JR's Ocean Bar & Grill

Went here because our family took us here who live near by the board walk. Good place to eat! The Philly cheese steaks were phenomenal! I got the buffalo chicken cheese steaks and it was damn good! Couldn’t even tell it was chicken. Our waitress didn’t get around to us as much for us having a big party it was also fairly slow when we went. But overall good experience and great food.

We have been going to JR's at Easter for more than a decade, and it NEVER disappoints. The Marucca's pies are fabulous, the mixed drinks are good, and the beer, of course, is great.

Even better, the service is fantastic! The bartender has a smile for everyone and is both attentive and helpful. The waitstaff is equally great. They are thoughtful and always in great humor.

Go to JR's - it is totally worth it.

Be sure to ask for Collen. Place is a great shore bar with excellent pizza. The music is fantastic, 70’s rock! Everyone very friendly. Be sure to get the cheese steak egg rolls and 24 inch pie. It’s connected to Marucas’s Pizza. Been there since 1950!

Don't sleep on the best pizza I've ever had. While on a weekend day trip our friends suggested we stop by JR's on the boardwalk. So glad we did. JR's serves up pizza from Maruca's if you prefer a sit down meal. The pizza crust is crisp but chewy like any good NY Style pizza. The sauce is sweet and slightly chunky. They pair together perfectly to make an absolutely delicious tomato pie.

We also sampled the Buffalo chicken and Philly cheesesteak hoagies. Both were hearty sandwiches with plenty of flavorful meat and veggies that were cooked well done without being overdone.

This is the place you expect when you come to the Jersey shore. Great cheese steak sandwich (not pictured) and a killer pizza. The service was fast and courteous. I don't think they suspect I was from out of town and they took care of everything. I only wish I had a bigger stomach to eat more here.

Went to Seaside Hieghts for Maruca's, which is in same spot as Jr's. Pizza, service and atmosphere were phenomenal!!! Worth the 90 minute drive from Gloucester County. Originally went there because of Food Channel's Man Vs Food airing. Also supposed to be favorite of Jon Bon Jovi's. Waitress told us that many famous people have stopped there for their pizza. Understandable...thin crispy crust, flavorful sauce and delicious mozzarella equals one fine pizza!!

Still here so many years. Has moved locations a few times over the years but is still standing strong. Great cheesesteak sandwich, sometimes you've just got to have one or two.

Great service and delicious food. Can't beat the pizza by Maruca's which shares the location. Also great are the french fries and chicken fingers, which arrive super hot and crispy. Staff and management were very accommodating when we had an issue due to the pub crawl arriving contemporaneously to our food. Will still be our go-to for Seaside dining year-round!

Stopped in here on the off season for a drink & a bite to eat. Cocktail was delicious & the eggplant sandwich was one of the best I've ever eaten. Pleasantly surprised at the place.....will definitely visit again if we're in the area!

After many bars where the workers were not the friendliest, we walked in right before the kitchen closed there were nice enough to still make our food for us. The workers were so friendly and cheerful. Very laid back place

Great sea side bar. Attached to Marucas pizza means you'll get to drink beer and eat the best pizza in town. Kenny is a hilarious bartender and Marrissa is so sweet and efficient and keeps the show running. Go here for great times and great beer!

So JR's is doing a great job of maintaining the excellent of Marucas pizza, which is housed here. Great pie and very nice selection of draught beer. My wife and I come here every few months, and we're usually happy.

Inside jrs is Marucas pizza. Marucas is the absolute best pizza on the boardwalk.

@Dan Afonso. No, you really shouldn't go on. You seem to have had a bad experience at the establishment in the last week, but you give no details, while being out of step with the hundreds of others of reviews. Your inference is ridiculous; really, think about it. Don't go on, Dan. And by the way, these are tough times. Every restaurant in America is fighting to find a new way to deliver their services. Or just to survive. Not just for themselves, but for those they employ. Don't go on, Dan, to further trash a landmark establishment that has been around for probably 50 years or more, and that happens to serve up incredible Maruca's pizza on the side, in these days of masks, gloves, physical distancing, fear, and reserve, with nothing to back it up...Don't go on, Dan.

A family favorite for 3 generations
I always buy the biggest pizza and share the rest for our sons. My late Aunt Agnes, John and me, then our son's. Always worth the trip.

Loved my vegan burger and yukon fries. My favorite was the coconut vanilla vegan ice cream with fresh veggies! It was everything! So was the service! I ate everything and feel great!

The food is so good. I got fries as an appetizer and pizza as the entree. The fries were good and the pizza was AMAZING. Probably one of the best pizzas I’ve had.

Food was unbelievable. Seafood is fresh and homemade. Soups were great, apps were amazing, the entree was so well. Made with seafood cooked by a true chef. Highly recommend. Also BYOB,
