We came here for my wife's birthday and we were not disappointed!
From the quaint nice atmosphere to the attentive staff which I say went above and beyond!
I think it was the owner who waited on us and she was delightful.
We had a cocktail, the peach drop was so good ... highly recommend.
The bread they give you is so crispy and addicting, especially with that beet sauce they give you.
My wife had the French onion soup and she said it was one of the best she had.
She also ordered the chicken picatta with lemon capers and no complaints.
I had the blackened salmon with homemade mashed potatoes and snow peas..let's just say I had a happy plate with nothing left to speak of!
I highly recommend this place..well worth your time and your stomach will thank you.

raveling through the area and stumbled upon this restaurant. We arrived at 815 p.m., and the restaurant closes at 9 pm. We didn't want to bother the restaurant staff, so we're were initially rushing to put in our order. However, our waitress was absolutely outstanding and told us not to worry and that we had plenty of time! She was incredibly warm and knowledgeable of the menu as well.

The food arrived shortly after placing our order and was deliciously hot (temperature) and flavorful. The bread, our appetizer, meals, and desserts were delicious. We enjoyed every single bit.

Furthermore, the restaurants atmosphere was incredibly friendly and clean. We wish we didn't live so far away so that we could be regulars there. Highly recommend going if you live close by or are passing through!

It was my first time and one of thee best dinners I've had in Connecticut. My parents have never had a bad meal here either. If you're down by the shore, I highly recommend Nancy's Rosemary & Sage. This quaint little place has high-quality fresh food cooked just right. Very impressed!

Wonderful restaurant and the owner, Nancy is so thoughtful and attentive checking on all the tables. We went for lunch and I got one of the specials, eggplant parm with my choice of pasta (I chose angel hair) The portion was HUGE! It makes me wonder how big the dinner portion is. The eggplant was nice and thin and not greasy at all-it tasted wonderful. I can't wait to return and try some more items.

I’ve worked in old saybrook over 4 years and have been hunting for a place that serves more than a plain basic salad in the area. I’m blown away by the presentation and QUALITY of this Cobb salad. My new go to place I’m so excited!

Found this hidden gem. Nancy is so sweet and welcoming. Had delicious specials. Drinks are excellent. Ordered takeout before. All the food has so much flavor. Really yummy bread with dip is included. Great service.

Love Rosemary and Sage- Nancy is wonderful and enjoyable! We love sitting at the bar to eat but the atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice. We also love that Nancy offers small plate options.
My favorite is the Shrimp with artichokes, sun dried tomatoes and spinach over pasta! DELICIOUS

Best food and drink in old saybrook. The owner nancy and her staff give the best welcome to everbody.

The restaurant was EXTREMELY accommodating, arranging for our family to eat outside even though they're not serving outside yet. We have a family member who isn't comfortable inside because he in immunocompromused and they couldn't do enough for us...putting 2 heaters on and cleaning off a table that hadn't been used in months. AND the food was all good and reasonably priced!!!

Enjoyed a delicious dinner and cocktails - highly recommend!! We had the pleasure of meeting Nancy, owner, who was also our server - she was fantastic!! It was pretty busy that Saturday night and all the staff were doing their best to ensure everyone's best experience - I give so much credit to the owners and staff of all restaurants who are doing all they can with reduced staff!! We'll be back - thanks again, Nancy - we appreciated your hospitality!! 😊

Wonderful dining experience at this hideaway in Old Saybrook. Food was amazing. We had a seafood casserole this time. Every time we’ve been in have had a wonderful meal. Nancy (owner) and waitstaff were so attentive and accommodating. We’ll be back soon!

Today we enjoyed our first meal at this gem of a restaurant. Nancy, the owner, epitomizes the gracious and enthused host, and we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated her guidance with menu selection, although I doubt there could have been a disappointing choice.
After a coconut shrimp appetizer, my husband enjoyed the sole Milanese and I the chicken Florentine.
While I almost never eat dessert, I understood that they were home made and unusual, and indeed they were! My husband had a coconut tart which reminded him of one he had enjoyed and longed for from his time in Thailand. I enjoyed the many berry crumble, served warm with ice cream. They were scrumptious!

If there is one thing I could change about this restaurant, it would be the interior, which is painted in mostly brown and mauve which I found dated the place and was a bit depressing. But I am an interior designer, and can't help but be influenced by my environment.

What a pleasant surprise. Not very impressive from the outside, the inside is very nicely adorned and the food and service was excellent, all three of our meals and appetizers hit the mark. Very fresh salads and seafood prepared perfectly. The deserts, however, were the star if the show, made by the owner the coconut tart and key lime pie were great!

Having just moved to the area three months ago, I was nervous about new places and going out alone. This restaurant is absolutely the best for personality (owner Nancy) best staff, always a fantastic meal and so welcoming. Nancy has made the move more welcoming and is a tremendous person! Highly recommend!!!

I stopped in, after driving from Albany, NY, to buy a gift certificated for my Aunt. I used the rest room and accidentally left my wallet with all my ID, credit cards and quite a bit of cash. I was panic stricken when I noticed hours later. I called the restaurant and they kindly told me they had it behind the bar in safe keeping. They didn't want to accept cash as a tip. They just wanted to do the right thing. I had chosen them because the owner Nancy was described as such a good person. All of the staff are! By the way, I noticed in my quick visit how lovely the dining room and bar area was. This is the type of restaurant you want to support. I look forward to going back some day!

Had another amazing meal at Rose mary and sage. I had the special whole belly clams with fresh snow peas and mashed potatoes and a beautiful dinner salad. The clams where so fresh and tasty. This is our family favorite restaurant, always friendly staff and great service. Great job Nancy!
