Las Palmas Mexican Grill

Food was awesome I got the paella, drinks were tall. Prices were cheap and portions were big. My brother got the barrito amigo. Lots of room and comfortable booths to sit in steak plate for two for 18 dollars is awesome too.
Service was timely!

Las Palmas is an all around restaurant. They have the best service in town and their staff are very caring and friendly. They have the best Mexican food in town, and even their complimentary chips and salsa are honestly the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is very nice and perfect for a dinner or lunch with your family or some friends. Their prices are reasonable and the price for the portions they give is unbeatable. I have been a loyal Dos Reales fan throughout my time in the CU, but Las Palmas is slowly overtaking them for the best Mexican Restaurant in the area!

We took a chance on a new place and wow it did not disappoint! The food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. The owner was so friendly and took time to chat with us and welcome us to his establishment. We will definitely return.

this place was actually amazing. i loved the food and the workers were super nice, definitely would recommend. also whoever the waiter was the one we were always smiling at each other, hi if you see this, you were sweet too!

Our go to Mexican Restaurant. Food is always good on my end but my vegetarian partner has had issues. One time there was meat in the Vegetarian Taco salad and on a recent rip they brought a different dish than ordered, though still vegetarian. The first time they made it right and the second we did not say anything. Can be a tad slow when busy, but nothing egregious.

We ordered the molcajete. It is enormous and very tasty. More than enough for two people. At least three different people checked on us while we were eating and everything came out quickly.

EXCELLENT food, great friendly service; clean, friendly, spacious atmosphere, the list goes on! This is hands down my FAVORITE place to get grilled shrimp, rice, salad, salsa and chips! Ordered the guacamole, decent. Definitely think the queso was better. I got the Carnitas *a MUST try*. The pork was super tender and juicy, and crispy on the outside. Came with tortillas fried potato slivers and all the fixins. My GF got the chicken quesadilla smothered in queso which was also very tasty. Service was fast and friendly. Also had the "jumbo" margaritas which were decent.

I'm a regular visitor of this area and this restaurant is my fav. The staff are very, very friendly. The plates are huge and even me, a good eater, cannot manage this amount of food sometimes. The beer mug is a really good big mug, An exciting selection of tequila. The service is momentary. And the check is surprisingly low.
Highly recommended.

I've had a few dishes there and they are very awesome. The staff know me for the one I normally order, El Volcan! In my travels, other places have had this same dish. Although it was presented the same, ingredients were similar; it was NEVER the same flavor. This version is the one I ALWAYS come back to! It's definitely worth its price in quality and quantity. Tacos Locos, Playa Plate, Chicken on the Beach, doesn't matters...glorious!

It's also great to see and talk to the staff. Extremely friendly, professional and accommodating. Food comes out quickly and definitely fresh! Give them some love!

Visited Los Palmas for the first time today. The ambiance is fantastic and extremely clean. Service was great as well. We had the molcajete, which has an absolutely ton of food...but well worth it. Queso was perfect as well as the salsa. The only part of our meal I did not like as much was the guacamole, it looked and tasted like pre-made, tube guacamole. The mango margarita was very strong.

We had a wonderful meal. The service was prompt, and the food was exactly what we were looking for tonight! This will definitely go on our regular dine out rotation.

Dos Reales was the best Mexican place in Champaign for decades....until Las Palmas opened their doors. The service is about the same, the atmosphere is a bit better, and the food is way better. Dos has really gone downhill over the years, but this place knocks it out of the park. Best Mexican in town, bar none.
We'll see how long it takes them to rest on their laurels and get lazy/greedy like Dos did.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in town for the variety. Fajitas, Pollo El Rey, Chimichanga Fajitas, and the fajita taco salad are all great! All the burritos are good, and if you are with someone picky, just get them chicken (or steak) on the beach. They have fresh(not pickled) jalapenos, so add those to everything!

New restaurant to try in Champaign, we were very excited to try it and weren’t disappointed. $40 for 3 people and every dinner had generous portions! It was also delicious! The host that greeted us was very friendly and the restaurant looked clean, we ordered to go and were very happy with the entire experience and will definitely be back soon!

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant around! Every dish I've tried has been bursting with flavor. Make sure to get the salsa Verde!!!

Our waiter was excellent. Made recommendations and checked in with us throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we wanted. Food was excellent as always

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was great! We will be back.
