We didn't make the time to get through the whole zoo due to time, but this zoo is absolutely one of the nicest zoos I've ever been to. The building with the elephants inside, the building with the apes and the dome (especially the underground portion) was an excellent experience. If I ever go back to Omaha for a visit, I'll have to finish my trek through the zoo.

I have been to a handful of zoos across the country, but have never been to one with an underground section mimicking a bat cave with stalagmites/etc., a swamp and more. It was so cool. I only wish I had more time to spend seeing the rest of the zoo.

We happened to be there when the sea lions were getting fed too which was fun to see. Some of the zookeepers had them do tricks for us.

There's a reason this is one of the highest rated zoos in the United States. There is so much to do. If you are planning to come during the weekend or summer, it's busy. If you come during the off season, you'll be able to get through the park in one day, but some attractions will be closed.

The food is great, the park is clean, the bathrooms are clean, and the animals are clearly well taken care of.

I really like this zoo. It's environmental friendly and there is animals from all over the world. I would definitely recommend this as number 1 zoo. It's so big you can't visit it in one day. The aquarium is spectacular; you can walk under sharks! There is volunteering opportunities for those fourth grade and up.

My family and I loved this zoo. Our favorite animals were the snow leopards, everything in the aquarium, the giraffes, gorilla, and tiger. The butterfly exhibit was beautiful. The jungle was amazing. I thought it definitely lived up to its reputation. We went through in about 4 hours stopping for a lunch we brought in ourselves. The longest wait we had was about 20 minutes to buy our tickets to get in.

Once you are on the loop, there is really no way to cut through to the entrance again. This is true for the desert dome as well. You are committed to the loop. Maybe if the train is running, it's different, but we were there before the train season. Same for the aviary. I highly recommend this zoo!

Awesome zoo especially the rainforest area and the giraffe enclosure. Loved being able to walk through everything, so close to all the animals. I would skip the underground bats next time, the smell was the worst thing I'd ever smelt, barely made it through by holding my breath. The signage is a bit lacking as the map can be a bit unclear at times. Great static displays as well. Our only complaint was the lack of healthy foods or snacks, as well as water stations or bottled water. We saw a lot of families bringing their own, I wish we had. Not even the gift shops carried trail mix or anything of the like. Beyond that wonderful zoo.

I can see why this zoo is often rated as the best in the country, and it is sprawling with so many exhibits to appeal to the whole family! We spent about 2 hours here but easily could have spent more time enjoying it had we not had another timed obligation. Quite a bit more of the exhibits were open than I expected given it's the winter season (even though it's a very mild winter). My family of four sincerely enjoyed our visit and we hope to come back again in the future during warmer months to get the full Henry Doorly experience.

You could easily spend all day here!

I was visiting from Minnesota and this doesn't even compare to the MN Zoo, it's way better. The Desert Dome was a really cool experience because you feel like you're in this environment. I also did not expect how amazing the Nocturnal cave was underneath the Dome, they managed to fit an entire cave system and a surreal Everglades like swamp down there. The coolest part was probably seeing some animals that most other zoos (apart from other top 5 zoos) would not have, for example the Fossa and the Cheetah.

It was pretty chilly when I went, around 30°, so the Zebras, Giraffes, and Elephants were all indoors, we still got to see them at least. It's crazy how they managed to fit so much in a very walkable Zoo!

This zoo is amazing!!! On cold weather days, you still have so many animal enclosures to visit indoors, you can easily stay warm. And on warm days there are plenty of exhibits to see as well. There's a reason this zoo was ranked #1 in all 3 categories last year! Fantastic job @OmahaHenryDoorlyZoo

I would Definitely recommend a two day pass during the summer based on the sheer amount of stuff to do. During off-season one day pass will work out just fine as not everything is open. Also pay attention to closing times of each attraction. Otherwise, you really should plan to spend all day here as there's so much stuff to do!

This is the largest zoo I've been too. Took about 5 hrs to see everything. We were smoked by the end. Pizza was decently priced. Entrance was 60$ for 1 adult 2 kids. Little on the pricey side in my opinion

We had an absolutely fantastic time here! There is some really cool exhibit design and very interesting species on display. I really liked walking through building with different biomes. I always like free-flying birds and there were some free-flying bats as well! In fact, there were more bat species on display here than any other zoo I've been to. Snakes are always of particular interest to me as someone who works with wildlife and has been working with snakes for 10 years. I was excited to see the Santa Catalina Island rattlesnake here! We all grinned ear to ear seeing beavers since they aren't common in zoos and listening to the staff sitting and feeding them talk about how they're cared for. Lots of arthropods are on display, including a butterfly house, and the aquarium was so fun to walk though too.

I went to the zoo with my girlfriend during the Christmas festival and had a great time. We enjoyed walking around looking at the Christmas lights and hearing Christmas music. We also got to go through the aquarium and kingdom of the night while we were there. The animals are very active at night! Very cool and only $23 to get in. We had a great time. Highly recommend.

This is the best zoo experience I’ve ever had. You walk in to each of the sections and it’s like you’re in there with them! All the birds flying around, the monkeys, and otters, and many more are right there! Seeing gorillas in person for the first time was just wild. The aquarium was fun, and just as good as Ripleys. The night time area was the coolest. Walking around on these docks in the dark, hearing and seeing all these animals splashing and moving around you. To top it all off, we saw the tiger. Since we came in winter, we only got to see half the experience, but we will try to return again in summer to see everything!

Best Zoo hands down. Not just amazing animals but it's like you get immersed in the habitat these animals live in. Fun for the whole family but it's big you may want to bring a stroller for the Younger kids.

I've been to zoo's all over the country, and this is the best one in the country. I really believe that.

We were here for 8 hours and saw just over half of they have to offer.

We plan on making another Omaha trip just to finish what we missed.

Don't miss this, worth traveling too.

Amazing place to visit, we never have enough time to see everything, so the membership has helped, we've gone 4x in the last 10 months, and it paid for itself in the first 2 trips alone. Saved so much! There's never a dull moment! You could spend several hours here so strollers and coolers are a great thing to bring along, and encouraged too! On the weekdays are perfect bc it's not as busy, but the weekends can get a little crazy with the lines (I'd recommend prebuying tickets then, so you can skip the line).

The zoo is beautiful and very clean. The only thing I would say negatively is you should definitely bring your own food. There are hardly any healthy options and the options they do have aren't that great. They need to have more stations for water as well.

The Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha is arguably one of the top zoos in America. They have a large variety of animals and pavilions to house and showcase them. This includes an impressive aquarium, a desert dome, a rain forest, an insectarium, an education center, a monkey/ape house and a bunch of outdoor exhibits.

I have camped here a few times with the Boy Scouts and they have taken good care of us. They even offer merit badge programs.

You will need at least a full day to see the zoo and even that is not enough to see everything without rushing through it in the summer.

If you enjoy animals, just go to the Omaha Zoo.

Fair price for the experience you get! My favorite exhibits were the Lied Jungle and Desert Dome exhibits. They were immersive and super cool to experience. So many species at this zoo. Could definitely spend a whole day here. I was limited to 4 hours and we made it work.
