The atmosphere is the highlight here. Service was amazing. There was a slight catastrophe with the toilet flooding and Tammy did a fantastic job keeping her cool and doing the best job she could. The coffee was ok, I just got a vanilla latte. It was a little uninspired but I'm satisfied for just $4.

This place is so cool. Super friendly barista, great coffees, apple cinnamon muffins are delicious! Substitute oat milk for free. They also have ice creams and shakes!

Great coffee shop with a roaster on site. Really cool old building complex. Go through the metal wrought iron gate to find the entrance. Good space to hang out with friends. Large outdoor space for hanging out also. Love the whole vibe of the place. The coffee drinks were great as well. I always get cappuccino and it was great.

Unique coffee shop. Great service. The coffee and breakfast burritos are really tasty. The carrot salsa we could have eaten a gallon of! We'll definitely stop again.

Love this place!! We were down in Indy for a conference and was looking for a good coffee shop instead of chain company. This was it! Made sure to stop before we left town for a second time and it was just as great as the first. Great atmosphere, great service, and best coffee I have ever had. Will make this place a stop every time I am in the area.

Neighborhood is a lil sketchy but the place is super cute and welcoming. Coffee was all very good and the price is like half of chain shops. $5 for a large latte that runs you $9 at Starbucks

This was a fun find with amazing coffee and a cute atmosphere. I had the cafe miel and my husband had the Aztec mocha, both of which were absolutely delicious. Friendly barista, cozy seating. We will definitely come back if we're ever back in the area!

A hole in the wall coffee shop. Go to the entrance and you just cannot make out where you got to, but when you enter you are transformed into a different world altogether! Dark decor, local art, antique pieces, tiny frames brim the walls. The bullet proof coffee with grass fed butter and coconut oil lit up our taste buds. Absolutely sensational taste. The vibe was calm, and not too many customers. Games like Chinese checker, chess for some fun. Free WI-FI and pets allowed. What more could I ask for.

A good place to get coffee in/near Irvington. Very cool interior with a large roasting machine inside. The drinks are made well and the baristas haven't fumbled the process of making a latte resulting in a bitter drink; always sweet and nutty.

I would prefer to see more seating inside for the colder months or customers who didn't want to sit outside. The lack of tables inside made it feel a bit awkward ordering when the weather is poor, but interesting decor can keep you busy.

Love this place!! Super unique space and looking forward to getting work done here. Great service and awesome handcrafted sodas. Would recommend!

As someone with a dairy allergy, I have a high appreciation for Coal Yard Coffee because they offer coconut, almond, and oat milk. Unlike many other coffee shops, Coal Yard Coffee doesn’t charge an arm and a leg to those of us needing to substitute to a dairy alternative. Additionally, I like they are also inclusive to other dietary restrictions by offering multiple sugar free syrups.

Coal Yard Coffee is consistent at making quality, flavorful drinks. They also have a very friendly staff who make the experience even more welcoming.

Awesome place, cool people and great coffee. The coffee roaster is right in the shop! We ordered our drinks and hung out to watch a few roasts. Highly recommend stopping in and supporting this veteran owned business.

LOVE this coffee shop. Unique describes Coal Yard Coffee. The service is wonderful as well as the Baristas that greet you. Excellent coffee and food. Its not just a place you come and go ....unless of course you want too. 😁😁😁 There are many options to sit that are comfort areas of what ever you may be looking for. I love the woodstove area. Lovely around this time of year. However many i seen also sit outside and chat too. This seems to be a favorite of many....I know since discovering it is a favorite of mine. If you like Art...they display art on their walls. The artist that has art on display is Unique in his art as well. Very fitting ...right. 😁😁😁 You get a chance ask the manager the history on the Coal Yard Coffee. I hope they add back having art Galleries again. Solid café,, expansive menu (if you get there early enough to have options), the atmosphere/decor is compelling and comfortable when you ignore the random military tchotchkes, lol.
My only real grievance is the music... there is one small speaker in the corner that plays clean versions of the "hot 100's," making you feel like you're trapped in a discount sneaker store.
It borderline flushed away all the good "vibes" they are trying to create. Don't underestimate the power music has.
But if you get there early, with some headphones, this could easily become your next staple spot.

Great coffee at one of the most unique locations around. The interior is worthy of hanging out and drinking coffee just to look around and visit.

This place is quickly becoming my new favorite coffee shop in Indy. All the baristas are amazing and the manager is dope. Bailey's special is getting added to my morning routine.

Great place to sit down and enjoy some great coffee. The barista was very friendly and made great suggestions on new things to try. There were also games available to play. I will definitely be back.

We went here since it was near the Iverington Fall festival. They did amazing for the traffic coming through and were so kind!! An amazing place to go ❤

Got the Cafe Miel, and was very impressed! I live right down the street and I don't know why it has taken me so long to stop in, but glad I did this morning! Chill atmosphere in the building with the guy playing acoustic guitar too!
