The Grateful Bread Bakery and Cafe

Delicious! We went on a Tuesday morning. The wait was a little bit slow, but they apologized, and we weren't in a hurry. I enjoyed my biscuits and gravy, scone, and spiced chai. The portion size was generous, and I had leftovers for lunch.

My wife and I decided to stop in Helena on the way to Glacier a few months ago. Given that I really enjoy the Grateful Dead, this place immediately jumped out to me as a breakfast option. I also grew up in a deep biscuit loving culture, so I was ready to see what this place was all about, and I have to say, they passed with flying colors. The biscuit was delicious, as were the pastries.

People complain about the service time, but everything is fresh and handmade, so what are you expecting? Also, bonus points for the soundtrack.

Very nice staff, good coffee, and wide selection of treats to fullfill your inner cravings. Been several times. Although busy, staff always was kind and helpful. Large selection of bread loafs, scones, and soups; all affordable. My fav is the savory bell pepper scones! Sure - everrything costs more nowadays. But - all of thier offerings made with love and value. #worthit. A new 'go to' bakery in downtown Helena!

Had a great burrito here on this Saturday morning. We got the bacon one. The flavor was great, bacon was cooked perfectly. My husband loved the salsa Only thing was slightly smaller than I had hoped. Also got a day old cheese scone which was still great and discounted. My husband says the coffee was average but the hot chocolate was really good. The pick up window is an awesome idea. I can't wait until we can sit inside and enjoy. We will be back for lunch.

I work at St. Peter’s and we received meals which included chips, a drink, a cookie and a sandwich as a thank you to us for working during these trying times. I have to say not only was it incredibly sweet of them to do this, but their BLT was AMAZING and so, so generous. The chocolate chip cookie was also to die for; you could tell it was homemade. It had that sweet buttery smell and it warmed my tummy and heart. You guys earned yourself a lifelong customer! Thank you for all YOU guys do!

Very excellent bakery. They have the standards plus great extra bread choices. I recommend the cranberry walnut for the turkey sandwich. But they also include sandwich diversity such as bánh mì.

So delicious! I love this place because I know when I go that the produce is always fresh and tasty. Tomatos are perfect, lettuce is crisp, and the bread is superb! They really make the effort in the sammies to have delightful flavor combinations. The turkey sandwich is amazing and that cranberry creamcheese just gives it an extra flavor burst. The turkey is also amazing and not bland slimy coldcuts. Staff is friendly. Place is clean. A great lunch spot! Hearty, filling, totally satisfying.

Place Has great vibes. I'm coming from Texas and the prices are reasonable. Also they do Military discount! Thank y'all. Plus the workers were nice and thoughtful. The atmosphere was perfect with some smooth music in the background. 10/10 recommend

Stopped in this morning for a coffee, left with the most delicious cinnamon roll as well. This cafe is so inviting and cozy!

Got the grateful club which was huge, split it between two people, and the clam chowder. Both were delicious! We got a blueberry scone for next days breakfast, it was lightly sweetened - which I quite enjoyed. Very cute little bakery/cafe.

I had the garlic wedge salad, and it was honestly the best salad I’ve ever had!

We had the chef salad and it was super delicious and very big!! It had very flavorful ham on it (as well as bacon, Turkey and chicken) and the dressings are all homemade!
Then we had the cantaloupe cucumber spicy gazpacho (cold soup) and it was perfect!!
And very friendly service!!

Hands down, my favorite bakery and cafe in Helena. The owners are wonderful, and the staff are great. My favorite lunch is the Three B's Salad. All of the baked goods are yummy, and they even have gluten-free options.

The best clam soup ever! 😍 I also liked the chocolate espresso scone.

I love this place! They have the most amazing breakfast burritos I've ever had and the salsa is to die for! They do have great coffee too which I feel like is hard to find in Helena. The cost is also fair and you're not going to break the bank taking loved ones here!

10/10 one of mine and my partners favorite spots to stop and treat ourselves. I love their three b salad and the fast paced environment. Everyone is so sweet in there, and the food is top tier.

Stopped in for lunch. I have the spring pinoli salad, which was a perfect blend of ingredients and not too heavy. My partner had the Cubano which looked delicious. Ended the meal with the gf chocolate chip cookie that was still warm. Overall, great food and friendly service. Highly recommend.

Stopped back in for lunch and had the market fresh salad. The combination of greens, strawberry rhubarb compote, and strawberry poppyseed dressing was out of this world. Very creative and very delicious.

Drove by quite a few times and always chuckled at the name but never stopped in because it just looked so unassuming. We saw they were advertised as participating in the Downtown Helena Association Winter Festival and finally stopped in! A GREAT little place hidden in such an unassuming little corner building! Fresh baked items were amazing. We had a couple apple hand pies, a London Fog and a Spiced Chai. Great customer service even as they were training a new employee. Great atmosphere! Super cute and love how they support the local community with posting some flyers/posters and even had a table for the local flower shop selling Valentine's Day bouquets! They sell all kinds of pastries and even full loaves of bread. Very clean inside. Love the Grateful Dead décor in the Grateful Bread!
