I am a VERY reasonable person but I would give 0 stars if I could. I originally called them when a collection agency tried to verify my employment based off of a bill that wasn't mine due to fraud. I called upright law to set up a chapter 7, I paid 525.00 in the first 3 weeks, during this time, the collection agency served me papers for a judgement, I called Benjamin Riely (my attorney) and asked him to call the collection agency and let them know I'm in process of filing bankruptcy or to just give me the case number so i can let them know, his words were exactly this "Until I'm paid in full, I cant do anything for you". so I go see another bankruptcy lawyer just to see if what he was telling me is true and the one i talked to pretty much told me that was shady and he should have at least made a phone call and tried. The 2nd bk lawyer i talked to said i have only 3,000 in debt and it would not be a good thing to file bk over and advised me to call a credit consolidating company. I called upright to cancel my current bk and ask for a refund of the 525.00 that i paid and they told me that everything they did for me comes up to the exact cost of what i paid, like to the penny. What the hell am i paying for if he told me twice he wont do anything until i paid off?!?! its ridiculous and I'm so frustrated. Please don't give them a chance to rip you off to.

I was on a site (Nolo.com) and filled out one of their questionnaires regarding another matter. Nolo made the mistake of providing my information to these individuals. The representative called my promptly (Jared I believe). He asked if I was looking to file bankruptcy, which I was not. I explained the situation and he just asked "Are you looking to file bankruptcy?" I said no and he said "I'll take you off the list" and hung up on me. I understand being busy, or even trying to optimize call time and productivity. The mistake was not mine in regards to being forwarded to this firm. The manner in which the call was conducted was completely unprofessional. At the very least he could have tried to direct me somewhere more appropriate. This is one of the worst experiences I have had with customer service. I have been in customer service before and you treat everyone as a potential client. I can assure this, it may not be much but I will not use them if I ever do have to file bankruptcy. Nor will I ever recommend them based off the lack of professionalism in an initial call. Pathetic.

Probably the rudest customer service rep I’ve dealt with in a long time. I was calling to get information and he took me through the entire process as if I was filing today and then said he feels like he did it for no reason when I reminded him I only wanted info like costs, etc. very unprofessional. I’m not sure if he is working on commission but the fact that someone with that kind of professionalism or lack there of, is the first person of contact tells a lot about the attorneys that employ him. I wouldn’t recommend calling them because in addition to bad customer service the costs are quite high compared to other firms.
He didn’t share any info about their success rates or how long the process took. He asked a bunch of questions said it would be over 2k and how did I want to take care of it. I didn’t get an attorneys name or anything.

If i could i would not give them any star. Filed for bankruptcy. Payed them 2 thousand dollers. Finish paying them november. I got an email from them that my lawyer will be contacting me. Never heard from lawyer or upright law. Made many attempts to contact both my email and fax. It now april and upright law states that the lawyer dont work for company. And refuse to give back my full amount of money. Never use these guys evee!!!!!!!
