W. VIOLIN SHOP(현악기 전문점)

This is the third year we are using the violin from W violin. My daughter is in 7th grade and auditioned for Regional orchestra for the first time this year and got in. Believe me, students who come to the audition bring the finest violins you can find around here along with their well-prepared skill sets and the violin my daughter used from W violin was second to none. Mr. Park took care of the instrument until the day before the competition to make sure it produces the best sound. He genuinely tries to be helpful always. Our family totally recommend W violin!

I’ve been twice to W. Violin, once for a shoulder rest and the second time to get a second bow for my violin. Both times Mr. Gene Park eagerly helped me despite my showing up without an appointment. Both times I got excellent recommendations and purchased items that were slightly better priced than having gone through Amazon/online. I highly recommend W. Violin for your classical string instrument needs!

Mr. Park was very patient and kind. Great service, ambiance, wonderful Violas, Violins & Cellos. It looks and feels the way you'd imagine a fine instrument shop ought to. I'd recommend for anyone getting or renting their first. Very happy with my Viola.

I have currently graduated 6th grade and is soon going into 7th. I have been using the violins at the W Violin Shop for 7 years now, and my violin experiences have been absolutely miraculous all thanks to this place. Every time I go there to rent new violins, my entire family always tags along. The reason is to not only check out the violin that I am getting, but to meet the wonderful owner of the shop. In my own opinion, the owner there always seems to light up my mood after coming back. He is a gentle, calm, kind man who continuously helped me, and my parents, pick out the best, relevant violin. He has an amazing personality in general and treats his customers very well, no matter whom it is. Because of the violins I have been using at W Violin, my violin sound suddenly changed from a creaky, noisy one, to a smooth one. My mom also loves listening to me playing my new violin because of the sound it makes. I can more likely feel the music when I am playing my violin and so does my parents. Of course, the shop has many other string instruments. The price might surprise some of you, but I promise it is worth it. Overall, the W Violin Shop is a must whenever you're searching for a nice string instrument.

My daughter's teacher helped us select her next violin via Gene's shop, and we found one that sounds and feels great within our budget. Gene was also incredibly helpful and kind in helping her narrow down which bow she should go with. In addition, he provided plenty of advice in maintenance. We will definitely be returning for future service and Gene will be the first person we reach out to should my daughter want to upgrade again in the future!

Gene (the owner) and Jose are knowledgeable and experience, and patiently helped my son picked out a violin that fit his skill level and style. At the end , they even gave my kids a free hat!!! Very generous and honest people. Highly recommend it if someone need to rent or by any string instruments.

I recently had my fingerboard and bridge replaced on my cello. The quality was great and he offered a great price. I also had the neck of my cello adjusted and it was done very nicely and looks clean. I would trust him to repair any problems I have with my cello. My student also rents a cello from here which sounds good. If anyone is looking to rent an instrument, this would be a great place to get a quality instrument

I brought Gene an old broken violin that I got at an estate sale. He fully restored this instrument and made it one of the best sounding violins that I own! He is truly an Artist as a luthier. So proud to know him.
I stumbled across this shop while shopping a few years ago. Gene is very kind and knowledgeable. He has not only helped me find the right violin for myself, but he has enabled my students to find their great instruments as well. He does great work on bows and violins. Gene is an incredible luthier and violin maker. I highly recommend this shop to my fellow string players and string teachers.

The owner is very nice. I once broke my violin bow that worth $100, but the owner didn’t ask me for money and gave me the new one for free. And the violin condition is good.👍👍

Our violin teacher vetted 5 bows from W. Violin shop. They were all spectacular but our favorite, which we named "Goldie" was the most responsive, sweet sounding bow you could imagine. Gene was so easy to work with and we had an exceptional experience.

