The Cellar Winery

We love the Cellar Winery. They have some great wines, and they also have some great locally brewed beers on tap. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have live bands on site. Check in with them to see the schedule. We will definitely return to this establishment when we are in the area. We highly recommend stopping by. This place is fantastic.

We had a blast doing a double date here on the fire ring Friday's. There was some super good and entertaining live music. The owners were beyond nice, friendly, and accommodating. Wine is actually good because it isn't as sweet as other local wines. They had some tips bet on tap as well. They also had this mulberry gun lemonade that is dangerous. Beautiful location with plenty of space. Well be back for sure!

The people working the bar are knowledgeable, friendly, and fun to be around. We really liked the winery.

It was "Oktoberfest" day. Perfect weather for a fall day with a band, several fire pits, and places to sit and enjoy the music.

My wife and I enjoyed the German food they had on hand, along with the craft beer and wine. Great experience in an out of way location.

Unfortunately for them, they were up against the ISU home game that evening.

We enjoyed the sip, pie and craft event on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Lots of fun and laughter. The staff is very friendly!! It's worth the drive to Madrid, IA to check this place out.

Excellent spot for good tunes, cool shaded breezes, and some of the best wine in central Iowa.

Had a great experience. We left with 4 bottles to enjoy at home. The best part is that we are not from town and found out that they will ship us our favorites.

LOVE The Cellar and their wine!! We had their wine at our wedding and it was a big hit! Josh was so helpful making suggestions on which wines to have, and the wine bags were a perfect option for our outdoor wedding. They hold 4 BOTTLES of wine each, the bags are so convenient!! I would HIGHLY recommend their wine for any occasion - don't be afraid to ask questions, the winemakers are super knowledgeable!

Amazing wine!

We met John during a visit to the East Village in Des Moines. He was very friendly and went out of the way to tell us about the winery and educate us on the process of wine making.

I am not a big fan of Iowa wines, but his wine was amazing. If you are looking for wines that are equal to many imports into Iowa, his wine is spot on. Say goodbye to your typical sweet and fruity Iowa wine.

I was so impressed, I picked up a bottle of La Crescent. It will be a true joy on a warm spring day!

My wife and I visited White Oak Cellar on a recent trip to St Paul from KCK. It wasn't too far off the freeway (2i miles) in a very pretty setting. Glad we did. The wine server was friendly and knowledgeable and we met the owner who chatted with us about his winery. Real good mix of dry and semi sweet wines all cold-climate grapes most grown in IA. Definitely with a visit.

Josh was amazing. As the winemaker, he was great to talk with and obviously extremely knowledgeable. My husband and I have different tastes, but we enjoyed all the wines we tasted. They also have several beer choices for the non-wine drinkers.

So surprised to find good wines in Iowa! The tasting room was cozy and had great service. I'm embarrassed to say I did not get the name of the friendly ISU student pouring.
Even rhe porto was excellent. So happy to find a brianna that is not cloying sweet.

A group of friends and I took a road trip to Iowa from Chicago. We decided to check out The Cellar and we loved it! We did the wine tasting and a tour. I loved their Sweetheart wine🍷 Highly recommend it!

Walked in on a random tour and tasting of people who purchased a Groupon. Host treated us the same and let us try all the wines with the group! Excellent customer service and good wines!

Josh, in my humble opinion, makes the best wine in Iowa. The experience at The Cellar is second to none. Highly recommend checking this place out.
