Mindgames and Magic: a Comic and Game Store

Surprised I haven’t left a review, but it’s the best place to play in the area. If it’s not in stock, the guys and gals here will take care of you, and they always go above and beyond in trying to provide the best service possible.
Family and I have loved getting to know the staff and make friends with the community throughout the years, and we’re excited to continue to support our FLGS (friendly local game store) for the years to come.

Awesome game store. They host a board and card game night every Tuesday from 6-9 pm. It is a great time. The people are always ready to teach you a game. I highly recommend this store.

Some of the most helpful people I’ve interacted with. Super willing to help find useful cards, and explain mechanics. They had exactly what I was looking for, and when they didnt have one thing I was looking for, someone helped me find an even better option. Everyone is extremely kind!

I love this place. First off they have a really good selection of magic the gathering singles. Secondly, they have comic's, warhammer, pokemon cards, and a lot of games in general. And lastly I was knighted, I am now Sir Timmenem Johnson of mind games and magic.

The owner Drew is a great guy and you can tell he cares about providing a good local game store experience for the community. I've read stories of other stores that do events for higher prices, don't provide prizes, and keep/sell the extra cards that WotC provides for events. Drew doesn't do any of that and I respect it. That's why I'll keep coming back.

That and that he allows pups inside!

Walking into Mindgames and Magic was a wonderfully refreshing experience. Attentive customer sevice. Very polite and welcoming. It's clean, organized and well stocked. A newly open business though it may be, they have publishers lined up for new and old comic books.

They are sanctioned to run Card Game tournaments such as Magic the Gathering. They have a nice selection of unique Dice for Table Top Roleplaying games and a large variety of board games.

If you are looking for a competitive business compared to other Hobby Shops. I strongly recommend visiting Mindgames and Magic and supporting a local business with obvious potentials.

They’ve got a pretty awesome place to play games in the back they’ve got a selection of citadel paints although it seems like they’re regularly out of them not a lot of brushes but they do have really cool stuff for making terrain as well as some paints iv only seen there. so it’s definitely a worthwhile place to check out they have a neat selection of board games. so far I haven’t had any great interactions with the staff but it hasn’t been negative. They really don’t have a huge selection of magic things or warhammer miniatures for sale I thought it was a slight of hand magic store at first but it’s a tabletop mostly,but I do love anywhere who specializes in Warhammer or dungeons and dragons.
They have lots and lots of dungeons and dragons books ,but not that many figurines although the figurines they do have are extremely well priced and the ones they have are a pretty awesome selection of stuff you would need.
They have acrylic washes which I really never seen anywhere else which is pretty freaking cool.
Glad to see somewhere like this in Lee Summit.

I absolutely love this place! People are great, and the variety isn't lacking. They got a little bit of everything. Like vending machines for the mid match munchies, sleeves for that new foil Doubling season you bought, to paints and figurines, even public-private rooms for dnd or what have you. 💯

Nice place. Decent selection for the business size. They didn't have what I was after but found it quick with one of their contacts and had it to me in less time and money than amazon would have. Above and beyond what was expected, I'll be going back.

I want to give a shout out to this shop for their customer service! I shopped here while visiting the area. I asked about duplicates in the $10 blind box with about 200 cards in it and was assured there would be few to none. The label also said about 10% would be rare/mythic. I took the box home and found that there were many duplicates, with 5-6 of several cards, and only 9 rares. I did get my money's worth and more--no problem there. I messaged the store just to let them know so they could more accurately describe the boxes to future customers. I promptly got a profuse apology and an offer for a free box done right. When I went to get it the next day, the owner included 4 draft boosters from recent sets. He also explained that staff had been retrained on how to assemble the blind boxes so the problem shouldn't recur. He used sign language to apologize to me--I'm deaf. The second blind box was awesome, with more than 20 rares and one mythic rare. There were only 3 duplicates, all doubles of different cards. I also liked the atmosphere in the store; there were many people chatting and playing games. The store is still clearly building up stock, although there was already plenty to choose from in all the categories advertised. I definitely plan to come back when I visit again!

Great local game shop! Has a cool room to game and a decent inventory. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly, made some good suggestions and were interested in looking up some games that we mentioned. I was able to find some games for the whole family which was VERY appreciated by the kids. Head in and get something!

A little bit of everything. Prices are reasonable. A fair bit of local products as well. Lots of room to play games, private rooms available with reservation. My go-to spot here in town

Dru and the staff there are tip top. If you want to get a game in of about anything the folks there are down! Highly recommend M&M

If you haven't been... you should.. fair prices ( yes like every thing., its cheaper online) but shop here ... small business owners need your support... the place runs different games.. and this place can let you meet other players or try various games.. before you buy.

With excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere, Mindgames and Magic offers a great resource for people just starting to get into tabletop gaming and long time players alike. Their inventory is expanding rapidly and they have a spacious play area. As an added bonus they’ve been working with local businesses and artists. I recommend you check it out if you like board games, trading card games, Table-top role playing games, or miniature war games like Warhammer 40k

Far and away the coolest flippin' comic and game store in the Local Cluster. Clean as a whistle. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Owners are just all-around good people, fun to talk to and know their stuff! Cheese and rice!! I went in the other day and they had exactly what I was looking for. Later I asked one of the owner's about this obscure game I had heard about, and they didn't have it, but he made a point to order it for me asap! Holy buckets! They have a HUGE game room, private game rooms, great snacks...my stars. They also must have some sort of expert WH figurine painter on staff, cause they have this killer diorama - goodnight. Can't get enough of this place. I gotta get up there for a game night soon. Sheesh.

Best place there is to get your comic book fix in the metro area! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Plus they have you covered on Magic the Gathering and loads of other games. I'm just scratching the service on what's available too. Check them out.

Went in today, kind of check it out and look for a new spot to play paper magic. Incredible place, incredible staff, easily a place to call home. Brought our 8 year old son in, and the smile on his face when we left... Made our minds up. I have a new spot, and a new reason to play magic again :)

Plenty of places to buy games but what really stands out is a place that is nice to play in. I pay where I play and would suggest anyone in the Lees Summit area play here for 40k, Commander, and whatever nerd fits you.
