The Table

Learned of the Table on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. A very special place with creative soul warming food and an Ethos of the Highest Order. The Table is a "Living" expression of the Christian Gospel, regardless of one's beliefs. I imagine that John Lennon, Kurt Vonnegut, Albert Schweitzer, and the infamous carpenter from Nazareth would all feel at home here.

A++ quality seasonal dishes, wonderful staff and a great communal atmosphere! First time back in 9 yrs and wow was it phenomenal! I had the meatloaf sliders and the side summer squash salad, w/ a sweet tea. The sliders have pimento cheese and a nice thick slice pickle on a toasted bun. Absolutely delicious and all for less than $12!

The table is a very warm and welcoming place. The location offers street parking that's all very convenient with no longer than a 2min walk to the front door. All the people are super sweet and attentive they're truly a team, as soon as we were seated our drink order was taken, as soon as our last person arrived our food order was taken promptly! First of all we were told the cake is fantastic and limited so we ordered the cake first 😀. I shamelessly snuck a bite before the food came ya know just to confirm 😉. Ok so as you see they have a very nice selection on the menu fresh seasonal salad and soup options, and an array of different sandwiches. I really enjoyed the pulled chicken sandwich on the jalapeno cheddar roll with a side of pasta salad and cheese burger soup! My friend really loved the meat loaf sandwich and the strawberry asparagus salad and the garlic Parm fries! Everything was served fast and d fresh! The flavors were on point! My only complaint would be the potatoes in the soup and the egg salad (we ordered to go for dinner) weren't quite al dente and the egg salad was a bit dry. Besides that they're amazing! This place has a great mission to help others who are struggling in different areas of life... They are connected to a church, they host celebrate recovery, and they offer a pay what you can option for those in need. I really enjoyed the whole experience and can't wait to see what their next menu offers!

Amazing staff amazing cause amazing food! It is our first time in Louisville visiting from Canada. Tara and the staff there are such wonderful people. Very accommodating and helpful- made us feel right at home like family. The Establishment is exceptionally clean and inviting- and amazing menu has something for everyone including children and vegetarians. Our choices of the day were the meatloaf sandwich, cheddar potato corn soup and the parmesan fries. A bonus is free parking out front. Note if you leave tips for the stuff it all goes back into the charity fund so be generous. We strongly recommend-- thank you

One amazing place to stop and eat! The service was homestyle. We felt like family. The atmosphere was hip and fun with a mix of history and urban flare. We had the BLT with the summer squash salad and a side of creamy tomato bisque. Scrumptious. We also had the smoked chicken sandwich with the basil pesto watermelon salad and a side of Parmesan fries. Everything was full of flavors that burst in your mouth!! Very satisfied with the detour we took to eat there while passing through on 65 South.

So I found this place from diners, drive ins and dives website. Before I came, I read the menu, but not the mission. I sat at the table and was quickly immersed into a scenario that heightened my senses, softened my hardened heart, and filled it with gratitude and humility. This place is but one piece of the puzzle, bringing people together from many different paths to serve each other. The food was delicious, but those calories will burn relatively quickly. If you are awake, the imprint on the soul will never fade.

The table is a unique place with a nice blend of community. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. Food is homemade and the variety is good, with healthy options available.

Food was amazing and so fast, we ordered, and the food was out within 10 minutes. The parmesan fries and sweet potato fries were the top favorites. I love what the restaurant stands for and the mission they stive to achieve.

Fantastic place, spirit, & concept. I had a BLT and basil tomato soup. It was fantastic! I love the vibe there and the desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus. What a great place to go to for lunch during the week if for no other reason than to have some really interesting locally-grown flavors and to bolster your spirit.

This is an amazing Place and I just love all the workers and the owners are some very amazing outgoing friendly Godly People you will ever meet in your life

Friendliest volunteers! Farm to table fresh food made with love. Delicious soups, salads and desserts at great prices. Pay what you can is amazing mission, what a great role model for humanity. Wish it was open for dinner and weekends.

This restaurant also serves as a non profit. The food is fresh and fantastic, the staff is extremely friendly. It was an enjoyable experience all around. I had the pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries, delicious.

Man we need so many more places like this. When I found out how they operate and treat customers, it gave hope that some people out there still care. I'd love to talk to the people who established that restaurant because me and my lady have the same visions. Amazing place. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic food. Beyond my expectation. Beet salad was delicious paired with a chickpea sandwich. The service was great. I loved ther warm and inviting atmosphere. Great concept and great mission. Truly good food. Good for your body, your soul, and the community.

This place is incredible! The food is delicious (maybe even gourmet, or at least a "modern" or "casual gourmet"). We were told during our meal there today that the greens are organic & the meat is raised without antibiotics. Always an interesting menu which I think changes seasonally. The whole concept is truly heartwarming and SO WELL DONE! Really neat old brick building that has been beautifully remodeled. We don't even live nearby but stop here whenever we're in the area. We've eaten here 5 or 6 times over several years and have never been disappointed! Come to the table!!

An amazing place to stop for lunch in Louisville. The food is amazing and very flavorful. Plus, this is a non profit that serves the community. Prices is a pay as much as you want and you can decide to volunteer hours instead of paying.

The people volunteering that day were so friendly and kind. Definitely a restaurant that’ll bring up a community!
