Very good food, great service and atmosphere with lovely bright farmhouse decor made this one of the best dining experiences we've ever had at an Ames, Iowa restaurant. Must be popular as there was a little bit of a wait, so would suggest calling ahead to make a reservation. The wait staff was very attentive. Food came to the table very quickly and we enjoyed the visit with the manager who stopped by our table to welcome us. Enjoyed the eclectic choices on the menu as we plan to visit again and try something new each time. Husband enjoyed the chicken fried steak and eggs and my "Frenchie" sandwich of ham and provolone between French toast was delicious! Portions were so large we needed a to go box. Plan a breakfast or brunch visit to the place as it won't disappoint!

Ate breakfast here and it was super cute and yummy! Wish they had more drink varieties like matcha but it was good! Wish the waitress split the checks without us asking.. hard to imagine they think 5+ people are all on one check

This was my first visit. The pancakes were thick and fluffy. The bacon I had was thick, crisp, and top notch. All of the food at our table was not only good tasting, but the presentation of the food was stellar. They were extremely busy when we visited, but the quality of the food and service was worth the wait. It was the best breakfast I've had in a long time.

I'll visit again. I'd recommend this place to family and friends.

The food is always served up hot, fast, delicious- Making it worth the wait because we don’t have to wait for the food. You won’t go away hungry- portions are plentiful. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The owner walks around and greets people and asks how they’re doing which is nice. This has become our new favorite Sunday tradition!

The wait was around 40min on a Saturday brunch. Absolutely worth the wait. Food was incredible and quick. Our server, Manny, was amazing. We 100% will be coming back.

I don't leave reviews so I may ramble a little. This was our first time trying the pancake House. I was not expecting the food or the portions to be as good as they were and I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken fried steak was well seasoned, crispy on the outside and tender inside. My eggs were cooked Dead on. The breakfast potatoes are to die for and that's coming from a hash brown girl. When they say country gravy that's exactly what they serve , thick perfectly peppered. The King of the Hill has sausage patties the size a small hamburger , it's basically a hobo on steroids. The biscuits were huge and the eggs were generous. Our plates were about $14 each and there was enough food to take home leftovers. Our waitress Cindy was sweet and helpful and on top of the service. This will definitely be our breakfast spot from now on.

Wow, never is there a unanimous vote in our 4 person traveling group of excellent food, service and atmosphere. Our server, Manny, was excellent in not just service but in making recommendations. The gourmet pancakes were so besutiful -- tasted even better. I has the chicken caprese sandwich and it was finger licking good! Another had the Hobo Skillet and every last bit was consumed. We all walked away fully satisfied and all in agreement that we were so glad we made it to Flip'n Jacks Pancake House & Eatery before they closed for the day at 3.

We will be returning.

So much food. My husband and I could have easily split a plate of these thick scrumptious pancakes. So much delicious food. Great ambiance and service.

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. It's bright and looks very clean. The service was spectacular from the time I walked in the door until the time I left. I had the hobo Skillet and it was fantastic. Bring your appetite because it's a big breakfast. I travel for work, and will definitely come back here next time I'm in town.

We were waited on almost immediately after being seated. Our orders were prepared and served very quickly and the food was excellent. We'll be back when in the area.

Went for lunch on Father's Day with 5 people. Was seated right away. The food and service were great. The mango and strawberry mimosas were tasty. Pictured are the breakfast sandwich, caramel apple crepe, and the country fried steak and eggs with biscuit and gravy.

We found this place on Easter. Only had to wait 15 minutes for seating. The only thing I am really disappointed in is... It's 3.5 hours away from where I live. Their pancakes are... vanilla-y pillows of Heaven. They don't even need the syrup. Their portions are huge so make sure you are hungry. Highly recommend.

My absolute favorite breakfast place in Ames. I eat here once a week and its the best bang for your buck breakfast you will find around Ames. Try the cinnamon swirl pancake.

A great breakfast spot! I came specifically for the mimosas, and they were everything i had hoped for! I ordered the Cluck Cluck Skillet, which came with pieces of breaded white meat chicken served on top of country potatoes, covered with country gravy and cheese, topped with eggs AND a side of pancakes! It was absolutely amazing and very filling. My girlfriend ordered the cinnamon roll french toast, and it was great as well! The portion sizes were large, which I always appreciate at restaurants. There was a small wait when we came on Saturday morning, but that is to be expected at such a great restaurant!

This place is bright and charming. Mouthwatering food with large portions and great prices, a winning combination. Best breakfast option in Ames, maybe even all of Story Co. Try the "King Of The Hill", it's delicious, and I bet you can't finish it. When I'm back in the 515 visiting family, this will be my new go-to spot for breakfast!

The food is great at this place! I am a little sad that the chicken waffle comes with a fried, glorified piece of chicken tender instead of a piece of fried chicken.

Otherwise, portions are generous and the food is quality. Like, actual bacon and large, burger-sized breakfast sausage patties.

I'm in love with their breakfast! I got the Over the Boarder and it was delicious, im a fan of spice so the jalapeños were a perfect fit. Food was fresh and hot. Our server was amazing and was joking around with us whenever he'd check in with us. They've got their own hot sauce and I bought a bottle to bring home, seriously going to have to find out if having it shipped to WI is an option. Specialty coffee options if you're interested as well as Bloody's and Mimosas. Price was fair too!

I have been patiently waiting months for this new restaurant to open and it was worth the wait! I am so excited to have another breakfast place in town and can already tell this will probably be our new go to weekend breakfast spot! So many great options to choose from. Service was a little slower and staff are still learning, but that's to be expected of any new business.
