Sanmin Wetland Park

Hello! We are "Yilan Memory Lane" project team. (designed as the graduation project by 3 international students from ITM class 2018, TKU)
We created an original walking route with scenic spots along Yilan's mountain side. Since the first location of our route is Sanmin Wetland Park (三民湿地公園), we would like to share the English information about the place.

Newly established in December 2020, the 2.25ha big Sanmin Wetland Park is constructed as a green oasis amidst Jiaoxi’s concrete jungle of busy roads and buildings.

Lying undisturbed to the south of Jiaoxi Township, the park provides wooden benches, a viewing platform, parking spaces and a paved, 1km long circular trail that guides visitors along the park. Here, you can see over 300 trees, bushes spanning an area of over one hectare, small ponds, green meadows and a 0.2ha big area where aquatic plants are thriving. This manmade wetland, which cost 18million NTD to build, has been designed to provide a green space for locals.

However, more importantly, it is also a way to decompose and filter pollutants through ecological self-purification methods. It is worth noting that most of the water in this park comes from the local wastewater produced by the residents of Sanmin Village. In this densely planted area, pollutants from the sewage are adsorbed and decomposed by aquatic plants such as sedge, water chestnut, water king fungus, cattail, and water lily which are all planted in the ponds. The absorption of nitrogen and phosphorus salts leads to the precipitation of water impurities, resulting in purified water with no foul smells at the final stage. After reaching a certain quality standard, the water is released into the nearby Linwei Stream and returns to nature. To the untrained eye, nothing here will make you suspect that the wetland is manmade, since the park has become part of nature and will continue to benefit local communities in the future.

As you can see, the mountainside area between Jiaoxi and Sicheng is filled with peaceful country roads and pretty fields. It is a meditative experience to walk around here and this part of Yilan is arguably one of our favourites, as the landscape from Yuanshan Township onwards has more of a rugged and wild atmosphere the further south you travel. Still, all of the areas along Yilan’s mountains are full of rural fun and shouldn’t be missed out on just because there are fewer facilities along the way.

很喜歡這種平實無華的休閒公園。無過多的人工設施，行走於步道穿梭於樹木與溪池之間，可達到心靈放鬆與運動健身之目地。
入口處的路邊有停車格可利用，但看不到廁所。

沒看到濕地，只看到草地跟池塘，人很少，走一走心情舒暢！

非常小眾的景點
公園雖不大
但在清晨.卻可以看到無敵的雲彩
環境非常乾淨.生態也很好
主要是少了人群.就能獨享美景

很美很幽靜的濕地公園，老少咸宜的好去處！

公園不大，可以散散步，累了很多椅子可以坐，種植很多植物，很舒服，特別是傍晚微風徐徐。

景色很美 規畫的不錯
但就少了一些公共設施 如停車場及廁所
不過還是給滿分 五顆星 環璄自然漂亮

風景不錯，可惜遮蔽物幾乎沒有，接近中午時去實在有點熱，小狗受不了。

很天然的地方，沒有太多的人工建設，也沒有人跡，不同的季節與不同的時間，有不同的美麗，是散步運動的好地方。

很不錯適合來散步，全家都可以很輕鬆走玩一圈

春寒料峭恣意漫遊在礁溪三民濕地公園，細雨過後清新怡人猶如騰雲仙境。慢步在平坦小徑上眺望遠山半掛山嵐彷彿半遮羞面探視在幽境閒晃的我，再加上近觀田畦水鏡倒影，感恩這遠離塵囂的淨土洗滌身心靈的清淨！值得一遊再遊！

枯水期比較沒有水，建議豐水期來比較美
