Joella's Hot Chicken - Indianapolis

Decided to try off the hottest chicken they have “fire in the hole.” I had to sign a waiver. The chicken tasted okay and the spiciness was pretty hot for me and I enjoyed it. I am a little disappointed on the jojo sauce, tasted good but not wow. Would need to try other sauces. The waffle was also enjoyable.

WOW!! This is some amazing, tender, juicy chicken, hot off the fryer!! 🐣🪓🩸➡🍗🍗 Takes me back to the good old days in Texas. I especially recommend Ella's Fav on your chicken breading; it is pure orange goodness. The chicken is served on top of a slice of bread, and the orange goodness soaks into the bread; like Yats but better! The kale crunch salad is also delicious, with blueberries included for sweet contrast. 🫐

Shout out to Brie, Emily, and Ashton for being awesome! A true example of southern hospitality! 🙏

We went to Joella's in Broad Ripple. Awesome, quick and great setting right on the water! Food was great!

Pretty good food and friendly staff. Chicken was moist and well cooked. Great spicy flavors also. We got the chicken (tenders) and waffles, quarter white meal with green beans and broccoli slaw, and the parm garlic fries. Plan to go back again when craving some southern style hot chicken.

Chicken tenders and fries. Very good chicken, one of the best in Indy. Always quality food! Got it door dashed was stuck at work and really wanted something comforting. Was still hot and was just like I got it at the restaurant.

Fries are really good as well.

Need to get the chicken and waffles next time!

Joella's serves up a terrific chicken. The flavoring was outstanding. There was a whole range of taste, not just a burning spice. The cook was great as well, nice and juicy. Service was good. The eating area was large, bright, and kept clean.

this was our first time trying this place, and i’ll definitely be back, but will probably go with the tenders instead of the sandwich, i personally didn’t care for it, but it did have good flavoring. mac n cheese is really good ! service was good, everyone seemed nice.

Joella’s is a great stop for wonderful chicken with a southern feel. From chicken & waffles to the largest chicken tenders this place does not lack for big portion sizes. Well worth a stop and the Sammies are huge. Recommend getting the honey to dip your sandwich in. Good and good for you. The southern way!

We went through drive thru. Had the lunch special. I like that I actually got chicken not just breading. Definitely liked this better than raising canes.

This location blows Broad Ripple out of the water. Great service and chicken at both locations. If you really want hot chicken, 96th street does it right! Broad Ripple is for sissy wannabes! 😂 get the app and get offers!

Idk the food but Ashton is great cashier and cleaner! He makes me feel welcome and comfortable ordering for the first time!

Nice spot for lunch. Came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago after a recommendation and this place didn’t disappointed. Don’t worry too much with their hot sauce because is not that hot. I got the joellas fav and it was great. Will come back for sure.

This place serves Nashville-style "hot" chicken along with a nice selection of sides and an eclectic soda fountain (red birch beer... yay! Oh, and of course tea/sweet tea/lemonade are there too). My wife is a big fan of their garlic fries and mac-n-cheese and I have their regular fries and vinegar-based slaw shown in the picture along with a quarter-white chicken. Boneless tenders are also available and they do wings along with chicken and waffles as well.

Having lived in Nashville for 3 years, their chicken may not satisfy all the purists who fight over Prince's or Hattie-Bs, but it brings a decently authentic experience to the Indy area. Incidentally, if you are scared about spicy chicken they offer a full range of spice levels, so people of all spice-level persuasions can be happy.

By far one of the best place for fried chicken. The fire in the hole is really a challenge, extreme caution!! The medium hot is so perfect and the crispy fries is awesome. Good job Joella’s and we will continue to be a repeat customers as long as we are her..

Stumbled onto Joella's during a shopping trip. It sounded interesting. Oh my goodness! I had some chicken tenders - they were awesome! You get to pick the level of heat. I went one notch below max hotness. What a flavor explosion! If you like spicy food, this Nashville-style chicken won't disappoint.

The Quarter Dark 2-Side Meal was delicious! I got the Ella's Fav heat flavor on my chicken, which was absolutely perfect. Great flavor and definitely not too hot by any means.

Came here with friends and family and ordered 3 chicken sandwiches and one thigh and leg. Everything tasted excellent. The thigh and leg came out a bit late, but our server was very thoughtful and offered a complimentary dessert. Would recommend!

Delicious hot chicken cooked up great. I had the classic sandwich with Kale crunch salad (pictured) at the Medium Tweener heat. Delicious taste, just enough heat and did not overwhelm flavor, felt authentic. Good pickles, good soda too, that fancy Boyel or whatever stuff.

Wife has the quarter dark, also loved it. She is not a spicy eater, also got Tweener, said it was just right. She had the fries and they were legit tasty.

Price was good, service was fast and friendly, clean overall, very nice. Would for sure eat again, I hope they open a Greenwood or Downtown location for sure!!

that's some good chicken. Fire in da hole sauce was a bit too spicy for me(i dig spicy), but damn did it taste good. burn lasts maybe 5 minutes :) all sauces are homemade.

if you need a beer they have a few good locals: triton, bier*, sun king. also some good lookin tea and lemonade.
