Ideal for short walks and picture-taking sessions. There used to be a real lake here, but it dried out due to volcanic activities.

The area is also popular for its flowers—especially the calla lilies.

Wander around and you can find cafes and restaurants.

This is a lovely place to take a walk. It’s a narrow mountain road area with a few restaurants that get very crowded very quickly. The parking is also very limited so it’s really the luck of the draw. We showed up around 10am and found a spot rather easily and then walked down the road and enjoyed the sights of mountains, sky, flower fields, and lush greenery. There were also a roadside fresh produce stands that sold vegetables and fruit at one and water lilies at the other.

A beautiful place in Yangmingshan filled with well-grown Calla Lilies!

Such lovely breezy weather and a great place to get away from the busy city of Taipei! Visitors can pick and buy fresh lilies here but an admission fee is required. Besides, the lovely scenery and tranquil surroundings are great for photography!

The best time to visit is in May, where you can see Calla lilies (some fields still have them in bloom) and hydrangeas in full Bloom. Take S9 from Beitou MRT Station, reach early to wait for the bus so that you get a seat.

This is a great seasonal activity north of taipei to visit farms of lilly and enjoy a day in nature. It might be a little bit hard to reach with public transportation but we used a taxi and it was 600 NT to get there from taipei HSR main station. One recommendation is to not trust the widely published map as it is more to make you go to certain farms but feel free to explore the whole area within the loop. There are lilies everywhere so don’t need to pay certain farms to go inside. I recommend this place! I also suggest this as a 1/2 day activity .

Quaint little town on Yangmingshan. Took S9 up here, it's the last stop. Some food stores open and cafes but the main attraction to me is the view and calming canals you can walk along. Not many tourists around too!

Always crowded but well worth it. Not enough parking space. Must order their chicken. And their chicken soup is life changing. Fried fish also good. Basil with calamari was exceptional. Long ago, they were popular serving sweet potatoes soup with ginger to climbers. Becareful with deep, heavy fog towards the top.

Zhuzihu May to June is the season to visit the Hydrangea flower gardens. Some gardens require admission fee of 100 to 150. Others also sell and allow flower picking for this price..

Has a small cafe that serves the best passionfruit tea and partner it with blueberry cheese cake. I think best time to go there is is the month of May.

A perfect place to soak in nature. The views are simply breathtaking especially when the callah lillies are in bloom.

This place definitely gets busy during this time period so you may want to try and visit during the week if possible. This place is accessible by bus.

There are local vendors along the road selling fruits, sweets, treats, and other goodies. Definitely check it out!

Good place to get away from city and close to the natural mountains and flowers. Besides, the food here are good and get to eat fresh vegetables, and the Japanese tea house is ex excellent , make you feel like in Japan

Every year, the flowers keep getting nicer and nicer. Although there is an entrance fee of 100, it is worth it. You can even pick flowers and take pictures from the other garden as well although they have separate entrance fee.
Make sure to bring disposable rain boots or wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy. You'll be going around in the garden and the ground can get really wet if there is rain the night before and even just from the sprinklers.
Also, make sure to put/bring sunscreen, hat/umbrella since it can get really hot up there.

Lovely place for amazing pictures. The scenery is amazing with beautiful flowers to make your day happy. But the downside is the traffic getting here and also finding a place to park your car. Parking is also expensive if you finally get one.But over all the environment and flowers are worth your visit.

Most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. If you're a tourist, try to fit it in your schedule. Once you reach up top- follow the crowd towards the mini resturant and walk the circular trail. Theres also a mini trail through the trees that leads you to the hydrangeas garden. If you want to get up close and personal, it costs 100NT. Honestly, its no need just pose and get the entire back ground. Just look below for pics. Clothes wise, bring a sweater, it does get humid with a small breeze since you're in a cloud.

Zhuzihu was a very nice place! If you want to escape the suffocating heat of Taipei, it is a good place to go (it is still hot but not as much as in Taipei). The flowers are great! It is also very easy to walk around and explore. HOWEVER, the bus from Beitou to Zhuzihu is an inferno because it is so packed with people... I think that taking the taxi might be better even though I don't know about the prices. On the way down you can stop at the sulfur valley in order to get the smelly egg experience in hydrothermal environment!

Zhuzihu Lake is located on the west side of Zhuzihu Station on Yangjin Road in the northern mountainous area of Beitou District, Taipei City.

It is a valley in Hutianli between Datun Mountain, Qixing Mountain and Xiaoguanyin Mountain. It is about 600 meters above sea level and covers Yangming Mountain.

In the national park, the cool climate and the suburban geographic location have become a professional production area for high-cold vegetables and flowers. It is one of the main sources of summer vegetables in the Greater Taipei area.
