One of my faves. Good selection, friendly staff. And they're not judgemental when I'm in there 12 times a week getting my seltzer buzz on.

Not a huge drinker. Went in late on a Friday night and asked for help to find stuff for my bachelorette party. Staff was more than willing to help and they hooked me up with some great stuff! Great variety of product, super friendly staff, and great prices. I got enough liquor for 10 people for $100.

My sister-in-law was getting married this past weekend, and a couple hours before the rehearsal dinner, I suggested getting some beer for the dinner. Little did I know how hard it would be to find a place that back stocked kegs, let alone pony kegs of local Free State beer. After calling 7 or 8 other liquor stores, I called alvin's and lough and behold they had one of the two specific beers I was looking for back stocked. I was able to substitute on the second. The gentlemen at the counter seemed friendly enough and we were in and out in under 20 minutes (this includes all the paperwork and a trip next door to The Merc's ATM as the store doesn't have one) Also they only accept cash or check for their keg and tap deposits, just a head's up. i greatly enjoy craft beers and their selection is probably one of the best I've seen in Lawrence so far, I'm sure there are other gems I have yet to discover. Also they have this dangerous stuff called not your grandfathers root beer. Came with high recommendations and said recommendations are well deserved. Stronger than a typical beer ABV-wise and tastes just like a plain old root beer. All in all a pleasant experience, no crazy managers to be seen. I return the kegs later today, will post again if anything goes haywire with the keg return.

The employees here at Alvin’s Wine and Spirits generously gave my boyfriend and I a free shot of Jeppson’s Malört Liqueur on the house! We were warned that this shot was absolutely disgusting! Talk about tasting like Windex! I will say, the shot lived up to par! But free alcohol is free alcohol! Five out of five stars!!

I had just got back from saving Kepler-452b from certain doom. I had to free local villages from the harsh rule of the imperial ant troopers. The galaxy was to be doomed had I failed but I mustered up enough energy to conquer and defeat the dreaded ant army. I was quite tired and rushed off to save the queen. As we departed back to planet Earth I was overcome with thirst. I knew of only one option, I needed a beer. I stopped by Alvins on 6th st and grabbed my self the finest of brews. Wait, make that a chocolate beer. I eventually got to my pad and hit up the posse about my adventures as I sipped the taste of victory from the bottle that my battled hands grasped.

My go to liquor store in Lawrence. They have a good selection in stock. Always enjoy the gift sets around Christmas time.
