The Half Penny Public House

I've never had a bad time at The Half Penny. The food and drinks are always good, the atmosphere is laid back but not divey, and the staff seem like they're actually happy to be there. Would recommend anytime!

It's one of my favorite places to go and hang out. The bartender Kennedy is super nice and friendly, and she makes wonderful drinks. The food is well worth the price, and the atmosphere is friendly and makes you feel at home. I love that they have live bands on the weekends.

I recently visited this wonderful establishment! I was not disappointed! The service was excellent, the food was well prepared, and the service from the Bartenders and the cooks themselves was friendly! The attention to detail and time it took to recieve the food and drinks that I ordered was excellent! Whether you come in for a drink to wind down from the work day, for exquisite food to help celebrate with Friends and Family, or to countdown the end of the year followed by a New Years Kiss, Half Penny Is the place to go!!

Community relations is awesome - they sponsored a mini field trip to their establishment for the children at my sons school

Yummy breakfast with a cozy atmosphere! I've driven by for years, but never stopped until today. I've been missing out. I'll definitely be back!

Always crowded when we go but worth the wait. Football on, good food and cold drinks. We have been on Taco Tuesday and Thursday rib night, both a great deal. Husband enjoys the specials but I still order the pulled pork sandwich everytime because it is so GOOD!

Let me update this a couple years later. Still the Best happy hour options and Elliot is their best server. He is quick, efficient, friendly and makes you feel right at home. Thank you Elliot!
Best happy hour menu. Food is always good and consistent. Drinks come quickly even when they are busy. Great customer service. They have live music some nights. My partner and I try to go once a week when we can.

Limited parking, big(ish) bar, large tables available for medium or large groups. Good beer selection.

This place is cool. The staff are very friendly and very good at their job (they were extremely busy but a few still chatted with me at the bar and got me drinks and food quickly). Their specials are awesome. I have only tried a bit of their food but it was solid. I will be back.

Quality food and good drinks. The French Dip was awesome. Can’t wait to go again. Good side salad and tasty sweet potato fries too. Laid back and open vibe midday. Need an excuse to get back to Salem soon.

St Patty's Day corned beef and cabbage was wonderful. Everyone was cheerful and the food was delicious. We were also treated to live Irish Music. They also have TAP Trivia while you are eating.

Our favorite place for years ..not a bad item on the menu..everything is spot on, the specials are great..we live for tack and rib nights and the music events are always a great! Great service and staff, love this place!

This has been a consistent morning stop for my bestie and I to have breakfast before setting sale in Salem for "treasure hunting." Sometimes the service is slower, but super nice!

We are regulars and continued to patronize this great place throughout the pandemic, Marshe and Jessica are great! Even if one of them is not waiting on us, they make a point to say hello. Tonight Jessica told us to check out the expansion of the outdoor dining and it looks great! They have fresh plants and landscaping to give a great look! Let's support them even more starting Friday and get through this together!

Let me just say - OUTSTANDING! Went to the Half Penny for the first time to try out Thursday Rib Night. It did not disappoint! Every staff member, host,, server,bartender and those magic elves in the kitchen were awesome!! They have a take home menu/calendar, too so you get to know all the wonderful things they offer. The Half Penny will be a regular thing!

Always great food, drinks, and service. Bathrooms are clean, and staff are friendly. Great place to grab a meal and a yummy drink.

Omg, first time here, and the prime rib was absolutely amazing. Came specifically as my friends band was playing, and they pack the house every time! But the food was beyond delicious, and the staff super friendly, strongly recommended 👌

Loved it! The live music was fantastic after a delicious dinner. We were guests of Garry Meziere, who highly recommended the Half Penny. I had the chicken ranch wrap & others had prime rib and burgers. All delicious.

The Half Penny is always great. The food is good and the people are extra nice. Their bartenders always make the best drinks in town.

And the food! I love the pulled pork sandwich and my wife is a fan of their french dip. Yum!
