It’s a pretty steep climb up to the viewpoint but it’s worth it! It’s popular for viewing sunset and sea of clouds but it depends on your luck as well because it might get too foggy and hard to see. But it’s still a great trail with a great view!

The Eryanping trail during winter is an absolutely marvel to walk. While the ambient temperature is about 9 degrees celcius you will not feel cold during the hike. You will be surrounded by tall, large impressive trees that have been around from 50 to 1000+ years.

Discover the serene beauty of the tea plantation trail – a perfect blend of tranquility and nature's splendor.

Suitable for all ages, this hike offers stunning panoramic views surround by lush greenery. Breathe in the crisp, clean air while strolling through the charming tea fields. A peaceful, rejuvenating escape.

Beautiful morning walk.
Clean toilet at the beginning of the trail.
Good path with stairs, however it could be slippery due to the wet floor, so please be careful.

Great free hike. Very scenic. Worth the time walking around. Warning the maps are tricky. Once you venture out of the inital steps by the 2nd pavilion on the top. It's a maze as they flip the map on you. There are not enough signs to point you to the right direction in the Tea and Mist trial. I called it the Tears and Misery trail due to getting lost going up and down the well kept stairs. Overall it was an adventurous hike with gorgeous views.

Beautiful scenery when mountain is not covered in cloud. Nothing much to say, you have to see pictures.
Difficult with public transportation, you should come here either with your car or scooter.
Or be ready for “just couple times a day” public transportation.
But that’s remote area, it is understandable.

We saw the most amazing sunset we have ever seen on the trail top. The amazing part is not the sun itself but layers of mountains rendered by the sun during the sunset. Many reviews mentioned the cloud but very few reviews talked about the sunset. I think this is one of the nicest spots to watch sunset.

Love this place although I didn’t experience the sunset vibes, but still it was a really good place to add on your bucket list in Taiwan. Travelled 2hours by motorcycle started from Tainan Shanhuas accessible road it was fun. Looking forward to get back here soon. 🍃🫶💕

Was here in morning and at 5pm. Saw 云海 twice in a day. Night view is even more spectacular as you can look into the setting sun, casting orange and purple glow. Also clean public toilet. If you are up to a hike, you can go up the trail for an even better view.

A very great place to hike, and it only takes about 1 hour or so for return. The view is great with fields of tea plantation and views of mountains. It's pity that the weather on the day we went there was not very sunny, and most of the scenery were covered with fog. Still, it's definitely a place I will visit again.

Our amazing BnB Sunsweet House told me to do Eryanping Trail as part of a 100-minute loop starting from 茶霧之道, which makes it easier as there are a lot of steps going up and down but not as many up this way - not too bad at all! Although normally for sunset, I got to the gazebo up 茶霧之道 for sunrise and it was absolutely breathtaking! There's a bus stop called Anding 鞍頂 after getting down from Eryanping. The tierd tea fields and layers of mountains like Chinese watercolor art make this an incredible walk.

Stunning views in this trail. Stairs all the way up, many places to rest.
There is a guy selling fresh cold tea in the middle of the way, he is so friendly and the tea is so refreshing.

Extraordinary view, easy, short and beautiful trail. It's on the road Alisha - Chiayi, so it definitely worth it to stop when you return from Alishan, especially for the sunset.

Absolutely beautiful spot to catch the sunset.
My pregnant wife did the climb with me and it only took us 35 minutes to reach the second pavilion. Much shorter and easier than what I had expected after reading all the other comments.

Try to get there an hour before sunset because it’s a popular spot for photographers who might set up their tripods at all the good spots.

It was not easy to hike all the way up but the view was breathtaking.

Nice trail. First bit is in bamboo forest and we saw MANY bamboo sprouts from the earth, so cute. The trail can connect to the village next to it and you can see terraces of tea trees on top of stone walls.

This trail is my recommendation. The view at the summit is amazing. You will see mountains and sea of clouds. It takes about 1 hour to hike to the summit. There are 2-3 rest places that you can sit and take a rest along the way to the summit. There are restrooms at the trail head, also a shop that you can grab some refreshments.

Not necessary go all the way to Alisan if you don’t like crowds. Worth spend a night in nearby B&B and have plenty of time to slow down your pace for this place.
Didn’t make it to the top, but am already contented seeing beautiful sunset although no sea cloud.
