Beautiful park. Nice hiking trails. Always a nice walk when the sunflowers are in bloom.

Great expanse of farmland somewhat maintained for wildlife. Usually good habitat for grassland creatures.
Sadly the pumps that keep the water level up for shorebirds in the spring are out of commission, and are not expected to be repaired.

This place was a beautiful surprise. I’ve lived in the St. Louis area all my life and never knew this was here. Although I missed the big sunflower season in the summer, there were small sunflowers and they were beautiful. This is a very peaceful serene place and I highly recommend checking it out

The confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers is the best point at the conservation area, the road of it still closed, unserved, unclean and a lot of dust and dirt since the last flooded in 2019 but you can walk to reach it.

Don't forget to climb the platform viewing to see the fields of sunflower in summer, and walk on the wooden trail to see the ducks and some kinds of water wildlife in winter.

A beautiful, open conservation area with lots of enticing trails and views of the confluence. My only complaint is that there's hardly any mention of the indigenous peoples and the significance of the confluence to them and their history on their information displays.

Beautiful spot to look at sunset and sunflowers. I'm looking forward to when fields closer to the road are blooming since I can't walk on the bumpy trail.

Beautiful sunflower fields!
Thousands of sunflowers more than I have ever seen before
Make sure you go in late July/early August to see them blooming!

Stopped in for a hike of a now non-existent trail which was lots of fun and glad I did it in the winter as I ended up doing a lot of bush whacking.

Awesome place, must visit! Don't miss sunflower season starting in July till Aug mid. Drive till the end to river/boat area to complete your trip. Lot of stops in between to take pictures. Never miss the sunset, it's mind blowing experience. Place is very calm, free of pollution with less crowd. You can capture lot of nature scenic pictures. Try to be on sunny day and at least one hour before sunset. Gate closes after sunset, so plan your trip accordingly. No entry free. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. A must go places, try it to enjoy the beautiful nature and river view. Thanks for reading this comment.

The sunflower fields ! Very cool but make sure you are not afraid of bees. Lots of them flying around. There are also trails and nice views of the river as well. It was pretty hot so I will need to return in cooler weather to further explore. The road to the sunflowers goes around in a almost complete circle and there are several places you can see the sunflowers you can keep driving to see more. You do not have to stop at the first field. The road is gravel so be prepared to have a very dusty and dirty car !
