Alohana Hawaiian Grill

We each ordered the BBQ mix, shared an order of Crab Rangoons. Every bite was delicious.
The meat was seasoned well, the rice was not
mushy, but was still cooked through and good. We will return and a note, they have great prices, $29.00 to feed two adults and have plenty left for a second meal or hearty snack later.

We had a great meal at Alohana. I had the house special - pineapple chicken. It was tasty and full of flavor. We agreed that the portions sizes were great especially for the prices of all the food items. Meals come with rice and pasta salad - I am a pasta salad hater however the Alohana pasta salad won me over very fresh and not overwhelmed with sauce. Will definitely be back to this spot, even ran into another customer from Hawaii that said it’s the best he’s had since moving from there!

A friend recommended I try this place and I’m so glad we did! The food was great and the portions were hearty and affordable. I love all the plants and the Hawaiian music playing as well.

We both got the BBQ mix combos, but I got extra rice instead of mac salad because that isn’t my vibe. Everything was seasoned well and the meats were juicy and tender! I loved that it came with a slice of fresh grilled pineapple. We also got an order of crab rangoons and potstickers. These were fantastic as well and I was impressed with the amount of crab in the rangoons.

For two appetizers, two entrees, and two drinks, it was around $36, which is amazing for the amount of food. We had plenty of leftovers!

We will definitely be visiting again.

A great laid back chill spot with reggae music in the background along with some great food! You can’t go wrong with the BBQ mix along with a Hawaiian Sun Guava Nectar.

I had read that the crab rangoons were some of the best around and I believe that to be true! They were so full of flavor, packed with filling and lightly crispy! The egg rolls were a nice size with very flavorful filling also! All for under $10!

This place has been a favorite hidden little gem, that consistently serves high-quality, authentic tasting Hawaiian food. Although they could use some updated decor, it is momentarily transports you to a tropical destination and gives you a slight glimpse of the island life. I Recommend the barbecue chicken, chicken Katsu, or the house special under $10. Crab Rangoon‘s are the best I’ve ever had and they also serve family style meals for around $40.

Delicious!!! I've gotten the BBQ MIX twice and it's so yummy! The meat is tender and full of flavor! I like how the beef is thinly sliced! And you get a good amount for the price!!

I also love the egg rolls! They're full of meat!! And the pasta salad is yummy too!! Next time I'm going to try the Katsu chicken and I've heard a lot about the spam musubi so I want to try that next time too!!!

Amazing authentic food! The sauces were delicious. We loved the katsu chicken, volcano chicken, curry chicken, and even the bbq burger was a steak burger and amazing with the Hawaiian sweet and sour. My kids and I will be back again! Thanks for a great dinner!

Me and the family stopped in for the first time tonight. We ordered the family meal with Chicken Katsu, Kalua Pork & BBQ Beef. Absolutely delicious! Everything was fantastic. I can see myself craving the macaroni salad in the near future.
We will definitely be back.

Inexpensive and has unique food for the Ankeny area. Some of the sides you get with meals like the rice and cold pasta salad are a tad lacking. The main dish however is always fresh and the portions are great for the price! It can be hard to get to but has been a go to lunch spot for me for years.

This is our family’s go-to restaurant. We love love love the chicken katsu curry - so delicious!

They have a lot of other dishes that look and smell delicious, so give them a try as well, but I keep ordering the same dish because I like it so much.

Hands down one of my favorite lunch spots in Ankeny. The staff is always so friendly and the seating area is always welcoming. This round I demolished the BBQ Mix plate with Spam Musubi. My other go to's are Loco Moco or Chicken Katsu Curry. Do yourself a favor the next time you drive by...whip it on in and enjoy some deliciousness!

Absolutely delicious food if I could give them more than five stars I would the teriyaki beef is tender and delicious the rice everything was fantastic!!

I’ve never had food here that I didn’t like. The service is also great! I didn’t have to wait at all and they were always ready to help.

The food is so authentic. My kids wanted Chinese but I wanted to try this. They loved it. A great selection of food with generous portions and at a very low price. Try this local place, you will not regret it.
