Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Café

We eat here several times per month and it’s always fantastic! The hot food is delicious (we usually get a 1/2 salad (Asian or BBQ Chix) and 1/2 sandwich (French Dip or Chix Croissant). The baked items are a nice treat too—always grab a few buckeyes on the way out! The staff is super friendly and upbeat. They really strive to ensure you have a pleasant experience. I like sitting by the fireplace or outside overlooking the pond while eating ice cream on a hot summer’s day.

Go for the cakes, come back again for a pie, and then return for the cookies!

It is difficult to know where to begin when you walk through the doors. The sweet scent wraps you like a hug from your Grandma or Auntie, and you're instantly transported to another place and time.

Looking through each glass case, the cake, pie, cupcake, or cookie looks fresh out the oven - a person can tell the amount of time and love each of these delicious treats has poured into it.

Then, if you have the time, you can sit back and enjoy a nibble at one of the comfortable booths, lounge chairs or take advantage of the warm fall weather and retreat outside to the patio, and the relaxing backdrop of the pond.

The service was fantastic. My questions were answered almost before I could ask, and I welcomed suggestions from the many choices I had. Worth the trek, worth any wait there might be... enjoy the sweetness!

Cool spot that has a upscale coffee shop vibe. Don't let the name fool you, they have cookies, cake, ice cream, milkshakes and also have a pretty big lunch menu with soups/salad/sandwich combos of freshly made soups etc.

We got a banana split (pictured) cause we just wanted dessert, but the lunch options all sounded great to.

The staff walked around the shop to make sure everyone was doing well and enjoying their coffee or treats. We had the cookies and some coffee and both were above and beyond delicious!

I really love the fast food speed, but homemade quality of the food. The French dips are delicious. I had a red velvet cake from here on my birthday that was divine. The staff are really friendly, and the dining area was clean. Highly recommend. I love the oatmeal creme cookies here. The only negative was the drip coffee. It was luke warm and kind of flavorless. They were very busy so I'm not going to ding their review for coffee.

We wanted some dessert in the Indianapolis area. After checking out options near our hotel we found Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Cafe. We're glad we did. The staff was super friendly and the desserts were amazing. The restaurant was very clean as well.

Terrific lunch spot.We love the fresh soup and sandwiches. The only thing better than the food is the friendly service. I am thankful to have such a wonderful business in our community!

I actually work across the street from Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery. While I have discovered the delicious pies and cakes, I also discovered that they have really fresh and savory food that is great for lunch. Definitely a better alternative than fast food. I have had salads, sandwiches, and soups. My favorite right now is the Chicken Croissant! Sliced white meat chicken, crispy bacon, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard on a soft, flaky croissant. Delicious! I really like the homemade potato salad as well. The buckeyes taste like peanut butter fudge with a light coating of chocolate. It makes for a nice sweet ending of the meal! Highly recommend everyone checking this bakery/cafe out! The customer service is amazing, the food is always delicious, and the atmosphere is pleasant. They have outside patio dining when the weather is nice. Check out this treasure!

Wow! What a pleasant surprise. They have so many amazing baked goods and fantastic flavors of ice cream!

The staff here are genuine and friendly, and they really care about you finding the exact right item to make your visit the best it can be.

The decor and eating area are stylish and comfortable. In fact the dining space is so nicely designed it feels like the prices should be higher, but they aren't!

My recommendations are the cinnamon ice cream and the Dutch apple pie, and if you combine the two of them I think you may have just made some magic!

Great ice cream and fantastic chocolate chip cookies. Really can't say enough how much I enjoyed this spot. The added bonus, you can get sandwiches and soup here as well. The lobster bisque is really good.

Loved the atmosphere and food! Perfect place for a lazy day. Loved the Club sandwich and pasta The peaceful fireplace and cozy chairs made me feel so at ease. The employees were also very friendly and helpful

Fast friendly service and food was quite good. Enjoyed the club and the Mac and cheese. Ice cream was very creamy and tasty. There were a lot of sweets available as well. Restaurant looked clean and new. Worth the visit.

We just popped in to see what the place was like and to our surprise, there was quite a bit going on here. Plenty for sweet teeth just waiting for something delicious, but also there's plans for other foods aside from the baked goods and ice cream.

Great little place, with a friendly staff. I believe if I heard correctly there's a brunch with set hours and certain days. Look forward to coming back and experiencing more of what you have to offer.

Ice cream always taste of good quality. Service is excellent. The facility is welcoming with lots of outdoor seating. This is an extra nice spot around the area. They did well.

I can't say enough about this place one of my favorites for lunch. The soups are great so many different salads and sandwiches to choose from excellent service always with a smile always on top of things and what can I say about the bakery part OMG!!!

We had a very important reunion on our visit to Homemade and the staff and manager could not have been more accommodating and wonderful! Both of our families enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the delicious ice cream! Highly recommend this location for excellent service, treats, and hospitality!

Excellent ice cream! We had Chocolate, cinnamon, and peanut butter fudge. They have some really good looking bakery items too!

Wow! If you haven't been here yet, go as soon as you can. Very reasonable prices - HUGE variety.
Ice cream, cake, pudding, sherbet, oh and salads if you're feeling guilty.

Really loved the 4 layer banana pudding. My 7 yr old says the chocolate ice cream was "thick" and "pretty dark" compared to regular chocolate ice cream.
The 3 year old seemed to have no issues with the blue Smurf ice cream and my wife says the pumpkin cheese cake was "pretty good" but didn't say "amazing."

We will be back so we can keep trying everything else!!
