Dr Brooke is amazing at handling a challenging dog. Not only does she do what it best for the dog’s health, she makes the dog as comfortable as possible during the visit. She gives the best experience possible to both the dog and owner.

Dr Anna is absolutely amazing. She's so compassionate and caring for you and your fur babies. She has helped my little guy many times and my husband and I are truly grateful 🙏

Was recommended to this veterinarian hospital by a good friend, as we were looking for a facility that took appointments.
All we can say is, wow! This place is great! From the time we walked into the door, we and our boy Willy were treated with the utmost care and respect by the whole staff.
Dr. Clements was amazing with Willy. She answered all of our questions and was extremely thorough with her examination. I'm sure the extra treats Willy got did help some, lol.

The veterinary staff at McAfee is excellent. It is not necessary to specify a specific member. Today I met the newest member to their staff, Dr Bill Pals.
Dr Bill examined my dog, Frankie, He addressed each of Frankie's issues and explained clearly what was necessary. He was not alarming. He advised additional tests. He prescribed medication & requested I call him when prescription was completed so we could address its affectiveness.
Frankie and I look forward to revisiting Dr Bill. He was professional, but also friendly and funny. Frankie and I will be less anxious next time.

McAfee staff at reception, grooming and tech assistance are warm, professional, efficient and welcoming. We have trusted them to care for our family's pets for more than twenty years.

Our Miniature Schnauzer Jackson was attacked by another dog a few weeks ago. When this happened I immediately called McAfee’s to let them know I was bringing him in with injury’s. When we arrived they took him in to assess his injuries & came up with a plan for his recovery. Over his entire healing process they never hesitated to have us come in when we had concerns & they called us several times to follow up on his progress. Over this time we had 3 different doctors that always answered our questions & took great care of him. Thank you Drs. Brooke, Bill & Danielle. McAfee’s has been & always be our place to take our pets!

Doctor Dani, along with the staff, treated our Bailey as if she was theirs. If fact, they stated that they love our pup. How can one NOT appreciate that kind of professionalism.

Around 20 years ago, I began coming to McAfee to see Dr. Larry (the founder) for rabbit care. He was amazing, compassionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable. He always explained every detail of care plans in depth. He taught me so much about rabbit biology, care, and medical needs of my rabbits.
At time passed, I also began bringing my dogs to McAfee. I had seen many vets for various issues that charged for unneeded testing that yielded no helpful information for their care.
I decided it was time to make the drive to McAfee for my dogs as well. Dr. Steve had just become a partner, and Dr. Larry introduced us. He saw three of my dogs with problems no other vets could properly diagnose- and Dr. Steve promptly diagnosed them with ease. His treatments solved problems I had fought with for years. After trying unsuccessfully to get opinions from other veterinarians, I was astounded. I had spent thousands with other veterinarians who solved nothing, only to find a Dr. Steve who solved everything with honestly and ease. I was never charged for excessive, unnecessary testing. Since then my dogs always go to McAfee for problems that arise. I’ve never once been unhappy. The veterinarians who work there are all willing to discuss and network any unusual situations.
I’ve recommended them to many people who are pleasantly surprised that my positive regard is absolutely merited. These veterinarians care immensely for animals and will do all they can to help any animal.
I recently had my first experience taking a Guinea pig to see Dr. Danielle. We had an emergency. She was amazing with her compassion and dedication to these small creatures who many veterinarians do not understand or know how to treat. My son loves his Guinea pigs like most people love dogs and cats. She worked with us with complete understanding and compassion. She kept us up to date minute by minute with an anomalous situation. She consulted experts and reported back to is so we could make the best decisions for my son’s Guinea pig.
The situation is unique and she is more than willing to learn and help is devise a plan for care.

The vet techs know our animals personally. They are professional and personable. The office staff works their tails off to accommodate people and their pet’s needs.
The veterinarians are real people and can only see so many patients per day. If they can fit you in, they will. Always have an emergency vet in case they are slammed.

Best veterinary hospital ever.

I read the negative reviews. It can be hard to get a new pet in on an emergency basis to McAfee. That is true of almost any family vet. There are emergency vets for that. If you are looking for multiple compassionate veterinarians for all of your animals, this is the place. Dr Danielle is well studied on anatomy and new treatment options that are effective for intractable animal problems. Dr. Steve has always been exceptionally capable, to the point, and does exactly what is needed without unnecessary testing. The vet techs are kind and very professional, asking about your other animals. If you spend the time establishing a long term relationship with McAfee and their staff, you will be impressed at their care and competency. I could not ask for more!

McAfee. Where do I begin? Dr. Danielle Walker may be one of the most brilliant, compassionate people I have had the honor to know. She takes her time with my dogs, listens to my concerns and worries, thinks outside of the box and is ALWAYS there for us. When she has a day off and we need the assistance of McAfee, they find a way to help and schedule with another of their fabulous doctors (Dr. Anna, Dr. Brooke or Dr. Clements). McAfee Animal Hospital has been the best choice for the health of my fur babies. We feel very fortunate to have Dr. Dani and the team at McAfee.

We took our Great Dane to Mcafee from Chicago for gastropexy and neuter. Dr Steve Violanti was so amazing and made us feel so comfortable with everything that was being done, and I knew my big boy was in great hands..The staff and front desk are so kind and caring. There is nothing they wouldnt do when it comes to your pet. I highly recommend this establishment and would drive from Chicago again if need be.

McAfee came at the recommendation of a friend when we moved to the area recently. We are thankful for such a great animal hospital! The facilities are clean, and well-maintained. The staff is excellent all around. Strongly recommend to anyone looking for vet care in the area! Keep it up McAfee team! Your hard work and dedication shows and is so reassuring as a pet owner.

De. Walker has been taking care of Cedric since he was 8 weeks old. He’s now 7 months old and is doing amazing. The only time we had any concerns about Cedric’s health, Dr. Walker was readily available by phone to address any and all questions we had. His neutering also went so smoothly. McAfee has been taking care of my family’s dogs for decades and we’ve always been thrilled with our service. Cannot recommend this practice highly enough!

The warmth and care we feel from our vets, technicians and staff at MacAfee Animal Hospital gives us and Riley, our dog, great comfort. We are so grateful.

Since I was a child and showing horses McAfee animal hospital has proven they provide quality care for my pets. This recent experience was no different! The doctor was thorough, compassionate, and explained everything in detail to us. We took Paçoca to the emergency vet in Westville and their treatment didn’t improve Paçoca’s well being. The very next day after visiting McAfee Paçoca was no longer running a fever and up playing with the kitten, Cocada. Thank you for all you do to ensure exceptional service!

Wow!This place is awesome. I so glad we brought our baby here. He needed hernia surgery. The doctor explained everything and went above and beyond to bring our baby back to good health. All staff members are concerned about your animal s well being. I would highly recommend this place for your pet. We drove 75 miles round trip from Illinois and it was worth the price,visit. I give it 10 🌟 STARS

Awesome staff! We have been taking our dogs to McAfee Animal Hospital with Dr. Steve since 1998. Dr. Steve, Dr. Brooke and their staff have always provided compassionate and excellent care. Everyone is kind and professional and dedicated to the health of your pets :-)

Dr. McAfee is my favorite vet ever, and I have had quite a few dogs in my life. I'm not sure if he has retired- I have- but the compassion and caring he showed to me and my dogs will never be forgotten. He even came into the restaurant I worked at long ago and left a great tip that I could then apply to my bill. LOL. His practice had expanded quite a bit when I passed through Valparaiso in 1999. It looks like it is huge now! From reading other reviews, it seems as if his entire staff has followed his lead. Fantastic vet care!
