Joplin Oral Surgery

Hadn't been to the dentist in yrs, I was very nervous. I needed to have a broken wisdom tooth extracted and the staff and nurses were so kind and let me know everything that was about to happen. The lady who put the IV in was so good I barely even felt it. Dr. Matt Sheffer came in and started the anesthesia I I was out in seconds. Woke up what seemed like seconds later. It took 5 mins. to take the tooth out. And it was over. Its day 2 and I've had absolutely no pain. The first day my jaw felt stiff and slightly swollen took a Tylenol and no other issues. I definitely will recommend this dentist.

Super impressed with the customer service this team provides. They went out of their way to make my daughter comfortable by offering a blanket and chapstick. They offered a cell number for our access after hours. This team exemplified service in all they do. Thank you for making this an easy process!

Outstanding experience! I had some failed dental repairs a few years ago and was referred to Dr. Scheffer to handle the extractions. Him and his staff were all amazing and handled it quickly and as painlessly as possible! Great folks!

Great experience. I was really anxious to have my wisdom teeth taken out but everyone made me feel very comfortable and the procedure was quick and went smoothly! Other places in town quoted me double what I paid here and couldn’t get me in for over a month. I was so relieved when Joplin Oral Surgery was able to set up my consult and same day surgery within a few days. Dr. Sheffer was great, as were his nurses, and front desk staff. 10/10 would recommend.

I just got home from getting my wisdom teeth taken out today. I absolutely love the staff at Joplin Oral Surgery!! I've never had surgery before in my life, so I wasn't sure what to expect, even though I knew it was minor. The nurses were so sweet and had a great sense of humor. Dr. Sheffer was amazing too. He was very friendly and was laughing and joking with the rest of us. The overall atmosphere was professional but relaxed, if that makes sense. I would recommend this office to anyone who asked!

Dr. Sheffer and staff are wonderful. They were able to schedule my wisdom teeth extraction one week in advance because I had a very short window of time to have the surgery and recover before the start of college classes. And when issues with my Insurance came up (on the end of the insurance company) the staff was incredibly patient and helped me resolve the issue with patience. Definitely would recommend Dr. Shaffer at Joplin Oral Surgery!

Clean office, friendly staff, skilled surgeon! I would highly recommend Dr. Sheffer for your oral surgery needs. He was very kind and advised me if the most cost effective options. Their office worked with my general dentist to create a care plan for me and took care of all the details so I could focus on recovery. The nurses and desk staff always have such a friendly disposition both on the phone and in person, they made me feel welcome and comfortable. 10/10

I needed to get another tooth implant and wanted to try a new doctor after having a dreadful experience with my first implant. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Sheffer at Joplin Oral Surgery and I am so glad I listened. Dr. Sheffer explained the procedure very well and the whole experience was as good as a tooth implant could be expected. From when I walked in the door Dr. Sheffer and the staff were professional and caring from beginning to end. Very little pain and the aftercare was explained very well and I had no trouble at all healing from the procedure. I definitely will go back if I ever need more serious dental work done.

I'm guessing the people who are giving negative reviews come in with attitudes. I just had multiple extractions and removal of excess bone above the gum line in preparation for dentures. Dr. Sheffler and his awesome staff were wonderful, prompt and very informative throughout the process. Zero pain and little swelling with the prescriptions taken as directed on this, the day after my surgery. I would highly recommend Joplin Oral Surgery.
Also, there was no "blaring Tru TV" at consultation or surgery. TV's are always on mute with captions on and soft music plays in background.

Staff was courteous, registration online made everything fast and simple. The consultation was very informative and everything was explained. The day of the surgery went very well, we were treated with respect, everything was explained both pre and post surgery. After care was explained in detail along with a typed copy in case we needed to reference the instructions. They called the next day to check on my son to make sure he was OK. I would highly recommend this business for your oral surgery needs.

got my wisdom teeth out and it was about the easiest dental visit i've ever had. i think a lot of the people leaving bad reviews would have a better experience if they regularly visited their dentist instead of waiting until they have emergencies to take care of their problems.

Top notch Dr. and staff. I had a very bad experience with another local Dentist on Monday. Friday of the same week they where able to get me in and fix what the other DR. messed up. Very friendly staff. They explained everything and answered all my questions in great detail. I will not go anywhere else in the Joplin area.

Had my wisdom teeth out, one impacted. Less pain than expected and fast recovery. Could start eating solid foods within a couple days. Would recommend.

The staff and Dr Sheffer was outstanding! I am a coward and they treated me with compassion and outstanding care. The advice he gave me was spot on! Wisdom teeth on both sides ( in two visits)

I had to have a impacted wisdom tooth removed recently. I'm not a fan of going to the dentist for small issues. Having surgery was stressful the doctor and staff made it tolerable.

Very helpful with all the information about the insurance covering or not covering and the deductible payment was discussed all upfront and there was great customer service
