Loved this cute bookstore! It's so much bigger in the inside than it looks on the outside and there is a Cafe to the back and kids section upstairs. It is organized very well. Very easy to find what you are looking for. Love it!!

RJ Julia’s Bookstore is a gem! The cozy ambiance and diverse book selection make it a haven for book lovers. The tranquil atmosphere, coupled with the incredibly helpful staff, creates a delightful experience. My daughter and I spent a rainy day there, immersed in books and enjoying the peaceful environment. A perfect spot for book enthusiasts!

Such a small, cute bookstore! They had so many good books, chocolates, cards and a cafe in the back. I really enjoyed walking around this bookstore. The people were friendly and they had a nice winter section in the back with marshmellows, mugs, and candy cane chocolate for purchase. We bought some cards and will come back for books in the future!

I visited with my partner a few months ago and there is a reason for its reputation this place is impeccable. The staff are so friendly and always willing to give a great recommendation. The curation and selection are top notch and it looked like they had a cute cafe in the back.

Great vibes 10/10.

I have always enjoyed my trips to RJ Julia's and I go to the Middletown location frequently. Today however the cashier was beyond rude and needs a desperate refresher in customer service. When she asked if I had a customer account, I responded I have an account in Middletown. She snidely and condescendingly responded we aren't connected with them. Then, other staff again very rudely asked my party to move to the front of the store. I get there was a lot happening in the store, but the store staff was so rude. In Middletown the staff was always welcoming and helpful. Here I felt like the staff was aggravated by the crowd of customers.

Edit: I was surprised today to receive a call from the store manager, she was beyond accommodating and generous in her conversation with me. Her kindness and willingness to listen to my experience reminded me of why independent book stores are so vital for a thoughtful community. I'm amending my review. I understand they were having a hectic day and the fact the store manager took time to talk to me after leaving a less then stellar review is indicative of a store that really cares about their customers.

One of the best locally owned bookstores in the country. Madison's Little gem. The knowledgeable staff is always eager to help you find just the right book. The second floor has space where you can peruse through your selections before purchase. The cafe in the back Has great coffee, tea and other more substantial offerings. Grab lunch and take in the outdoor seating area. RJ Julia's is on the must-see list when visiting Madison

RJ Julia is a must-visit stop when you are in town. The staff is engaging and they know their literature. This is one of those time-honored, classic book shops that we need to stay open forever! The shelves are artfully stacked with books of every interest and flavor, and shelves are adorned with small, well-written introductions or summaries...enough to whet your literary appetite. I'm always captivated by the quality of the book choices that are offered, as well as an atmosphere that invites us to browse, question, and select books that we'll treasure. In the rear they have a small cafe in which one can have some coffee, tea, lunch, or dessert. We always love visiting this perfect bookstore!!

What a beautiful bookstore! As you might expect from an independent bookstore, the selection is carefully curated. We found some interesting books including a signed copy of a book I’d been wanting. They also had a great selection of gifts for readers. I picked up a fun pen. The atmosphere is welcoming and invites browsing.

Looking for a good book? Here's another independent bookstore to explore. Comfortable, friendly, well stocked. Staff recommendations. A cafe if you're hungry or thirsty. Give it a visit... you'll be glad you did!

This is a lovely book store featuring a wide variety of books, card, calendars and date books. Although we did not have anything at the Cafe, it looked very nice. The staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. I will be back!

Madison is so fortunate to have such a treasure of a store in town. There aren't many independent bookstores of this caliber left. The store has a fabulous collection on the shelves and if you can't find the title your looking for, they'll get it! You'll also find an exquisitely curated selection of gifts ideas. The cafe is delightful for a quick bite and a coffee as you thumb through your new book.
