Dan Lawrence Violins

I called Dan on a whim when I had a screw broken off in a vintage guitar. Dan said he doesn't usually work on guitars but to bring it in. I brought it in and we both got to work. The next day I ran and got the bit we needed to drill this screw out. That bit ended up not working but Dan looked through what he had and we found a bit that would work. After a couple hours of work and some brainstorming we where able to drill it out. Dan went on ahead and turned down a piece of maple to plug the hole left over and finished/sealed the repair. I can't thank Dan enough for his hospitality and is amazing skills. If you need a violin, need work on a violin, or just need some questions answered, Dan is your guy!

Dan Lawrence Violins is a real gift to the KC area. Dan and Jesse have incredible amounts of knowledge and skill with violins, violas, cellos, and basses. This shop is very reasonably priced for services, repairs, rentals, and sales. As a performer, I have happily frequented this shop for 30+ years. As a teacher, I have discovered that this is the best violin/luthier shop to send my students. Dan Lawrence Violins has great integrity, which I value. I know my students and their families will be given fair prices and no sales pressure as they explore options for their instrument needs. Truly a gem of a shop!!

Dan Lawrence repair is the best! My daughter dropped her viola and Dan fixed it very quickly and at a fair price. I recommend Dan Lawrence repair to everyone! Dan is very personable and knowledgeable with many instruments. Super easy to get to and works with his customers.

Dan is the only person in the KC area that I trust with my violin, and the only person I can confidently send my students to. It took 8 years to find somebody so honest, knowledgeable, professional, and 100% transparent.

Dan is AMAZING!!! He is an awesome craftsman...just watch him work! 45 yrs of artistry is on display when he touches an instrument. Fixed my daughter’s violin while I watched..he could should sell tickets just to watch his mad skills....and one heck of a great guy to talk to as well..can’t go wrong trusting him

It was time for my daughter to upgrade her viola, and Mr. Dan Lawrence was highly recommended to us (by my daughter's tutor AND orchestra teacher). Dan is a sweetheart of a gentleman, very informative, and he has WONDERFUL customer service. We, (and the tutor) were jumping up and down with the quality and price of the viola we chose. Amazing shop, very kind

I want to highly recommend this business located in Lee’s Summit, (K.C.) Missouri. Two years before purchasing my violin, I had sent an inquiring email to Mr. Lawrence regarding buying a violin. I played the instrument in school about 60 years ago, but did not have one. Mr. Lawrence took the time to return an email with very detailed info on what to look for, as well as a starting price. Two years later, I visited the shop with my husband and I ended up buying one, as well as a quality bow. Mr. Lawrence was
knowledgeable, friendly, and a real joy to deal with. I love my violin as much as I did 60 years ago and thank him for his initial reaching out and great kindness!

Dan is fantastic. My son dropped his cello and it needed repair. Dan's repair was outside the box thinking but saved the investment and the cello is back to working perfectly.

Dan is very good at what he does. He has fixed my son's violin a couple of times. He's very knowledgeable and fair on his prices.

Dan is the only person in KC I would trust with my violin. He always takes great care of it, and he is highly knowledgable and helpful.

He let me come in after hours (the store closed at 12pm and he let me come in at 5:50pm) because I was in need of a fine tuner and rosin because i have to play at church tomorrow and he got me everything i needed then when we asked how much everything costed he said "Nothing, all we did was play around. Go ahead and have a goodnight" I very much do recommend.
