Thank you Lydia so much for the great retreat!
We joined Origin Yoga for their one day signature retreat and loved it! The views from retreat center is amazing, food was tasty, classes were spectacular.

I particularly enjoyed meditation session with Master Chang and ocean therapy. Master Chang shared with us how meditation is important in our lives and how we should focus on our heart.
Ocean therapy reminds us of how small we are compared to the vastness of the ocean, reconnecting with nature is so therapeutic.

Sometimes life is so busy- we are always chasing after so many things, yet we forget to take care of our own well-being. This retreat definitely let me felt refreshed and loved. Thank you!

It was my first yoga retreat experience. On top of the wonderful yoga session, Lydia was so good at leading every part of the activity! The food was just incredibly amazing that I mark it the BEST vegetarian place in Taiwan. Chef Edward should totally open a restaurant! I would definitely come back with my friends and family again. ❤

This retreat center is very peaceful and relaxing. First its location is in a remote little beach town called Baishawan. Second the yoga classes are not intense and there is usually meditation after which helps calm the mind, if you don't know what you are doing (like me!). Just be mindful of the weather because Taiwan doesn't have central heating, so bring extra layers if going during colder months.
The food is amazing. I have been to Origin three time already and everything Chef Edward has served is delicious from black sesame spread to locally seasoned veggies to vegetarian remakes of Taiwan dishes to sesame sauce tofu to raw vegan cranberry cheese cake. They also make their own kombucha, apple-ginger flavor. I would go again just to eat the food!
Even though i do love my food, I will also mention Lydia really make you feel welcomed and tries to accommodate every individual during their stay. She is very sweet and creates a relaxing environment in the studio and by utilizing the beach for ocean therapy. She also loves sharing information about Taiwan and taking visitors to local tourist attractions, like hiking to waterfalls or just up a beautiful mountain, Buddhist temples, flower paths, and many more.

•An Inner Retreat in a Peaceful Sanctuary•

This gorgeous sanctuary in Baishawan is home to Origin Yoga and Wellness, a yoga retreat center set against the backdrop of South China Sea.
A peaceful stay that contemplate the quiet beauty of nature and retreat from the frenzied hustle and bustle of city life.

Origin Yoga & Wellness has given my mum and myself the opportunity to fully relax and connect with our body during our 5D4N retreat.
Our daily yoga and meditation session with Lydia focus on the power of yogic movement and mindful breath that truly rejuvenate both the body and mind.

Lydia is always ready to meet our request and made us feel like we were a part of the family.
I never thought a stranger whom I know less than a month ago has now become my friend/sister to me. All I can say is that she is such a beautiful soul inside and out.

The home-cooked food that Edward prepared was creative, healthy and fresh.I tried to curb my enthusiasm during each meal but to find myself overeating eventually. That's inevitable as every meal was cooked with love and simply so delicious.

In short, this is a great place for reflection and taking care of yourself. It is quiet but this is also the beauty of this sanctuary. What higher praise can I give but other than to say that I look forward to coming back again!

Owner and operator is the epitome of the meaning "dedicated to the art"; leaving the corporate world in Canada to pursue her passion in Yoga across the globe, receiving classic training in India, creating a studio on the shores of beautiful New Taipei City is just one of the many things to come here!

What she has created is a getaway for the mind and soul allowing ourselves to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, and for a moment just listen to our own body and minds.

My only complaint is I can't stay here forever.

I give her 9/10!

Lydia's retreat was incredibly relaxing, eye-opening and much needed stress reliever! I went there with my partner, both clueless and ignorant as to what we would expect out of it, and were completely mind-blown. From the yoga sessions, the amazing beach views, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, peace and quiet to even things like herb leaf reading. I can't recommend this enough! Even as a newbie yoga person like my partner, he enjoyed this tremendously. Anyone can and should join this, regardless of their experience or knowledge in yoga.

I love everything about this place! The yoga instructors are very knowledgeable and adapt the practice to your needs. The delicious and healthy meals are lovingly prepared with fresh local ingredients. Today's excursion to a local herb farm was a totally unique experience in fresh aromatherapy and customized tea making.
I'll be back for my fourth retreat very soon!

