Do not let the reviews deter you. From the very beginning, I had excellent patient care. They got me in quickly, which is rare for any specialist. The front desk and the nurses were on time and friendly. Dr. Kumar was exceptionally thorough. He wanted to know the issue's history from the start until now, including history prior to the event. He conducted several tests and provided follow-up steps. I would highly recommend him.

What an absolutely incredible experience. I did read the reviews prior to taking my son to Dr. Kumar's office. What we experienced was nothing short of pure excellence. The office staff was great, even calling when they had a cancellation so we could get in earlier. There were NO issues with understanding how insurance worked, everything was spelled out for us. Dr. Kumar himself has a great bedside manner. He asked a lot of questions and listened carefully to the answers. His exam was very thorough. He ordered some further testing and his office called me right away with the results. Our experience was nothing less than STELLAR. Forget the previous reviews, from the first phone call through our visits thus far, everything has been wonderful.

Dr. Kumar and his staff deserve more than 5 stars! While visiting our son stationed at Ft. Riley, an unexpected trip to the ER and subsequently admitted to Geary Community Hospital, Dr. Kumar knew exactly what was wrong before the hospital tests came back! We enjoyed his bedside humor and how thorough he was during our 4 week visit in Kansas. He explained the importance of a Sleep Study which made an impact on my getting it done promptly. After the study, I did not realize my complex apnea could possibly have been what spiked my blood pressure, causing my stroke. Also, every call to his office, the staff always follows up promptly whether it's an answer needed from Dr. Kumar or documents need to be sent to our home in Alabama! We highly recommend him!

Dr Kumar was amazing and listened to all of my concerns about my symptoms. He ultimately was able to diagnosis me appropriately after conducting tests needed to confirm my issue. While on active duty the docs misdiagnosed me several times and prescribed medications that compounded my issue making it worse. I was so happy to have a doc that was thorough, listened and took his time.

I've been a patient for almost 5 years. I have nothing but great things to say about him and / or the staff.
Everyone is always so helpful to me. After reading the reviews I have to take a moment to acknowledge that. He will listen to your concerns, gives you plenty options on medication its ultimately your choice to take it or decline it. I'm really disturbed by people trying to give bad reputation saying he "pushes" you into taking it. It's your choice and right so... ( maybe you need someone to talk to *Psychologist? Not a Neurologist, you are at the wrong place) He is very knowledgeable so expect to hear possible diagnoses before you get your results, which to me is always nice to know what I may be dealing with. Now I only visit once or twice a year since I'm on the right medications to prevent migraines.

I am shocked by the negative reviews people have made on here. Perspective is everything. I personally found Dr. Kumar to be professional, but personable when needed. He explained all processes, treatment and prognosis. He even made me laugh tears, during painful testing. I hope it does not deter anyone seeking professional and educated knowledge, from this wonderful human who has dedicated his life to Neurology and helping our community. I found his staff to be extremely accommodating and kind.

Dr. Kumar and his staff made not so fun testing very easy. Dr. Kumar is so funny if you get him talking. He seemed aloof at first, but when I said I'd kick him if he hurt me, the banter began. Dr. Kumar let me know exactly what he would be doing and that it would be uncomfortable. He reviewed his findings with me immediately and told me what treatments there were available.

I was pretty worried about my appointment after seeing some of the reviews but my appointment went very well, the nurse Sydney is incredibly sweet and has taken care of me through each visit, the eeg wasn’t terrible at all she made it quite a bit easier. Dr Kumar was very quick in helping me figure out my seizures and getting me squared away with medication to help. I highly recommend this place, I’ve never had a bad experience here and don’t dread the doctors visits anymore!

I visited only once and wont return. He did not help, which makes it a waste of time. I need a dr that will establish what's wrong and make a plan. Not just give you pills and say you're depressed. Just minutes prior, I had said I've had seizures and migraines for years and am now dealing with several recent deaths in my immediate family! Didnt check any prior history. :(

I rated this doctor five years ago and I was so angry and sad at the time that I couldn't even write a review. My dad's experience was so bad that I have come back to my rating all these years later to leave a real review, maybe it will help someone. Dr. Kumar treated my sweet dad terribly at one of the worst and scariest times in his life.

Dr. Kumar is very cold and seemingly heartless. If you care about your loved ones at all, don't send them here. No only was his bedside manner abhorrent, but the prescription he gave made my very active dad not want to get up from his chair. Alarmed, I started looking in to this doctor (I live out of state) and it seems like this substandard treatment is a pattern with him.

Thankfully, we quickly found another neurologist in Manhattan, Dr. Radhi. Yes, it's a bit of a drive, but since my dad only goes a few times a year, my parents have lunch there and make a day of it and it isn't bad. (They had been seeing Dr. Kumar at his practice in Abilene, which is closer to their home.)

