This Washington Heights neighborhood park is well maintained and allows for a pleasant spot to walk your dog, take your family, and relax. It can get crowded during the summer and has different areas for different activities. Like Central Park, it has Ice Age rock formations that add interesting topography to add character to the landscape. The pictures capture the beauty of the empty park on a rainy Saturday.

The spring flowering trees are gorgeous. The play area for kids was wonderful for kids of all ages. Not for teens. There are clean restrooms and plenty of places to sit. There is a dog park. It's pretty big.

This was my childhood park I made many memories here. As a little girl I remember going to the park and they had sprinklers spend many hours there. Then as a teenager I remember going to the park to think and hangout with my friends. As an adult I took my my own children and grandchildren too visit where I was raised. I’ve been back many times since I left and it hasn’t changed at all ❤ My most recent was for all the hype about the movie The Heights which was filmed in my childhood neighborhood 174th Audubon st. Watching the movie brought back so many memories😌 Jew park that’s what we called it. High bridge pool and the neighborhood corner bodega. NYC made who I am today 💯I miss living in NYC 🗽

My family took a chance at this park and it was surprisingly inviting! The children got along well and most children were around the age of 3-5. Very laid-back.
We recommend!

Great park for kids, dogs, and adults! There's a huge playground with a water feature, a dog run, and a lookout over the George Washington Bridge and the Hudson. It's a great date spot. Go get some empanadas from Empanadas monumental or from malecon, then sit and enjoy the greenery.

Always a great park to walk through, has a nice playground for the kids to play in and a bridge that looks actually like the George Washington Bridge, has a basketball court, and beautiful view of the George Washington Bridge at the top of the park.

J. Hood Wright Park, located in Washington Heights in Manhattan, is a great public space for recreation!! I haven't been in the park much myself, but I walk by all of the time and the space seems to be pretty well-kept by NYC Parks. The playground is so cute (it's designed to look like the George Washington Bridge (GWB) in the main play area), and there are awesome views of the GWB itself from the grassy areas of the park. The basketball courts are always busy and seem to be a great spot for groups to convene for games. Again, the whole space seems to be well-maintained, which makes it an inviting, safe space in the neighborhood for all to gather + play!

My favorite park! Love bringing my daughter here! Parents please pick the garbage after yourself, kids & pets! Let's keep our community safe and clean!

A small park that feels like a community. Open layout and a gorgeous view of the GWB. It has a great area for anyone who is a dog owner or anyone who wants to sit out on the grass.

It is always great; it has been much cleaner (good job park people (users too))and if you have children, do not lose the opportunity to see the Scary House on Halloween, they did a nice work last year; let's see if they can bet it this year

Beautiful little park. Love the big rock where you can sit on and absorb nature's beauty. They have a small area for dogs. I love animals, so it was a joy to watch them play.

Great hidden gem in the Heights. I would like to see more lights, because in some areas of the park it is very dark. Tons of benches, and overall the grounds are kept pretty clean.

Beautiful but on the smaller side. Def a dog friendly park with a small dog park that is enclosed! Lots of nice grass and some nice views.
