Tamale Boy Happy Valley

Had the Brussel sprouts very good and well cooked added some habanero sauce. I will be back here for more.

This place was recommended by a family member and I must say I was mildly surprised, the place is clean the atmosphere is welcoming and best of all the food is pretty dam good, we had the tamales Verde with a order of refried beans and chips plus a pepperoni pizza and a couple of coconut and strawberry smoothies to wash it all down with, I can honestly say the service provided the our server Lorenzo was excellent but its the food at a good price that'll keep us coming back, all together I think we spent around 35.00 for this feast, not bad at all.

The best tamales we have ever had! Huge portions, great prices and wonderful service and knowledgeable about all of the menu items. Loved every bite and would go back again soon! It’s located inside the Valley Taproom with ample seating indoors and out with a massive bar as well.

This establishment is worth picking up and taking to-go or dining in but avoiding the bar, the restroom is very clean though. I don't personally dine-in due to being discriminated against (due to a disability) by the Public Valley House owners Brian and Ami (they own the bar) and then being 86d due to their ignorance. I'll be happy when they are bought out, as I'm sure the neighboring businesses would too since they would see an increase in traffic. They are lucky I havent sued them yet. Note: Racist Distrubed veterans basically run the outside firepit area (closest to the end of the sidewalk) probably deplatformed extremist based on the old eavesdrop prior to my 86ing. I made the mistake of supporting the Valley Public House when they opened during covid (mostly because Tamale had amazing food and I could get beer too) and now I boycott the bar and urge anyone new to the neighborhood to do the same because apart from personal friends (the owners are local high school graduates) they don't make much repeat business because they are overpriced and don't offer table service, however Tamale Boy does bring your food to the table. Tamale boy is a great business that shouldn't be guilty by association, that's why I suggest you pick up and go home, grab a pack of local beer from stickmens and be on your way! Support the right ones, not the ones who peaked in high school. 🤣 If they sell it to you, base it on about 10-15% less business.

Authentic and delicious food in Happy Valley. The portions are just right and the prices are reasonable for the quality. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. The location is prime within Happy Valley Public House.

Didn't realize I can purchase their seasoned meat by the pound! I got some chicken with their seasoned cauliflower and potatoes, a pack of little tortillas that they also sell, it was very reasonable and oh my goodness it was DELICIOUS, I will be trying everything this way, making burritos and tacos the size I want! Thank you for being such a great touch to Happy Valley!

Beware, the tamale is damn near a meal. The variety and types are varied but well done. There is plenty of meat and a thin masa layer.I also got the chicken torta and it was very good.

I'm always happy when I get a chance to eat here! They have delicious burrito bowls and two different preparations of tamales, corn or banana leaf wrapped!

I got the chicken mole tamale. It was delicious. Plus they had great customer service.

Had the taquitos con consome and wow, so good and such value for ten bucks. Their menu has a lot of variety and good vegetarian options too.

Food is great. My only complaint is with google maps. It was confusing to get here because nothing said it was inside Valley Public Alehouse!

First time eating here. Had the vegan burrito and vegan tamales. WOW!!! Packed with flavor and large portions.

We dined in the other day. We all decided on Tamale Boy. We were not disappointed. I had the burrito del mar and OMG, that was the bomb!! Lots of shrimp, topped with avocado and an amazing sauce! Two that's had the fish tacos which they loved

They are thicc boys too, one tamale per person and a chips n guac for each pair of people is plenty to eat!

I didn't enjoy all the tamales equally (some were more suited to my palet than others) buttttt.... The ones i enjoyed i REALLY enjoyed.
-Of the OAXAQUEÑO tamales (banana leaf) i enjoyed the ​COCHINITA PIBIL (pork)...
-Of the NORTEÑO tamales(corn husk), the TINGA DE POLLO(chicken) was my overall favorite followed by the CHILE VERDE(pork).
I also tried the seasonal banana leaf tamale which was very good.

Just great Mexican food. Sure the Tamales are fantastic, but the burrito bowl is a healthy alternative.

The cochinita pibil (roasted, citrusy pork) burrito is hands down the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time. This place is legit 5/5 might eat it 2x today 🤣

No exaggeration here...the chicken quesadilla at this place is the BEST one I've EVER had. The cheese alone...SO DANG GOOD!!! The chips and gauc were amazing as well!

Great food and really friendly staff. They worked with me on changing my order time so my food was fresh and ready for pick up. Highly recommend tamale boy in HV!

I don’t think I have tried any Tamales that good before. Staff is very nice also!
