I absolutely adore this place. Why make the trip to France when we have France right here in New Haven. The owner is wonderful. You feel Welcomed as soon as you walk in the door. The perfect selection of crepes made fresh right up front. I had the Complete Veggie which was absolutely delicious. I brought my French mother home the, “my mom is in a good mood” crepe which was a light delightful crepe with fresh maple syrup, cheese , fresh berries and walnuts. My mom loved it! She said it tastes like the crepes her mom used to make! I plan on bringing her on my next trip there. It’s a clean quaint little cafe. The perfect escape on a gloomy work day! I’ll be back :)

I can’t say enough good things about this place.. excellent food, great selection and fun staff. The owner is really fun, too! Traditionalle crepe is amazing and the others are good too, they have gluten free options and savory and sweat. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Very cute location with kind and friendly service. The owner and wait staff were so accommodating and helpful regarding my party’s dietary restrictions. The crepes were delicious! We tried several and they blew us all away. The coffee was spectacular - better than Paris!

One word. Amazing. I cannot read enough about this location their staff and the amazing crapes that they serve. I was in New Haven to visit a few students and took them out to brunch on a Friday midday. It was a little bit crowded, but we were able to get seated and opted to choose two savory and two sweet crapes to share.

The savory crêpes we chose were the Norvégienne and the Choupette (sans prosciutto, we substituted egg). The sweet crêpes we chose were the Tintin (new to the menu with speculoos (cookie spread) and bananas) and the “ when my mom is in a good mood” which has maple syrup, a soft cheese, berries, walnuts, and whipped cream.

They were all delicious and had uniques taste s so it would be hard to rank them. The buckwheat flour used for the savory crêpes was authentic and just divine. The fresh whip cream and fruit for the sweet crêpes made them that more delectable.

We were lucky enough to meet the owner Adil and even got to try one more crate a favorite of his not on the menu. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask anyone there. Stefany our server was helpful and even took photos for us. I wish they were locations all around the US. I can’t wait to get back to visit and try other crêpes on the menu.

Don’t miss out on this authentic experience!

We dined in this afternoon. Charming and authentic, displaying a penchant for French philosophers in every corner. Unique in that the savory crepes are all buckwheat. And, they are to die for. We had Compete Jambon with Comte aka ham and cheese. The ham was first rate and the cheese gooey and earthy. For sweet, we had When My Mother is in a Good Mood. Maple syrup, Brie, berries and walnuts. This crepe was a whole wheat batter. Also delicious but the ham and cheese was our number one. Would we order again and go to this rustic little bistro? Absolutely. We’ll be back in January since we live in New London CT, not New Haven. The owner,Adil,is very friendly and upbeat, and the wait staff is as well. Only two recommendations…a red and a white wine offering, and a simple salad with vinaigrette. Otherwise Adil, Choupette is pure perfection!

It's rare I give 5 stars for everything but this place deserves them all. The food looked so good when it arrived at our table that I forgot to take pictures! I will have to come back the next time and I am in New Haven to add to this review, but meanwhile will add some photos of the wonderful ambiance.

Great little spot, feels very authentic. The buckwheat savory crepes are crispy at the edges and tender - the jambon was our favorite with the comte providing a lot of flavor. The Norwegian was also tasty, generous with the salmon and creme fraiche and quite rich. The lemonade is solid, as is the espresso. You can get crepes to go (and they have purpose made crepe paper cone packaging) but it is an inferior experience to sitting down and eating them with fork and knife. The Avignon was not too sweet, nicely lemony, and very tender. Highly recommend, will be back

Cosy, charming and amazing crepe place. The crepes (sweet or savory) are scrumptious, the best in the whole area. I am French and make crepes myself…. The crepes are fantastic. Highly recommend. Warm service and kind owner.

The little place was a wonderful find. The people there were so nice and made sure we were all satisfied! They also interact with their customers and treats everyone like family. I can't wait to go there again and tell my friends.

The atmosphere of the place is the highlight. Menu was divided into savory/sweet. Small selection, but that's a good thing. I got a traditional and the raspberry crepe and both were delicious.

Nice spot for breakfast. I had the classic Choupette’s savory crepe and it was delicious. Good coffee and ham and egg savory crepe. Love the fig jam. 🙂

The best crêpes you’ll find in the area. We came twice for lunch and both experiences were great. Service is super friendly (though on the slow side), and food is excellent.

We tried the classic complète (🍳🐷🧀), and the tarticlette (🥔🧅🧀). The sarrasin was good: not too strong, not too dry, and all the ingredients were of quality. I was a bit surprised to find mashed potatoes in the 2nd galette, as it’s usually made with sliced potatoes. The result was a bit mushier than it could have been, but not a big deal.

For dessert, we had a butter & sugar crêpe. Despite its basic ingredients, it’s often disappointing, as you need high-quality butter and the right texture. This one was perfect, one of the best I’ve had 👌

I first when here after a cold, wet day in October after jury duty. I was miserable and wanted something warm, sweet, and freshly made. I found Choupette on Google Maps.
I was greeted with warm smiles, warm food, and a warm atmosphere. After spending enough time, I forgot I was even in New Haven! I could spend a whole day there watching them make crepes which are both sweet and savory! Try the Piaf which is the best sweet one for me!
The staff in incredible and I don't know how anyone could say they have an attitude like I've read in a review here. Maybe you caught them on a bad day? And ya know what, everyone has those and they're only human so they're entitled to that.
My husband and I have decided to try making it here once a month because it has become one of my favorite places to eat in CT and I've lived here almost my whole life!

4th time back after a long break. I finally got to bring my wife! It was everything I remembered. Perfect light crepes. Taste combinations that allow you to savor each bite. The ambiance is what I’d “imagine” a little creperie in France would look like. The folks working there are sooo nice. I can’t say enough.

It was very crowded when we arrived, but as long as you prepare for that on the weekend you won’t be disappointed. The food was delicious. The man I’m assuming was the owner was extremely pleasant to everyone. A very nice authentic creperie.

Delicious crêpes, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed ourselves, the owner was very welcoming, he even showed us his cart where it all began from humble beginnings to a restaurant. Highly recommend this place.
