St. Marcus Park

A great little park in a busy area of the city. The old headstones add a flair of spooky ambiance, but that’s all that remains of the former cemetery (if you catch my drift). You can walk the entire park without fearing any sort of poltergeist-type activity as far as I know. There’s a memorial wall comprised of the headstones of veterans from past wars. The paved trail takes you down to the Christy Greenway, which is another wonderful paved trail if you’re looking for a longer walk.

Cool little pocket of green space. The trail is a shortcut between Gravois and MoFo. The history of this place is fascinating. Just be aware you're walking over approximately 6500 unmarked graves, btw.

A wonderful place to sit and reflect, enjoy nice weather, connect to the Christy Greenway from Gravois, or vice versa. Well-maintained, adjoining a cemetery, and with many memorials to veterans and fallen soldiers. I do wish they'd put a flag at the location that says "THIS FLAG IS TO HONOR SERVICE MEMBERS," though.
