State Line Diner

I love diners and this one is awesome. Great burgers, great bloody Marys, great lemon meringue pie and salads. Every time I visit family by flying into Newark, I'm stopping here on the way out.

My wife & I found this gem at a last minute on Jan 22 2024 on our way home. We had the Reuben sandwich and a burger. The waiter was very pleasant and brought our food to us within minutes it looked great. The service was so great that we decided to visit them the very next day. We had different waiter. He too was exceptionally great and brought our meals rueban sandwich & club sandwich within minutes the presentation was great as well for a diner. This place is consistent, they have great cooks , and most of all excellent service. We will be back again.

The waiters and waitresses were not as friendly and they were not very good at checking on you but the food was very good. My husband said the lasagna was the best he ever ate. We were on vacation so we only ate there twice but we would eat there again.

Wow! Great breakfast at unbelievably low price with friendly staff. Went with my staple, corned beef hash which did not disappoint! Wanted to go back and check out the pastries but ran out of time. But this place shouldn’t go out of business anytime soon.

Server Joy was FANTASTIC! Leg of lamb, rack of ribs, chicken portobello panini, chicken rice soup, zucchini sticks, BLT, and keylime cheesecake for our family of 4. Huge fresh portions and amazing prices. I wish we lived closer!!! HUGEEEE MENU!!! UNBELIEVABLE HOMEMADE DESSERTS!!!! WE WILL BE BACK 😀

Come here for the full dinner experience, excellent hearty service and large portions come with a reasonable price tag. The menu has everything you could expect, with a decent vegetarian and healthy options that should satisfy your food conscious friends. There is plenty of parking on site and kids can ask for crayons and a coloring page. And finally, if you come and manage to resist the desserts vitrine... You are definitely stronger than us. We ended up ordering 2 different deserts :)

This place is better than majestic diner. The portions are decent with huge sides added to the meal. The cappuccino was good I added cinnamon on it. They offered two sugar free desserts here. Apple pie and cheesecake which is rare to see anywhere. I didn’t try the dessert but the cappuccino came with a rock candy stick which was 😎.

Had a wonderful experience here. The menu is very big. Great NJ diner. Had the Italian omelet and some disco fries. Good was very good and portions Great. Coffee was strong and fresh. Our waiter was very nice. I would give them 10 out of 10 must try! Support local businesses!

Their charcoal broiled burgers are amazing. Not something you see every day and they did not disappoint. Service was super quick, too.

Great experience all around. We were seated right away. The diner was completely full. The waiter came over right away and took our order. No wait time for the food, boom, it was quickly placed on our table. We were shocked!! The food was on point. On our way we went as very Satisfied Customers.

Friendly staff, good food, large portions, low prices. The place was packed on a Sunday morning, that's how you know it's good!

My experience with the State-Line Diner are AMAZING!! I've been goin' to the State-Line Diner with my family for lunch and dinner every once in a while. I like to eat their cheeseburgers, french fries, pancakes, french toast, waffles, grilled cheese, and their desserts while I'm at the diner. The staff are very nice at the diner. State-Line Diner is one of my favorite diner's ever!!

One of the best Diners in Northern NJ. Never had a better cup of coffee and I am a Starbucks consumer. Incredibly kind and hard working staff. If you want to have great service and food accompanied with a smile and people who want to make sure you have a good experience - them State Line Diner is a must. Oh, and the Lox Eggs Onions is Yummy 😋

Food was awesome and fast. I'd definitely come back to this place. Loved the grilled chicken, bacon and avocado salad.

This was THE FASTEST my food has ever been ordered and then come out to the table--we're talking like, 5 minutes!! I'm from NYC and not even there do we get service this quickly. Everything was hot, delicious, and made to order exactly. Feel like management has changed and things have drastically improved from years previous. 5 stars out of 5

Our server was so fabulous! I did think the food would compare, I was WRONG! Everything was delicious! the sausage is a must have!

My family was in town to celebrate my wedding. Saturday and Sunday, we all came here for breakfast. There was no problem accommodating all 14 or so of us. The food came out within a reasonable time and was tasty. Absolutely recommend!

Great diner! Easy on, easy off Rt 17. Huge menu, I was shocked by the options available. Old school place, with a full bakery of goods available including cakes. Highly suggest stopping in if in the area. Can’t beat great diner food. Gluten free options available.

An oasis on rte 17 in New Jersey, just when you think there are no more New Jersey diners. Huge menu, good food, large portions and good old fashioned service. We stop there on our way home from Maryland, one of our favorite stops. The Italian dishes are very good as well as the Greek specials. Of course if you are in the mood for a hamburger you found the right place. Breakfast foods are good too. In other words it is hard to go wrong.