My dad is doing great now, all things considered. He is active as always, tinkering and gardening and building things. He exercises 5-6 days a week which is essential for keeping his symptoms in check and staying off medication for as long as possible. If he had stayed on that zombifying medication, my family feels he would have been gone by now.

My parents not only dropped Dr. Kumar, they also switched primary doctors after their primary doctor, whom they had been seeing nearly my whole life (+30 years) referred him to Dr. Kumar. He was THAT bad. I hope this review helps your loved ones avoid an experience like mine had. I feel so sorry for the people in these rural areas who have no one to help them find anyone else and have no choice but to go to the absolute worst doctors.

Dr. Kumar will probably have serious health problems too, someday. He's quite old, himself. When he's not getting the treatment he undoubtedly feels entitled to, I hope he remembers how he treated people when they were afraid for their lives and had nowhere else to turn. What goes around comes around.

I have been wanting to write this review for some time. Dr. Kumar is by far the most impatient, unkind, and uncaring doctor I have ever been to. I went to him for severe migraines and he wouldn't even listen to me. He asks you questions while taking notes, but then asks the same questions again because he actually doesn't even pay attention to you. He pays no attention to what you have to say, he talks over you, and completely ignores you. If you ask a question he mutters under his breath how much he can't believe you have a question to ask! Imagine that- going to a doctor with questions! He should not be in a people-person field or work, especially as a doctor. I actually could not even believe my eyes and ears when I was in with him. If I could give him negative stars, I would, and it appears that many others/former one-time patients here would as well. He tried to push Botox on me at least 3 or 4 times in my time with him even after I flat out said I didn't want to because my insurance wouldn't cover it and I simply could not afford it. He mocked me and said that I must surely have gotten the worst insurance I could have possibly selected and laughed like I was a fool. And when I eventually started crying because of the sheer nastiest and rudeness of him, he asked me repeatedly if I was depressed! At another point he asked if I suffered from anxiety. He is condescending, insulting, extremely unhelpful, and certainly doesn't seem very knowledgeable. He tries to push all of these medications and doesn't even listen to what symptoms you are experiencing. He acts as if he cannot bother with you. It was the most astonishing doctor's visit I have ever had. His tone of voice really lets you know that he is extremely annoyed with you for asking questions or even asking him to repeat himself. I was crying in my appointment not because I suffer from depression, but simply because I was so taken aback by his unprofessional behavior and the horrible way he treated me. I will never go back and I suggest anyone who is looking for a neurologist- to think twice about this man. I found out later from my mom (who did not know I was going to Dr. Kumar beforehand) that Dr. Kumar was the doctor who misdiagnosed my father with a stroke when he actually had a brain tumor! Appalling and shameful behavior for someone with "Dr." before their name.

The office staff is rude and unprofessional. There is only one doctor in the office to treat and see patients, so if Doctor has, let’s say, the flu, expect your appointment (that i had waited a month to even get) for treatment to be canceled and rescheduled (for me, we’re going on 4 weeks now of them canceling and rescheduling). Do not expect to be accommodated to your schedule or around family emergencies. It does not matter how nice or patient you are, Do not expect to speak to anyone personable. And if you express any sort of unpleasant experience to the “manager”, she will cancel your appointment and refuse to reschedule and treat you all together. Dr. Kumar, himself, was quick and knowledgeable. My only concern with him was that he did not look at my medical history or tests before seeing me at my initial visit. It’s too bad his office staff is not of the same caliber as he is. I wish I would have seen these reviews before I put up with 2 months of aggravation and stress from this office.

Dr. Kumar's office engages in a policy of requiring a bill not yet due to be paid early, in full before honoring an appointment they previously set with you. You will not know about this until only 24 hours before your appointment when an office assistant calls to remind you of your appointment. Hoping this review provides the public who are reading here with this disclosure of important information that the doctor himself should be disclosing instead when he originally schedules appointments.

I went to pick up my mother from her appointment there. While I was in the waiting room, I overheard the staff discussing my mother and laughing at her. Then, they started talking about me in very negative terms. I have never met any of these people. I don't know why I am a topic of conversation. Dr Kumar has the staff he deserves. they are a bunch of gossips that talk trash on their patients

Dr. Kumar was rude and would not give me my results from my test, which I had to have redone at another office!! Now 1 1/2 years later he turned me into collection all because the office put my zip code in wrong!!! If they were getting my mail back why would they not verify with my paperwork I had to fill out OR call me to verify my address!!!!!!!!! This office has wasted my time, money, quality of care and now to collection because they made a mistake!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE!!
