Papa Bears Chicken

The mango habanero traditional wings were amazing. The staff were so friendly and accommodating especially for it being around midnight. This is a great place to go for some late night wings.

Good food, a little pricey. The dude was super nice and it was a very interesting place.

I'm in town for the big dog show at the Fairgrounds and popped in for lunch. I got the chicken philly sandwich and fries. So yummy! And visiting with the owner was also delightful. He referred me to the gentleman next door for his yummy lemonade and I had me quite the scrumptious lunch.

Just stopped by while out for a 40mile+ bike ride around Indy. These are the best wings we've ever had without a doubt. And we had them plain with no flavors! They were cooked perfectly- crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Seasoned just right. So glad we got enough to take home! The owner was super friendly too. We will be back!

Can't believe I didn't try this place for so long. Those wings give KSR a run for their money. Sadly, he was outta bleu cheese dip but still absolutely fire.

Stopped by and they were closed. I decided to call a few minutes later and the gentleman said he had to run for some food. I'm glad I called, I turned around and went back to order wings to go. They were fantastic! Mango habanero is amazing, sweet heat tastes great. Also the garlic parmesan was great too! The orders even came with seasoned fries. I bought a couple vouchers after seeing this guy on fox 59 and do not regret it at all. I will definitely be back. You will not be disappointed with wings here.

Food was delicious! Family enjoyed the chicken and waffles and the lamb chops. Will definitely make a trip again to Broad Ripple to spend my money with Kev.

Get an order of the mustard wings. Trust me. They aren't soaked in mustard after they are fried... but the other way round. His chicken Philly is dope too. If I'm honest everything I've had is good, but these are the most notable items I've had.

I definitely wish I knew this chicken joint was here. My boyfriend lived a couple streets over when he was a teenager and we rode by and had to stop. He was bragging about how good it was so I tried it. I loved it. I customer service was so amazing. The food was great. They also stay open til 3a.m. on certain days you cnt beat that. Pretty good chicken. I would ride the distance just to eat here (I live across town).

I love this place, the owner is very respectful and courteous and the chicken is always fresh and hot. I truly spend my money where food is good. Let's support our neighborhood. On my way today to get some flats 🤗💯

One man gang! Serving up the best chicken in Indy. Worth every second you have to wait. It’s just one man and he’s busy. You’ll love it when you get it.

I stopped in this cozy place for a quick bite to eat and got a surprise. It was more than that. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. He made my hungry self feel at ease about being a first timer there. 😃 The food was GREAT and the service was even better!! Thanks Papa Bear's for making a now new customer.

Kevin is the man! His attention to the quality, the service he provides, and size of portions has made me a repeat customer. I will be telling friends and family about this place!

Building may not look the best and it's quite hot inside, but all food is made to order and you can watch them cook it. I ordered "5 wings and fries," and was not disappointed. The fries are seasoned very well--nice and light so you can still taste the potato. Chicken is fall-off-the-bone tender, and the breading has a very delightful crunch.

If you have the time for made-to-order chicken, definitely stop by!

After this visit, I'm very excited for the weekend because they do rib tips Fri-Sat only. I'll make appropriate edits after that.

Papa Bear's Chicken was delicious! We were visiting from Idaho and loved this place. We got rib tips, perch, and shrimp baskets, and enjoyed it all. We also got the 2-piece chicken deal, and what a deal! It was super crispy and oh so good. Portions were very generous. We may have stuffed ourselves too much, but we couldn't stop. ;) Kevin, a.k.a. Papa Bear, was quick, friendly, helpful, and incredibly hardworking running the place. We wish we lived in town so we could continue to go here, so for all of you who do--go check it out!

Papa Bears Chicken is a small, fairly new, takeout restaurant with "BIG" flavor!

1938 E. 46th Street, Indianapolis, IN.

I stopped in there at about 2:30 this morning, of course I'd already checked out the reviews because I'm a foodie and I'm sensitive about my taste buds!

The menu consists of various flavors of wings, and fish dinners,(served with fries) also onion rings (which cost a little extra) burgers, (beef and turkey) pizza, and loaded nachos (beef and chicken)

I had a small order of regular wings and onion rings which are made to order and only took around 10-15 minutes to make!

5 nice sized whole wings and a good portion of jumbo onion rings, fresh and hot, both seasoned to mouth watering taste!

A man who took my order, whom I believed to be Papa Bear himself, was very friendly and had a big beautiful smile....very welcoming!

The waiting area has a table and a couple of chairs, though plenty of room to wait for your order, immaculately clean inside and out!

Papa Bear had a great idea and ran with I see him maybe expanding in the future and I'll be a frequent customer!

I had 5 wings with fries. I really appreciated that he doesn't use ginormous rubbery steroid chicken wings. They were tiny but seasoned like grandma would have done it. Served crispy, hot, and fresh with a smile. I look forward to trying it again.

Wings were hot, fresh, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. I had the mango habanero and fries. Fire new spot, right next to what I've heard is a delicious lemonade place (~23 flavors) that I'll be trying next time!
