Free nature path open to the public, it's just over a mile, mainly flat easy walk, a little buggy with the water, suggest bug spray, good trail for most people. Careful with small children, not wheelchair friendly.

Lots of interesting and educational things to see. We loved the two owls.

A very wonderful place to hike, explore, and learn! I love the museum attractions like the birds of prey exhibit as well as the pet snake and turtle they keep inside. Ongley pond behind the museum is also beautiful as I always see many turtles and ducks there. My favorite attraction here is the ice house trail and observation deck. Seeing the old foundation and canal for the ice house is remarkable, and the views of Bantam Lake can’t be beat! The Butternut Brook trail is also very interesting since you can see the back of the Litchfield Distillery from the trail. Their sensory nature trail and kayak launch is also worth a try. Can’t say enough good things about this place!

Great camping area for groups!!!
Always such great time here in nature.
Ready access for kayaks and trails.
They also host many learning events you can take advantage of.
In the holiday season they also have the best Santa visits ever...

Awesome conservation center. Came in on a saturday afternoon. The museum is full of historical information and cool life size taxidermy diorama scenes. Lots of informative/educative displays. Well worth the $6 admission fee to help support animal and land conservation. Plenty of trails and areas to walk/explore.

Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful, well-maintained trails. Interesting to learn and see ruins from ice industry in the early 1900's. We did not go into the museum where there was a charge.

Loved the mini museum lots of taxidermy animals & kids can get list of animals to scavenger hunt. My kid loved it & I thought it was awesome how all animals were native to ct and they made displays of animals in habitats. Outside grounds are beautiful and have rescued owl in a large cage. They have 2 cages for rescued large birds but only 1 was occupied when came this time. Price to go in museum was reasonable too.

There is a lot to do at White Memorial. They have something for everyone. You can find any trail, or combination of trails, to meet any length walk you are looking for. None of them are very strenuous. Most trails are bike friendly as well. I would stop by the Conservation Museum if you are open. Their exhibits are worth the few dollars.

4000 acres of natural wonder experience featuring trails, workshops, gift shop and museum.
Experience nature at it's best!
The boardwalk trail around the pond featuring a bridge, boardwalks and amazing views is my favorite for many years now.
Come experience God's glory in creation...Romans 1:20
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

40 miles of well maintained trails through forests and around multiple ponds, streams, a lake and a river. Some trails are just for hiking while others allow bikes and horses. Kayaking also allowed in the waterways. All free and open year round. There is a $6 fee if you want to visit the nature museum. It is a great little museum with taxidermied native animals in dioramas as well as exhibits of geology, astronomy, ecology, biology etc. Lots of live wildlife to view from the boardwalks. Picnic benches are also available to use for free. There is also a marina and campgrounds that I did not visit on my first outing here.

If you love the outdoors, this place is for you. I hiked several trails. There was ample parking and a museum. Comfort stations (Pit toilets) were available for use. Some trails are interpreted with QR codes. The board walk around the pond was fun. I highly recommend this if you need a little outdoor get away.

There arent a ton of high overlook views, but the preserve itself is my favorite by far. The many of the trails are wide and make for great biking. You can see through the forest under the pines, the walks through the wetlands are magical and the smells of the forest are amazing. There is an owl and a hawk you can quietly admire in their large cages by the museum. I keep walking though clouds of sweet grape smell when I'm here, what is it!

White Memorial is one of my all time favorite places in Litchfield County! So many beautiful trails to explore at all experience levels, the museum and activities for children are stellar, we loved hosting our son's birthday party here too. I'm so grateful the White family had the foresight to make this incredible gift for generations to come.

This is a beautiful place to pack a lunch with your family and enjoy the positive things in life. Make memories. They have many beautiful trails, a amazing boardwalk let me add has no railings and is very narrow so if you have children it's hard to push a stroller on it or a wagon. They have a museum that's very I interesting, offer alot of educational events with animals and nature. They also have a owl and a hawk that were injured and are being cared for by them for many years now. It's a place to see yourself. Bring the cooler the family, horses, dogs.
