Ocean County Park

This is flagship county park in Ocean county in terms of amenities. While I prefer more secluded Wells Mills in this county’s park system, pleasant smell of white pines while hiking (legacy of being Rockefeller former vacation estate) is a major draw for me, and typical Pine Barren’s pitch pines just don’t have it.

Love this park. Great place for large parties, BBQs and games. Been going there forever.

Ocean county park is one of my favorite county parks. It's lush greenery both in trees and grass fields is always kept so nice. I have been coming to this park for 40 yrs on my own. 🙃 those that know, know. It has always seemed well maintained . I've hiked the park, had personal trainer sessions at the park @foodisfuel , went to gs here as a child even went to the ocean county fair here I believe. Prior to it being at Miller Airport. There are tennis courts and pickleball. There are a few playgrounds for children. And today I found out there is a great disk golf course. The course was alot of fun, in that it took you thru the trees and across the fields. (Beware of ticks) you cross the stream a cpl times. Which is a challenge to clear for a beginner but worth the effort. 🙂 There is a big picnic area which you may need permits for, but it looks nice and clean and has a pond. the park is free to get in and they close at dusk.

Beautiful place. There are paths to walk and to drive, thru the tall pine tree forest. The air quality is divine, the serenity is almost touchable. Big park with beach area (no swimming), picnic area, tennis, etc. The park hosts the Ocean County Police Academy, and has off-the-leash dog area. Restrooms are available.

Have been coming to this wonderful park for 40 years! The beauty and energy of the trees and lakes are fabulous. There is much to do there with trails, playgrounds, fields, picnic areas, dog park, and disk golf.

I walked around in the park for 8 miles. It was quiet and tranquil. I like the vegetation and the lakes there. There is also a big Jewish neighbor nearby. I highly recommend this place.

Wonderful large Park. Great to see wildlife: birds, squirrels, deer, swans, foxes, hawks, geese, ducks, and cats are animals that I have come across with many years walking in this great park!

This park is absolutely beautiful. Just driving through the park is a great experience. The tall beautiful trees that line the road are stunning. Once in awhile I’ll use the tennis courts which there are plenty of and not too many people using them. Most of the time though I will visit this place because of the Ocean County Dog Park that is in here. It is basically the last stop down the road before the exit and has its own exit for dog park visitors. The park itself requires that you get a dog permit available from the county for $5/year. The space is large with a forest area and the rest is sand. It would be nice if there was some nice grass like the rest of the park but I understand that since it’s a dog park they are looking for low maintenance. One thing I simply don’t understand about this park is the ‘No Dog Toys’ allowed rule, which was made so other dogs aren’t jealous and avoids fights. So instead of using a tennis ball I use a stick from the ground. So far no other dog has been jealous of my dogs sticks.

The Sheriff's K-9 Cemetery is very special.
Park has some cool geocaching too..

Police week kicked off with some true wonderful men and women from around NJ and others from as far away as California. God bless these amazing people who put their lives on the line for us every day.

In Late July you can pick low bush blueberry’s. They are all over the place! So delicious.

Nice park a few different sections q small sandy area with a closed off beach some fields..... and a section with a playground but not a new one like some of the other local parks have

Has beautiful big evergreen trees Park does not allow dogs off-leash but they have a dog walking area that is excellent also you can play disc golf play areas for kids softball fields plain Open Fields Lakes BBQ area they have grills there also restrooms are available tennis courts and many other activities also all terrain walking biking Trail around the perimeter of the park about 6 miles there is a place where you can hit golf balls also putting greens both are free you can also sign your kids up for golf lessons also across the street is another Park you can ride your bikes and walk through that side too. A lot to do

Beautiful park! Great for Tennis. Also have playgrounds and a lot of open fields.

Very scenic and peaceful. I wish i lived locally. This would be my go to spot for a jog. Very clean and serene.
