Xinbeitou Historic Station

A nice exhibition space about the history of the Xinbeitou station.

The old building was restored very nice. Inside is interesting to see and you can collect ink stamp. Outside has stall selling souvenir and an old train for picture. Overall a nice stop in Beitou.

A stones throw away from Xinbeitou station. You just need to go down the steps and cross a small road and you're already there. It is an old wooden building made using the precise Japanese method of wood joining. Its worth a short visit if you're in the area already. Right outside is a hot spring for hands where you can dip your hand it -- when I went the water was all murky and gunky though 🙃

Xinbeitou Train Station has been a constant fixture of life in Taipei’s popular Hot Spring Resort. The history of the Xinbeitou Train Station is one that goes hand-in-hand with the construction of the popular hot springs resort in Beitou, and it is safe to say that if it weren’t for the station, the resort, which predates the station by only a couple of years, would never have achieved the success that it has over the past century.

Nice place to know the history of the area. Don't miss the hot springs!

Last time I went here, 3 months ago, under construction. This time I had a chance to visit here accidentally with my partner. I thought this is a good place telling you the history of this area and enjoy taking a tons of pictures. Also, I didn't forget to bring my stamp book to stamp for 2-3 pictures. Before leaving, I bought some tiny souvenirs as the donation to this place. This building is located next to MRT xinbeitou, opposite side. In addition, you can walk to have hundreds of local famous restaurant nearby and walk to the Thermal Valley next.

The former terminus of the TRA Xinbeitou line, which itself was a branch line of the TRA Tamsui line, both closed in 1988 and replaced by the current MRT Tamsui-Xinyi Line (Red Line).

The building itself is nicely renovated, railway related relics and gadgets can be bought inside. The exhibition in the preserved passenger car at the platform can give you a brief introduction to the local railway history.

The Beito historical such a lovely experience the ultimate architect and masterpiece of craftsmanship.

Interesting reads and sightseeing of Xinbeitou historic station!

Xinbeitou Historic Station is the only surviving 100-year-old station in Taipei. Built of wood, its major architectural features include carved wooden brackets under the eaves and the four round dormer windows, the last of which was offset when it was built during the expansion of the station body in 1937.