Just this morning I went back to W. Violin Shop in Tenafly, New Jersey to pick up my violin which was being repaired. First, Mr. Park was a gentleman, who took time and care in examining my violin when I brought it in two weeks ago, at which time he shared his impression of what was needed to restore my violin as well as an accurate estimate of the cost involved.
Upon my arrival this morning, Mr.Park invited me to play my violin before leaving for home. Not being a professional, a little bashfully I acceded to his suggestion and was able to recall some short selections of music I have played at home, but not with the benefit of looking at music on a nearby stand. Still, even in a larger room than where I usually play, I was very gratified by the improvement in the violin's sound. I conveyed my thanks but also my appreciation that Mr. Park asked me to bring back the violin after about two weeks, so he could check the violin once again at that time, after having been played regularly in its renewed condition.
Once I was home, I eagerly picked up my violin again, now in the room where I usually practice and, of course, with my music stand and music available. I must share with whoever reads this, that as I was playing I was absolutely thrilled and excited with the positive sound that the violin was now making. And rest assured, that this is not an exaggeration or hyperbole; and believe me, I haven't changed during these two weeks. The richness and warmth of the violin's tone was so much better and more gratifying, and evident regardless if I was playing forte or piano. Playing my old friend, a violin that I have played for seventy years, was akin to a rebirth, a virtual renewal. Now I really have to work on my technique to do justice to my reborn Italian violin.
I was very happy to then call Mr. Park to share with him my experience upon returning home and picking up my violin to play. And it is in that spirit that I am so pleased to write these words for anyone who might read them and is searching for someone with integrity who is very skilled and talented in his craft and a pleasure to work with. If you have a stringed instrument in need of some repair or are looking for a possible purchase, you needn't look any further. You have found someone who knows and cares about what he is doing and is worthy of your trust.

The owner is super friendly and very knowledgeable on all things violin.

He was kind enough to fix my bridge to fit a new pickup w no charge! And even found some Velcro strips to conveniently attach it, which made a huge difference for me (it kept falling off and was distracting during performances)

And most recently he changed my strings and recommended rehairing which GREATLY improved my sound. He also has a good collection of instruments. Service here is impeccable with reasonable prices. Go here for any violin needs!

I really can't say enough good things about my experience here. I came in unsure of what I wanted, but Owner Gene was very patient with me as we reviewed instruments, pricing, and plans. Plus, they have a great rental program for people like me that can't make up their minds! Mr. Park is very helpful when I need to choose an instrument of a different size. He also provides monthly maintenance to keep the instrument in top condition.
Recently, I needed a violin for a school performance (because I currently play the viola), and he was extremely generous in helping me out. He truly made the performance a success, and I am so grateful to know someone who is so passionate and caring about what he does!

I cannot speak highly enough about this shop and the owner, Gene. My daughter and I were traveling from out of town and needed a new bridge and bow for her 1/2 size violin. Gene went above and beyond to take care of us. He is super talented and had us all fixed up in record time. His impressive inventory, particularly of fractional size instruments, was exceeded only by his friendliness and exceptional customer service. Five stars is not enough. We will be repeat customers for sure.

I had a GREAT experience with fixing my old cello at W.Violin two years ago. The owner was very thorough and helpful, and fixed my cello as nicely as he said he would. I also upgraded some of the old parts and I am very happy that I listened to his good advice. I went back when I needed a viola, and the rental experience has been a good one as well. I wish this shop the very best as it seems to run on all good things, deep knowledge, great selections and excellent customer care.

I had heard about Gene and W Violin Shop from some colleagues at the New Jersey Symphony.
I brought my cello to him looking for a lighter tailpiece and a more open sound. Gene spent over an hour with me, trying different tailpieces and endpins. At the end, my cello was more open, resonant, and even had more character than before!
The shop also has a great selection of cello sheet music for students and pros of all ages. I ended up going home with a great-sounding cello and a bunch of new music to practice.

We have been with W Violin shop since last year and they offered a good service for us, including change the bridge for my daughter's violin and rented a good viola for my son. Mr. Park is very nice and always offers professional advice. I have already referred two of my friends to rent the violins here. I just rented one violin and one viola for my daughter and my son today. I will continue to refer this shop to my friends if they need to rent or buy instruments. Good shop to go!

Gene has helped us on multiple occasions, and is very responsive and provides quick turn-around times. He gives great advice on how to maintain the condition of the violin, and also gives recommendations on products that would help to enhance the violin’s sound as well. Will gladly come back!
