I wish this campground took reservations. We biked thru on the bike trail. Nice spaces, clean & quiet. And the shower house on the bridge was neat!

Great place, quiet, reasonably priced for full hookups. Only a few larger full hookup areas.

Good gun range, when the fudds aren't walking about flagging everyone. Best time is early mornings.

This old park has it all. Cedar Valley Nature Trail runs through the park, and the paved trail can be followed to other parks and even other counties in this area of Iowa. This is a very nice park with lots of trees and grassy areas. Many of the newer camping areas in Black Hawk County were built by bulldozing everything. There are really nice, shady camping areas here, for everything from primitive tent camping, to full hookup motor homes. There are also playground areas for kids and basketball hoops. There are modern showers and flush toilets, wood for campfires, a pond in the center, boat access to the Cedar River, picnic shelters, and bow and firearm target range.

Full hook ups, tons of shade, and 120/30/50 amp hookups all over. Shutdown the road the gun and bow and arrow ranges are well kept, and there is also a very nice ramp for launching yaks and boats with lots of parking .

I think it is probably one of the best equipped, largest County parks in the state.

This has always been a great park. I lived in this area for fifty plus years. I wish they Took better care of their gun range. A disc golf course would be nice too.😀😀

Great park!!! Lots to do!!! Right on the river for great fishing!! Great shooting range! Camping and playgrounds! Always clean when I go there!! There is a smaller pond by the river before the big parking lot that is great for catching panfish and even small pike (so great for kids) LOTS of turtles so please watch where you drive, unfortunately I went through the other day and saw someone run over a turtle because they were speeding. Please DO NOT SPEED IN HERE!!! THERE ARE CHILDREN AND ANIMALS TO WATCH FOR!!! PLEASE respect wildlife to maintain healthy ecosystems for both your favorite recreational activities, but also so the park stays healthy. Animals were there first. Yes I fish, and I used to hunt (just can't afford it anymore nor the time since moving here) but without these animals our ecosystems will crash and our food animals will die out. Just be respectful.

Great park for whatever cooking or family outing you have planned. It's first come first serve, but I always find a spot to cook or shoot my pistol- and the range is free with 1$ targets at the entrance to the park.

Went camping for the 4th weekend. Very nice park with plenty of full hook up spots for campers, a pond you can fish in of a short walk down to the river to swim or boat. Has clean shower and bathroom amenities. Very clean and quiet park. Will definitely be back to camp again . Very peaceful place to relax especially in thd early morning, listening to the birds chirp, enjoying the country view.

Nice, spacious, quiet park, in the trees. However, spaces are more grass than gravel. Take that into consideration if the grass is wet or tends to be muddy. You choose your space, pay for your amenities if you need electricity. Was $18 with electricity, no water, no sewer. Great bike roads, paved through the woods.

I never knew that the riverview shelter was free... You just have to be there first to claim the spot. Omg it's so huge and nice for any kind of party. I had my sons 2nd birthday party there and brought my treager grill. This was a blast. Make sure you bring cleaning supplies though, the toilets could always use a good cleaning. Because it's free please also make sure to clean up after yourselves, it would be a shame to lose this free party space. Also do not drive on the grass and please read all signs to follow rules in place.

Was a quiet campground. Lots of open sites for some reason. Even caught a few fish as a bonus. Sites are spacious. Appeared to have been flooded at some time. Maybe that's why there weren't very many campers especially for a holiday weekend