Simply amazing!!! :D Just came home from the half day retreat, I've been to many yoga places all around the world and this one is definitely on the top of my list because: (1) cozy atmosphere and the personal attention I received (2) unique location with ocean view!!! I could heard the sound of the waves while doing yoga (3) the owners, Lydia and Edward are two of the most genuine people I've ever met, I love their story and how they built up this place with an intention to do good for the world (part of the business proceed is donated to charity). Being an expat in Taipei, Origin felt like a home away from home, I left the retreat feeling both relaxed and refreshed. Can't wait to come back again and try their full day retreat next time!

Updated Review! 27/03/2019

Having just finished the Signature Weekend Retreat, I wished I could give more than 5 stars. I felt so relaxed throughout the retreat and pampered by the delicious vegetarian food and raw cheesecake. I love the holistic approach through incorporating breathing exercises, mindfulness, physical yoga, meditation, healthy eating and nature walks. Thank you Lydia, Edward and Valerie!!

Beautiful, serene and peaceful. Amazing location by the beach for yoga. Lydia is the ever smiling and most friendly yoga instructor. And the kombucha is delicious and a must try.

Origin Yoga and Wellness is such a special place. I came to visit from Canada to Lydia’s retreat. It was perfect! On top of the lovely yoga and meditation, the food was healthy and delicious, the excursions were better than expected, my session with Zen master was eye opening and then giving back with the beach clean up was such a nice touch. I was really able to let go of all worries, and get in touch with myself this trip. I left feeling healthier and stronger in both my body and mind. And don’t be fooled by the accommodations. It’s the epitome of not judging a book by its cover because inside is just wonderful. And did I mention the beach views?!?!!
I returned home from the retreat with such a full heart and light mind. It was exactly what I needed to move forward with the struggles in my life. I truly believe my experience here had something to do with my ability to make my dreams come true and become a mom (I got pregnant shortly after my return even when I was always told by drs my road to conception was going to be challenged). Thank you Lydia and Origin Wellness team for all you do. Hope to come back soon!

The half day yoga retreat is a must-try! On arrival, we were welcomed with hot tea and homemade muffins (they were delicious!!). The day consists of a wonderful yoga practice in the studio looking onto the beach, followed by meditation and a delicious vegetarian lunch... All in all a truly relaxing experience. Our group also decided to join the retreat staff to help clear the local beach (from washed up garbage), which was surprisingly fun and satisfying! Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. P.s. the studio is on the ground floor of an apartment building that looks partially abandoned, it's easy to drive right pass without noticing so keep an eye out for the blue walls!

My wife and I had a fantastic time here celebrating our anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed the nature and yoga and healing acitivies. Everything was thoughtfully planned and perfect. My wife also added an Ayurveda session which she thought was the best massage she's ever had! Thank you for making our trip so special.

After 3 weeks, l still feel energetically strong and uplifted. The 3 days' yoga retreat was a great experience.

Mindful yoga sessions, meditation, Kombucha tea, great view room, hot spring and dance night and journaling reflection. The body temple was cleansed, recharged, and rejuvenated.

Highly recommend: A great Pure Intention Yoga Retreat!

Authentic yoga like back home in India with very good veg food. Peaceful and serene atmosphere. I came here with my wife to join full day retreat and was not disappointed, recommend for all who loves yoga and health.

Taipei is full of wonders and this one is definitely worth a half day or whole day experience ! You will drink hot tea from India with their delicious muffin when you arrive. Afterwards, you would do yoga at second floor with view facing to the beach. The brightness of light enlightened you more than just physically but spiritually. Teacher introduced how meditation is important to our lives and the difficulties we will face, but once we try it, it will make a difference to our life. I think I will give it a try. During lunchtime, they prepared a healthy wholesome meal for us. I agree I feel lighter when I don't eat so much of meat. My mind gets more clear and my stomach also agrees with me more. Last but not least, we went to the beach across street to pick up some garbage on the beach. I feel sorry that some people litter and don't care about the earth, but I hope we could do our best to make the world a little better by contributing. Doing and helping something or someone other than ourselves really benefits us more than the act itself. Thanks for such a great experience. I will definitely go back again !
