I recently lost my mom and knew very little about funeral planning. Dane and the staff at Hillside Funeral Home were extremely understanding and helpful at a time of great sadness for me. Not only did they make arranging the service very easy they did a fantastic job of making my mom look so nice. Better than I expected. Several friends and family remarked how beautiful the service was and I had to tell them it wouldn't have been possible without Dane's assistance. I would highly recommend them to anyone who's lost a loved one .

From our first meeting to the end of our services and burial, Donald Crisp and Lance Witmer took great care of our every need and detail with care and compassion. My family had a beautiful experience with Hillside Funeral Home West. The initial meeting was comforting and we left knowing that Hillside was there to take very good care of us, and more importantly, my mother. Dane communicated with us daily, via text/phone/email to ensure all the details were being completed as requested. Even if we had last minute requests, they were on it. Dane and his Team went above and beyond to create and display a service that celebrated my mother's life with her music playlist, large picture frame stands, flower stands, a loop of digital pictures on several tvs, and, of course, a lovely table for the urn, a photo, and large flower arrangements. Overall, we felt we were in excellent hands through the entire process. We can't thank Dean and his Team enough!

I got the pleasure of working with Dane through my moms cremation process. I was facing extremely difficult circumstances with my moms cremation & was blown away at the care & compassion that Dane showed throughout the entire process. Losing a loved one is one of the hardest obstacles to have to face but knowing my mom was in good hands took so much weight off my shoulders. I couldn’t recommend this funeral home enough if you want to make sure your loved one gets handled with the upmost care.

Outstanding service provided by Dane and his staff. I cannot say enough good things about Dane. He was personable, knowledgeable and compassionate. He definitely made this default time for me and my family, easier to bare. I would highly recommend Dane and his staff for any funeral needs. My father passed away during a holiday weekend and we were at a loss of where to start with making funeral arrangements. We knew this funeral home was small, but it was close to our home so we decided to give them a call. We were very pleased with their professional service when they picked up my dad after he passed at the hospice. He was a vet and they made sure he was treated with the utmost respect! They were very kind to my mother--didn't rush her into making decisions and took their time explaining all the options for funeral services and related expenses. We had a lot of questions and Annie was very knowledgeable and had helpful suggestions as we went about making arrangements for my dad. She thought of little things that made my dad's service a special one--she helped with music selections and with getting a pastor, as our regular priest was unavailable. My dad loved Reese's candy, and she even placed a bowl of them out at the service--he would have loved that! I would use Hillside Funeral Home West again and would recommend it to anyone who wants professional, honest, caring staff to help them make final arrangements.

I live in Texas, so when my beloved Mother passed on September 11th, all I had to do was call Dane, he took care of all the arrangements getting my mother back to Wichita, KS. He went up and beyond the call of duty, we spoke several times a day making funeral arrangements for my mother. He even took care of arranging the dinner after the service. Dane would call me to see if there was anything else that I needed. He was sooo helpful. He and the staff at Hillside was very professional, kind, and compassionate. Everyone was so compassionate during the whole process that I felt like everything was going to be taken care of for me and my loved one. It's been a relationship building experience for me throughout the handling of my loved ones death. Dane has helped me so much and I feel he's more of a friend than anything else. It's genuine caring.

My family has unfortunately had to bury 3 family members in the past 3 months. We used a different funeral home with each and this funeral home was by far the best! They were very attentive to every detail and did an amazing job with my grandmother. We could not have been more satisfied with our experience and are incredibly thankful!

From the moment I called to set up the appointment Donald was extremely helpful. Most of the arrangements had been pre made but he made a stressful situation so easy to go through. He didn’t press us for items that we didn’t need or desire. He was so efficient at the service and our family appreciated it. I am so impressed with Lance at Hillside Mortuary West. He was very patient and understanding. This was my first time doing this and took me through everything including purchasing a plot. My mom has used this mortuary three other times when on the east side. I intend to set up my own plans with Lance in the near future. I was so consumed with grief I couldn’t have done anything without him. Thank you for having a compassionate person. I appreciate everything he did.
