has been the same today, when I called and asked about replacement casters for the chair. A quality experience all around!

This was absolutely an incredible retail experience accompanied by a happy back.
As someone who was in high end retail for over 30 years I was able to appreciate every nuance.
My first contact was with Jesse over the phone - 5 star experience although I thought the store still had a Greenwich CT physical store. I then spoke to Doug who is a regional manager who spent a considerable amount of time asking me questions about my husband’s back issues to determine which seat aide I should purchase to help remove the pain. Doug was totally transparent about everything.. at the end of the day I purchased the Travel Lite seat in Brisa in black onyx. Despite the lack of return option because I did not purchase online, I purchased the seat from Doug and Jesse. When the sports chiropractor my husband has been seeing heard about the seat ….he told my husband he should thank me for getting the perfect seat for him!

This has been one of the best things we've ever purchased.

Purchased a zero gravity chair at RTB and it is beyond beautiful and has helped so much with back pain I was experiencing prior to having it. I am a therapist and sit most of the day for work and this was definitely worth the investment! Jah was so helpful and transparent when it came to choosing a chair that was right for me. Above 5 Star service. With our local store having closed, we called a store 90 miles away to help with a needed repair (after 9+ years of near-constant usage) on a zero gravity chair. Jesse Hogan sprung into action; he called the manufacturer, and is well on the way to solving our problem. He has been informing us of every step in the process. I did not think customer care responsiveness like that does not exist anymore. Cannot recommend this store more.

Salesperson, Store Manager and Owner deliver customer service, quality, and relief

I suffer from near-debilitating pain from spinal stenosis and sciatica and add to that myopathy that resulted from a five-month hospital stay. Finding relief was an ongoing and frustrating challenge.
I'm 6'4", weigh 240 lbs., and was searching for a chair that provided firm support, heat, zero gravity position, lumbar support, button controls, quality, and most importantly, would fit my height and body proportions.
After shopping Ethan Allen, Crate & Barrel, Raymour & Flanigan, La-Z Boy, Ashley, Serta, Costco, Macy's, and many other stores, we found nothing that delivered the relief I was desperate to find. As frustrating, the customer service was sorely lacking in those stores - selling me a chair was more important than meeting my needs.
We recently moved to West Hartford and driving down Farmington Ave decided to stop in. Jesse greeted us and gave us time to walk the store then approached us asking what we were looking for and why. He then had me try several chairs. There was no rush, no hawking us, no pressure, and he allowed us to take time sitting in each chair; then we were shocked to find the chair! Jesse jumped right in to provide us with chair details, colors, inventory, warranty, delivery dates, and everything we could imagine needing to ensure it was the right choice. We left the store without buying to discuss the purchase. Jesse followed up with a phone call to ensure we had what was needed but did not assert any pressure.
Shortly after, we returned to make the purchase. Jesse wasn't in, but Betty, the store manager, greeted us warmly and had me again sit in the chair - I was momentarily disappointed as the chair wasn't as long as I recalled, but Betty recommended another chair that I sat in for 30ish minutes. The Human Touch Gravis is the chair of the century.
Betty followed up via phone to confirm all chair details and to schedule delivery. We had special needs which made the purchase/delivery somewhat unusual - Betty listened and made the accommodations without hesitation. Wow! Customer service still exists.
The chair arrived a few days later by a gentleman who knew the chair inside and out and the owner. Quite surprised to have the owner arrive and help with the set-up. It's clear he gets great satisfaction from seeing his customers smile.

These are chairs of the highest quality and the prices reflect what you'd expect; the experience, service, and personalization made them worth every penny. I can't thank the team for the gift of comfort, thank you! A bed is next on the list...

The owner Doug at Relax the Back knew everything about the X-Chair x3 and x4 models I was looking online at purchasing. I ended up picking the x3 and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Even though the x4 cost more, Doug encouraged me to go with the chair that made me happy and I think that says a lot about the kind of honest service you'll get from their store. Sat for a free massage in the chairs, the staff are knowledgeable and very nice. Didn't try to sell us too hard and let us try different things out.

This store has some really life changing ergonomic devices. Visiting the store itself is an experience in itself. The sales people are patient, friendly, and never pushy. I trust there advice, and I'm very happy with their recommendation on the massage chair i purchased - it's a great product i use everyday, and the installation was smooth. The products are exceptional and just testing the medical grade massage recliners relieved my back pain and had me feeling refreshed for the entire day!
