Erie-Lackawanna Trail - Summit St. Trailhead

Nice trail that goes to Kennedy. Has a nice bench area about a mile past this beginning trailhead called Swisher Park. Don't get droopy stay Snoopy.

This is a great warm-up trail for avid cyclers such as the wife and I. We enjoy this trail immensely as it has some hard inclines that make you work for it. It is paved which is not our preference as we're used to dirt or packed gravel with our 29er DS bikes, but not a bad ride to keep you warmed up in between longer trails. Highly recommend.

One of my fav trails in NW Indiana. Especially, because it's really accessible from Chicago

Beautiful trail. Mile markers along the way are spot on. I was able to do an enjoyable 6 miles on even pavement shared with other runners and bikes. All courteous people. Great run.

I came when it was snowed the day before. So happy to see that the trails were mostly clean. But when you get to Merrillville they do NOT clean there trail.

Nice paved trail for everyone from runners and bike riders to families walking with strollers. This trail is very well kept and maintained. It is relatively flat and not strenuous for a longer bike ride or run.

I consider this to be one of the premier paved biking trails in Northwest Indiana. Plenty of water fountains and restrooms along the way with some historical railroad related buildings.

Nice trailhead. Facilities, tools, pavilion with tables. Small parking lot. No need to park on the grass, plenty of on street parking. Still look sharp. It's nice to have restrooms here.

I love this part of the trail. For the most part, people take care of it and clean up after themselves and their animals. People are polite and respectful and do their best to share the trail. It's a good place for running, walking and biking.

It's a pretty paved trail. We passed a few people walking and a couple on bikes. Everyone was friendly.

Beautiful trail spanning more than 10 miles great for biking, running or walking the dogs ! Garbage cans spread throughout the trail as well as sitting areas.

Perfect for families, trails are perfectly paved and landscape all groomed. 16 miles and still had plenty of trails we didn't get to.

Beautiful place to take a stroll, walk your pup, jog, run, or ride a bike. Well maintained but not a lot of shade. There are places to rest.

Awesome paved trail to get in riding when the dirt trails are wet and muddy which they are. MTB riders need to respect the dirt trails and not ride there when wet.

Excellent, lovely, well-maintained paved trail. Maps along way show your location. Clearly delineated to show you are still on trail.

Loved this trail, crown point gets a little bumpy but they could always fix it. Plus it's worth the ride !

Great place to walk. Plenty of parking and trails. Get outside into the fresh air!

Crown Point Parks & Rec keeps their section of the Erie-Lackawanna trails PRISTINE same can't be said of Merrillville section😒
