Houdongkeng Waterfall

Love this waterfall in yilan. You can trek this waterfall all the way to the top with reward of a huge fall at the end with endless unique landscape. The water is super clean too.

Worth a visit if you are nearby. We walked from the bus station, took around 30 minutes casual walking. We saw a group of monkeys on the way and the waterfall itself is nice. Not very large but you can take a steep set of stairs to go up and take some nice photos from there.

The entry to the trail is at 洪皇帝冰淇淋 directly south of the falls. You can take the steps to the top and there are many pools where you can stand and let the fish nibble on your feet.

Incredible view from the top. Water is nice and cold, natural fish spa included.

One of my favorite places in Yilan! Very nice waterfall with good views of Yilan with just a few stairs climbing!

It is a relaxing waterfall trail. There is no dedicated parking lot. You need to stop at the white line on the side of the road. There will be more space if you come earlier. If you don’t have it, just wait a bit. Because it takes a long time to climb up and then walk down, the speed of parking spaces is calculated. Quick, you can play in the water in summer. The stairs that go up are narrow and steep. It is not suitable for the elderly and children with mobility problems. The water is clear and the scenery is beautiful, which is great!

Beautiful waterfalls accessible via a safe and easy trail.

It was a little frightening to have to climb up such steep stairs, that were not only long but also far. However, the view is breathtaking, and the water is cooling and nice to soak your feet in after a climb to the top. There is also an intermediate section to say at if you are afraid to climb to the top.

This was a great waterfalls for views and for swimming too! Several distinct falls as you go up the river, and at least 3 spots where the pools are big and deep enough for taking a swim! Excellent for photos too!

Very beautiful scenic spot in Jiaoxi, which is not yet overdeveloped and retain much of its natural atmosphere.
There are stairs to go up, so be careful of yourself and pay attention to other visitors

My toddler loved it. Hike up to the waterfall is reasonable and not too demanding which makes it a perfect visiting spot for families with smaller kids.

Very nice place but it was crowded and some grandpas were fishing so no one could go inside the water.

Beautiful, tranquil little place, only about 5 minutes' walk from the road. Lots of fish in the pool which looks lovely to swim in.

Loved it. Hike up a little higher to the rock pools above the main pool. Less people and good for a relaxing soak and fish therapy.

Must visit it. So beautiful. Nature at it's best. Need to walk up and tone your leg muscles as well as burn calories.

The fish are adorable. Shy at first, but then it’s quite exhilarating. Good falls, lovely hike.
