Alishan Hotel

Some reviews criticized food and tableware, they may have confused this hotel with others whose name also start with "Alishan".
US$440 a night for what 豪華雙人房 is truly expensive, but a truly luxury hospitality from first step. Bathtub with a view, a deco-fireplace, excellent sound insulation, rooftop observation deck with breathtaking sunset and cloud sea.
It also includes buffet style of 4-star authentic dinner and breakfast, with very relax and comfortable seating, fine table china, excellent services. Did not see any paper/plastic cup/plate. That's the reason believe others had have mistaken this hotel with others.
It also has shuttle between bus center, train station and other stops.
Needless to say their service is awesome. After a 6-miles hiking, blister grew on my toe. A call to concierge, within 5 minutes they sent in a small sewing bag contains a needle, some saline, alcohol wipes and band aid, free of charge.

Very nice hotel with a great buffet-style restaurant. We ate so much there and everything was delicious. Our room was big and clean, and the minibar was fully stocked with included drinks and snacks. Will need to come back on a clearer week to see the sunset on the observation deck.

The reviews that many has provided are accurate. But I thought one thing that people missed is the Lobby’s lounge that have one of the most amazing bread and Alishan Coffee. It maybe pricey but it’s worth the price for the quality VS the cup noodle that many will be eating at 7-11 (it’s an interesting sight actually, when you reach Alishan transport hub, you see many people eating cup noodles)

The kids area had many toys to engage children and give parents a break. The location was very central and the rooms were nice, clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was also very good after a nice walk in the morning.

The hotel is in prime location compared to other hotels in the area. It’s deeper into the mountain where a lot of the trails start. The hotel has free shuttle that picks you up from the bus station and guest service area. The hotel staff is really nice and helpful. We told them it’s my daughter’s birthday and they prepared a little cake for her. Dinner was great. The manager told us the vegetables are all grown locally and it tasted super fresh and delicious. Our room was really clean and spacious. Overall, if you can splurge, I would definitely recommend staying at Alishan hotel.

Alishan Guest House never ceases to amaze. Each visit leaves an indelible impression, and my recent stay post-pandemic was no exception. The hotel has undergone significant changes, and it was evident in the myriad of improvements.

On this occasion, we were accommodated in one of the newly renovated rooms. The cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the space were second to none. What captivated us most was the expansive window offering a panoramic view of the lush forest beyond. The sight of verdant trees and the serenity they brought was truly a balm for the soul.

The breakfast offerings, already impressive in previous visits, have been further enhanced post-pandemic. The spread was diverse and delectable, much to the delight of my accompanying family members from Hong Kong. Their satisfaction score? A resounding 10 out of 10.

A special highlight of this trip was our endeavor to catch the sunrise. Luck was on our side, and we were treated to a breathtaking view, casting a golden hue upon the misty forested horizon. Such moments etch themselves in memory, and this journey was no exception.

In summary, Alishan Guest House has outdone itself yet again. The ambiance, service, and overall experience were unparalleled. We will undoubtedly return, seeking more such cherished moments. Highly recommended!

This is historic hotel inside National park. Hotel is privately own. They did great job preserving the hotel in the remote setting. Take 5 minute shuttle to get in and out to the nearby public parking and visiting center. We arrive at 5pm and were able to walk the trails nearby. We also join a walking hiking tour from Allishan Station. We did classic tour and see the major point of interests with two hours walk from 9am-11am. We have private car service and drove to Sun Moon Lake by 3:30pm and stop for lunch. We elect to pay for this hotel at $400 plus room rate that include breakfast buffet and dinner buffet. We spent a lot less in hotel in Sun Moon Lake. It is worth it in our opinion.

The room and environment is very nice. The breakfast and dinner provides a wide variety of choices and the hotel gives off a nice ambient.

Great hotel inside the park. The room is very spacious and the food is amazing (really amazing).

The only hotel that is within the National park. Even though the price is higher than other close by hotels, but it’s totally worth the extra money.

There are two part; the old and the new; the original side of the hotel was built in 1913 and still very well maintained. Though we stayed at the new hotel, you are still able to explore the old part, definitely take you back to the (end of) Japanese era of Taiwan.

Bare in mind, you’re high up in the mountains, the resources are limited, so don’t expect fancy food or accommodation. Saying that, great service, friendly staff and they have everything you’d need for a comfortable stay.

I’d definitely come back if I ever plan to visit Alisan in the future.

The hotel has a unbeatable location, literally everything is within walking distance. The hotel itself is a historical building with stories to tell, but both historic and new buildings are fully renovated, I think it's probably the best accommodation you could find in the Alishan area. The staff are super friendly to the kids, and very patient too, willing to actively solve or accommodate your requests. The food here can be further improved, but the 50's Cafe actually offers surprisingly good desserts and coffee.

This place is incredible. It’s been 3 years since we visited. It hasn’t changed a bit. Still with very nice staff and very breathtaking view. Buffet breakfast and dinner are among our favorites. My kids love it here. We WILL come back again the next time to come to Taiwan!

Good place, very convenient and luxury place. Recommended to stay here in Allishan

An excellent choice if you want to experience Alishan 360°. It's a bit further compared to the other hotels but you can get here the silence and the peaceful environment far from noises and pollution. They offer shuttle buses every 30 minutes to the train station. I found the cleaning of the rooms perfect, even for the stay the room was perfectly done with clothes folded on the bed and everything tidy up. You can't go wrong here for Alishan!

We were glad for the complimentary shuttle service between the bus terminal, the visitor center and the hotel. The front desk during check-in was great. Special shout-out to Jason and Risse. They were the most cordial, helpful and attentive of everyone at the front desk.
The hotel has a great location inside the park. We could start walking on any of the trails right from the hotel’s doorstep.
Dinner and breakfast were included in our package. Both were pretty good and had a wide selection of dishes. I personally loved the noodle station.
We also went up to the rooftop to enjoy the famous Alishan sunset in the sea of clouds. The scene was heavenly and unforgettable.
We also walked around the hotel and checked out the old photos on the walls of the historic wing of the hotel. We even had afternoon tea at the 1950s cafe. Great ambiance and fabulous afternoon tea experience!
Best part of all was our room. We had a perfect view of the sea of clouds during sunset while sipping Alishan tea.

This is the most expensive hotel yet the best in Alishan. Rooms are spacious, clean, well-maintained (even though it’s not a new hotel), and the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. There is a viewing platform at the top of the hotel providing amazing views of the sunset. The Cherry King and the best part of the cherry blossom boardwalk are just across the road. Dinner and Breakfast are Great. Lunch was a bit disappointing. Overall, the best choice when you are looking for a good stay in Alishan.
