Donatello's With A Twist

Been wanting to stop for sometime and finally did. Wish I had stopped sooner! Very friendly staff and amazing food. Check out their Facebook page for daily specials. Everything I sampled and purchased was delicious! The owner Jay was very pleasant and informative. Will definitely be going back again and again.

This is NOT your typical pizza place or Spanish food joint. They literally blow every restaurant in the same category in New london County and beyond out of the water! I was a traveling cook for 5 years and have taken interest in cooking since I was 8 so I'm pretty picky about where I eat as I'd rather make it myself because many places I've come across are mediocre. But not good Ole Donatello's! I am absolutely hooked! They always have amazing specials so I can order every day of the week seeing that im always stuck at work. The only days I dont order lunch/dinner is Sundays and Mondays because I dont have to work those days, and they're closed. Their portions are huge and well worth the price. I typically spend around $30-40 and get two meals out of it.

The food was excellent i got the pernil yellow rice and beans. It's how I judge a Latin restaurant for a first time visit. I'm at a loss for words as I'm eating it other than damn that's good. The green olives in the rice add that extra flavor. The dia de los muertos decorations were up adding a nice fall vibe. Im going back again for the Italian next.

Had a great steak and cheese sandwich and my husbands pastrami sandwich was amazing! The service from everyone was just delightful! Can't wait to go back for some PUERTO RICAN FOOD!!!!!!

Awesome food. Great ambiance and service. Lots of food for the money. We had Cuban, Italian, and American cuisine and it was all fantastic!

A Small, Lovely Comfortable Place that serves a HUGE Variety of Dishes! I had a Pepper Steak Mofongo, my Wife had a Bacon Wrapped Meat Loaf, fast service, CLEAN environment, Fantastic Staff, you need to check this out....no seriously, you do lol

I got pollo guisado, alcapurria (not pictured) and three beef empanadas. I have NEVER been disappointed with anything I have ordered here. I'm originally from NJ and there is a large Puerto Rican population there and this food reminds me of home. I highly recommend any and all things Puerto Rican here. The Mac n cheese is also amazing, and they make really good grinders as well. You can never go wrong

So bussin bussin, the staff was very nice. 👌 10/10 would recommend. I tried tiramisu for the first time, very good and fluffy, not overly chocolately. My friend had the tres leche he enjoyed it. I also tried the passion fruit juice, very refreshing, very bussing. My friends got guava nectar and had only good things to say.

This place is such a sweet spot! Food is fantastic, good flavor, many choices, and friendly staff. I highly recommend it for any American, Spanish or Italian foods, drinks and delicious desserts. 😋

The food was amazing! If you’re ever in the neighborhood, I highly recommend the brisket, rice and mac n cheese! Everything was fresh and tender, you can tell they take pride in their dishes. The chef and cashier were very kind and welcoming. The atmosphere from when you first walk in, you are greeted and you feel like family. Thank you ❤😋

Just great food and great people. Legit Puerto Rican dishes tucked into an Italian menu! These folks care about the food they serve and the people they serve it to. I’d eat here every day. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Delicious housemade food made and served by friendly people. We went back the day after our first visit; it was so good. The brisket was a special and so tender, the mofongo was amazing. I had never had it before. The outside covered tables are great to dine at and we could sit out there with our dog. Oh, try the empanadas. We’ve had the chicken, beef, beef and cheese and lobster rangoon. They’re all yummy! A+++

This place is a diamond in the rough! Cozy building, with wonderful people cooking and serving probably the best Spanish/Puerto Rican food this side of CT! The Chef in not only a Phenom with his choices of seasonings and sauces, but he is a very kind, warm, welcoming Soul. The staff is great and was very helpful. I strongly recommend this place for catering as well. They definitely have the best prices in CT period! I'd probably even go as far to say in New England. They also cook AUTHENTIC Italian food! They have your grinders, and all types of fries if that is what you prefer. They have just about anything you'd want to eat and it's all Delicious! They definitely have a re repeat customer in me and my family! Looking forward to my next visit. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a great place to eat with the family.

We ordered catering for our employee event from Donatello's. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the price was very reasonable. We will be definitely be utilizing Donatello's again in the future.

Place is amazing food is spectacular and amazing every time super authentic Spanish food the cooks are so pleasant to talk to never been dissapointed! I'm Hispanic and when I don't wana cook I just go there and it's like I legitimately cooked.. Can't say enough about this place definitely a must if you want REAL Spanish food with a twist!!

Yummy!!! Go here! I got the jerk chicken wings, chicken empanada, and lobster Rangoon empanada. I have a suspicion. I accidently got the beef, but it was still bomb. Plantains were delish!!!!!

Wow is this place an unexpected gem. Variety of food that is delicious! The owner and staff are wonderful! The chicken empanada may have been the best empanada I've ever had! The next time I am in the area I definitely will be coming back! I can't say enough great things!
