Kingsley Tavern

Stopped for a late Saturday lunch. Delicious, homemade soups, excellent and tasty salmon burger. Fine mixed drinks. Would highly recommend.

The Kingsley Tavern is my favorite restaurant in Kent. Fantastic drink and food. The Poutine brings a a satisfying comfort to my soul. Fish Tacos are super tasty and not too heavy. My wife thought the Burrata was aweseom. Dig it all!

Last minute plans for an anniversary dinner after hiking nearby. What a great find. This place hits the trifecta of great food, service and low key yet warm atmosphere. We will be back!

My wife and I stopped in on our visit to Kent and we absolutely loved Kingsley Tavern! We sat at the bar and enjoyed some good local beers and they even had a whiskey I've had trouble finding lately. We decided to stay and the bar to eat and the food was awesome! Scallops were some of the best I've ever had. The bartender was outstanding and a lot of fun. We made several new friends at the bar as everyone was having a great time. Would definitely return on a future visit. Highly recommend.

Kingsley Tavern was cute and delicious! I ordered a cup of their new england clam chowder which had bacon in it!!! Loved it! Ate it too quickly to take a picture of! Then had chicken and waffles which were also really good! Had a bloody caesar to drink which was great, loved the clam juice in it!

We are frequent customers of Kingsley Tavern and can't speak highly enough about the quality of the food, the caring service (shout out to Tony, Amanda and the team) and the overall comfortable vibe of the experience. There are so many highlights on the menu but its the specials that are, indeed, special. Most of the time we order the fish special, although when its chilly out there is always something warming and filling on the specials menu. The portions are excellent, sometimes bordering on too much (but always tasty). Sleeper pick off the main menu: avocado tacos (my son orders this every time, its his favorite - deep fried avocado with all the fixings - it is truly excellent, maybe more so than my description). The bar is exceptionally well stocked and creative, excellent spirits list and creative wine list. In the springtime/summer and fall, there is nothing more pleasant than sitting outside on the porch or in the courtyard. Bravo, Kingsley Tavern!

Very nice rustic atmosphere, great service, and some very nice menu choices made for an enjoyable evening. The Iberico pork tenderloin was cooked perfectly , and the chicken of the woods app was a delicious combo of flavors. My wife had the Fluke special which was cooked to perfection. This is our new favorite place.

I love the Kingsley Tavern. It’s team is great, always full of friendly faces, and the food is delicious. Can’t go without trying the Poutine.

A great brunch spot. The menu boasts a mixture of traditional and somewhat adventurous dishes. The four times we've been there the food has been great: you can tell all ingredients are fresh and the portions are pleasantly healthy.

The restaurant is clean and has a cozy and reasonably quiet atmosphere, even when busy. I love that they don't pack the tables so close together that you're virtually eating with strangers. Above all the service is exceptional. The waitstaff are highly professional but still open and friendly.

Definitely worth a visit.

Update: After coming here 5+ years updating this review to an easy 5 stars. The experience is consistently excellent. All the staff (bartenders/servers/host/bus/kitchen) are amazing. Tons of locally sourced ingredients. The food always tastes wonderfully fresh, the beer is always beautifully cold, the cocktails are imaginative and delicious. Best menu and dining experience in NW Connecticut.

Nice menu selection, featured some meats raised on their own farm. Cheeseburger w very tasty salad. Good cocktail.

The burrata with honeycomb/truffle oil/figs and absinthe-steamed mussels were some of the best starters I’ve ever had 🤤🤤🤤

Had a wonderful experience having brunch here yesterday. The food was delicious (definitely more on the savory brunch side), they do not joke around with their mimosas (more like Prosecco with a splash of OJ) and the boozy hot chocolate was equally strong and delicious. Everyone was very kind, even as they dealt with my large, loud family. And even though it was cold outside, the heaters on the porch kept us warm. Will definitely return!

I'm sure they don't need another stellar review, but I have nothing but great things to say. The food is always top-notch, the restaurant is in a great location, and I'm so happy to be a local with access to such a great place to eat!

IMHO one of the best restaurants in CT. Located in picturesque Kent, CT it is fun to get to. Professional staff with a bohemian vibe.
Wonderful imaginative menu covers food and cocktails. Local ingredients abound. Brunch is a hit. Try to get porch or deck dining in spring summer.
The kitchen staff is not resting on its laurels here!

I had such a great experience here tonight. When there was a misunderstanding about my reservation, the staff worked really hard to make sure we would still be accommodated. On such a busy night I know how hard that was and they went above and beyond. The food - especially the Mac and cheese - was so good and the service was great. We’ve always had good experiences here in the past and tonight was no exception. We can’t wait to be back!
