Gentle Dental

Had a great experience here with a cleaning after not seeing a dentist for a few years. The staff was fine. The dentist that saw me was very chill. Didn't get his name. They did not try to upsell me anything. I personally have seen my friends get crazy upsell from dentists. I have used a spin brush for years and it's helped with my teeth immensely. Thank you to the staff here. That appointment was nerve wrecking and you made it a smooth process. Reading some of the comments here show how rude people have gotten during covid LOL. I will be back!

If you are thinking of leaving a negative review, please make sure that you mean the LYNDHURST Gentle Dental, who have had this name for 40 years. It's unfortunate that one of those giant, impersonal, profit motivated conglomerates can come along and use the same name as this caring, compassionate and professional dentist and his team.
From reading the negative reviews, it seems very clear that many of you have mistaken the two.
Dr. Ciani was kind enough to give me a second opinion when another dentist had attempted to scam me with unnecessary filling replacements and a deep tissue cleaning.
His receptionist is an absolute dear, warm and welcoming to everyone who came in while I was there. The hygienist was also very nice but I didn't have a cleaning so I'll have to report back on that. The appointment maker was also sweet.

I cannot tell you how much I love Dr. Chris. I've been searching for a new dentist office for many years now and I'm very glad that I stumbled across Dr. Chris. She made me feel very welcomed and safe for my first visit. Even provided me with educational information about my teeth. The staff were very friendly and I recommend this office to everyone. 10/10!!!

I am so glad that I switched to this dentist. The dental hygienist and dentists are both super friendly. My husband and I both go there and we've had great experiences. I highly recommend them. Never a wait longer than 5-10 minutes and the office staff is great as well!

Great dentists and staff! Dr. Ciani and all this fellow dentists/oral surgeons are great. I’ve seen an array of them and they were all so knowledgeable and caring. I've been to a lot of dentists because I have no qualms firing them if they make me wait forever past my appt. time or bad attitudes, etc...... So, I've seen the differences between Dental Offices. Normally I don't write revies (good or bad) but I feel compelled to really PRAISE GENTLE DENTAL b/c they have truly been an awesome Dental Office. Super Friendly Staff and Dr. Ciani (Lead Dentist) is really the nicest guy you could ever meet. He really goes out of the way to make sure u feel NO PAIN during the procedures. I've never waited more than 10 mins past my appt. time, the billing is accurate and hassle free and the receptionists know how to deal with Ins. Companies. If u live in the Lyndhurst Area I totally recommend going to Gentle Dental. Top Notch all the way!!

I have been to Dr Alfred Fiume at Gentle Dental in Lyndhurst for multplie reasons, from general cleanings to filings and more, and he is an extremely gentle, thorough professional Dentist, and is incredibly knowledgeable. I highly recommend Gentle Dental and Doctor Fiume for any of your Dental needs.

They have always worked with me. Last minute appointments. As early as needed. As late as needed. Even worked with me when I no longer had dental insurance. Love them!

Been going there my whole life. Nice staff and great service for any of your dental needs.

Your wait time will be longer than your appointment. Don't bother annoying the staff with stupid questions like, "how are you?"

I am disappointed with the service since my husband and I went there for regular cleaning (twice a year) and some minor work (filling) done for over 10 years prior to covid. I had never have problems getting reminder for cleaning but once we had a lockdown, I have never heard from them again. It seems like they don’t care about getting business. Their hygienists are decent and some are not so gentle but they got the job done. However, some dentists are not that fanatics and it really depends on which one you are able to get the appointment. I wouldn’t recommend anyone if you haven’t heard good things about this place from someone you know.

I called because of a referral that I received from a current patient. Unfortunately I couldn't get past how rude the receptionist was. As soon as she picked up the phone she said hold please. Which would have been fine except that when she returned to the phone she asked how she could help me and all I got out was that I was referred by a friend to which she sighed and said hold on. Very rude. A sorry can you please hold once more would have been find instead of cutting me off mid sentence. Won't be calling back.

Went with tooth pain - dentist cleaned and left for the day! Left me in pain and told to make another appt. (Office said he had a death in family). Tried to electronically pay bills - got returned. Took a year for someone to tell me why and how to settle bill - I even went in person to pay - impossible - no one could tell me anything. Dentist extremely ignorant to small children! Asked for x-rays to transfer to another dentist. Called a week later - was told someone was out, someone was in the hospital and yes, the favored someone had a death in the family. My advise would be to stay away!

I have never even been to this place. I am giving a one start because I had a simple question, I just wanted to know if they take my insurance, before I could get the question out the lady on the phone cut me off and asked me to hold. I said no problem I waited 5 mins. She never took me off hold so I called again. Same thing happened. If you can't answer my question how can I trust you with my teeth.

If your looking for nasty support staff you come to the right place the ladies at the front desk and the ones who answer the phone are the queen of nasty seriously stay away from this dentist until he can get his house in order

They are a bunch of crooks my husband went there in severe pain they took his 200 dollars and told him he needed a route canal didn’t even give him antibiotics or anything to get him out of pain he hasn’t slept in two days because of the pain he is in and has tried everything unless you want to be robbed don’t ever go here.

How is it that a place called "Gentle Dental" has a secretary who is the opposite of gentle?
