Powerhouse Gym

Really awesome gym. All the positive reviews are spot on. Kind of an old skool vibe. This is where the serious minded train. I don’t think you will find the gym selfie TwerkTok instagarbage “influencers” here.
Customer service is top notch. Honest and down to earth. Also, the boxing coach Will is a gem. This place is 5 stars all around. I will definitely be back when I’m in town.

Great staff; John F is a motivational titan. His challenging antics only cause me and my crew to work harder. Plus, he’s the best dj behind the desk and that’s undisputed. Get that man a raise!

Awesome gym. Tons of equipment. Was there traveling through so stopped go check it out. Great energy. Owner was nice.

Lots of vintage equipment which we love including our favorite Nebula hack squat and leg press! There's quite a lot of space to move around considering the many choices for each movement. We visited on a day pass and hope to visit again soon!

Great gym with very nice staff! Was in the area for work and would definitely come back when I’m in town next. Would loved to get a shirt but between a day pass and shirt it would have been $65. Clean and well maintained with rare equipment!

Great gym and the brothers who own it are awesome! Hardcore with all the equipment you could imagine. A no joke gym for the experienced or beginner.

This gym is actually a horrible idea if you’re coming to fool around and waste time , this gym is for people who actually want progress in their life, otherwise go to planet fitness if you like pizza 🍕. Also John at the front desk represents what a REAL gym employee should look and act like . ENCOURAGING!!!!!

Substantial cardio eqiupment, most varied old school weight machines, best place in new haven to do legs with professional dealift platforms and squat racks. I love this place

Awesome gym, so glad I switched from InShape to here. This gym feels like an actual gym and not a high school full of yuppies. Best gym in the new haven county hands down.

One of the best gyms in the UNITED STATES . The front desk gentleman , welcomed me as a guest from Nashville , shook my hand and told me to come back . All the equipment then some more . This is a place where you come to grow . The other gym members are polite and friendly too . Clean very clean , so much space . Didn’t have to wait on equipment . Has all the old school training stuff and all the new stuff as well .
Truth is , the world needs more of these type gyms .

Literally the best gym I've ever been to. Hands down. Staff was amazing friendly, atmosphere is on point, and the equipment is to die for. I will absolutely be working out here again.

Powerhouse is amazing. I’ve been a member of every gym in the area and none of them come close to here.
You can always find a parking place without driving laps for a half hour. The staff is knowledgeable, encouraging, and always excited to help. All of the equipment is properly maintained, clean, and in great condition. I’ve only ever seen one machine “out of order” and it was fixed the next day. The entire building has an amazing energy,

Always wanted to try this gym out, went in today, pretty dope gym, front desk guys awesome. Everyone is friendly, a lot of equipment even though they look dated. Clean gym, can tell their is alot of history. Deff go back again someday.

This is the best gym I've ever been to, full stop. Was a member at multiple NY Sports Club locations in NYC as well as Blink Fitness before joining here and it's a whole different league -- literally, since actual bodybuilders and powerlifters train at Montanari Bros. It's not slick and sterile, it's not soft and pampering, it's a gym as gyms were meant to be. Also worth mentioning: very affordable rates, equipment is excellently maintained, management is incredibly friendly/helpful, environment is very upbeat and motivating.

If you're looking to train and actually transform your body, this is the place to go. The environment is a pick-me-up for anyone struggling with their weight or just wanting better results than they've already attained. More than enough equipment and short wait times if something is occupied - None of that using equipment as chairs. Darin, Rich, and Jerry are fantastic. They know just about every member by name and you truly become part of the family - I would encourage anyone to visit this gym.

An old school gym with a wide variety of machines, plenty of free weights, heavy dumbells, and a great atmosphere. Anyone serious about lifting needs to give them a visit. This is the best gym I have been to in Connecticut.
