新天山茶業Alishan Tea Homestay

We stayed here for two nights and it was the best decision! The owners went the extra mile to pick us up in bus stations so that we may hike the Shizhuo Trails and get to Alishan National Park conveniently. We appreciate it so much. The room was unexpectedly spacious and they provide complete toiletries. The toilet was clean and came with hot water. They have a tea bar downstairs where customers can do tea tasting and buy some to bring home. We had the best experience.

This place is a gem. The host speaks perfect English and helped us plan our activities in Alishan and also how to get around. The place is clean, spacious, and has good facilities. We did a tea tasting in their shop, which was delicious and informative. Highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Alishan.

stayed here with my family for 2 nights and it was a super lovely stay! Danny was so helpful throughout our whole stay, picked us up from the nearest bus station and also drove us to some delicious dinner spots each night🥰

the room was spacious and clean! plus point for their thick blankets hehe! but they provide 2 heaters in the room for extra warmth :) we even got to try their tea which was magnificent ♥

Perfect place to stay! Very kind en generous owners. They give you helpfull information about the area and are willing to bring you and pick you up from the bus station. And their tea is really nice!

A great location and helpful hosts. For English speaking tourists this place is great as they can help really help provide local information. The tea was also excellent.

Danny and Dora are amazing hosts. Both readily accessible and prompt to help and advise. Danny picked us up from the bus stop when we arrived . He also gave us useful tips and info on how to get about the huge expanse which is Alishan and even drove us to some trails and restaurant.
The guesthouse smells of fragrant tea when you walk in, the room was big , super clean and with all amenities including a screen tv with Netflix(teenage daughter travelling with!) The location is convenient - not far from Fuqihu (15 mins by bus) and surrounded by tea plantations with various trails to watch sunrise.
The village is small but Danny drove us to the convenience store nearby and to a restaurant. All the dishes he recommended were tasty and made with fresh produce! Staying there definitely enhanced our experience of this region. Thank you Danny and Dora!

We had the most wonderful stay here and highly recommend it! Dany and Dora were incredibly kind and welcoming and went out of their way to help us in every way possible. The room was very clean and as described. Great location and Dany and Dora were excellent at communicating with us before and during our trip. A wonderful stay with a real family feel, rather than just a bland hotel, which we loved! Thank you so much and we hope to visit again soon!!

I highly recommend the Alishan Tea Homestay. From the moment we arrived until check-out, it felt like we were at home, due to the kind and warm hospitality of the hosts. The hosts are a family, Dany, Dora, their children and grandparents. It was very warming for us to be able to interact with their family. The hosts made sure we knew where to park as well as always having a parking spot (being in the mountains there is not a lot of parking), they ensured we took safe roads when travelling in the area (the roads are quite daunting) and explained the areas to go to. During our stay, it was quite loud from some of the other guests, however it was also during Chinese New Year that we stayed, so this is understandable. The rooms were comfortable, well equipped, and clean!!! Additionally, their home-brewed tea is to die for - definitely need to try it. If we return to this area, we will be sure to stay here again. Helpful and knowledgeable about the area, things to do and to eat.
Their family-made tea is really good and so local! Even the tea tasting experience was extremely informative and pleasant.
The rooms are clean and spacious, and the location is close to all interesting sights of the Alishan area.

This place is awesome and comfy. The host is friendly and supportive. They also sell tasty tea, definitely should try it.

This place is run by young family with lot of experience from hospitality business and you can feel it by their natural handling of their guests and how they operate this place. The same house is also a family tea factory so if you want to experience true tea culture this is a place. If you are looking for fancy accomodation don’t bother. I came here because we wanted to experience local tea culture and we were extremely satisfied with the overall experience. The tea they produce is excellent.

Great place to stay with very friendly and hospitable hosts, Danny and Dora. They speak good English too, so no worries for non-Chinese speaking guests.

I travelled solo to Alishan by public transport. Danny and Dora graciously offered to pick me up from the Shi Zhuo （石棹） bus station on my first day and fetched me there on my last day. They also offered to fetch me to dinner places nearby as and when I needed transport. They gave me great tips and ideas on how to best spend my time at Alishan.

The hostel is also a tea house with its own tea plantation (which you can visit if you like) and selection of teas which you can sample. It was also amazing waking up to the wonderful fragrance of tea every morning.

Nice and clean room. Value for money!

We had a great time staying at the Teahouse. Dany and Dora were friendly and amazing hosts. We got upgraded to a larger room when we arrived and they gave us plenty of recommendations on what to do whenever we weren't visiting Alishan. We stayed Sun-Wed so there weren't many visitors in the area, and therefore Dany was offering to drive us around the nearby area and could pick us up after our hikes. We did some tea tasting at the Teahouse, afterwards Dany brewed a batch of tea for me while I was studying Chinese. Could not recommend this place enough. Thanks for the great stay!

The homestay is situated right on the main road up to Alishan, had comfortable rooms and delicious fresh breakfast. The best part, though, was the owners Dany and Dora who got in touch a few days before our stay with information regarding getting there and made arrangements accordingly. If you are going by public transport, they offer to pick you up too! Dora was extremely helpful and helped me book my bus tickets to Taipei as the website was in Chinese. We were happy with the location as we had our own car so it was easy to get to the restaurants and 7-11 about 5 minutes drive up from the homestay. Alishan forest recreation area was about a 30 minutes drive and Fenqihu and the beautiful tea and bamboo trails in Shizhou are 15-20 minutes by car.

Dany and Dora are exceptional homestay hosts, providing a friendly, knowledgable service that made our stay relaxing, enjoyable, and most of all, easy. This was important to us, as travellers who have no chinese language.

Dora picked us up from the bus stop and took us to a nearby walking/scenic spot, and hours later Dany picked us up and brought us to their home. They'd even carried our heavy bags upstairs!!

We had a tasting session of their teas, were dropped off and picked up in town so we could have an evening meal and a look around, and, when I left my Kindle behind, they organised for it to be couriered to our next hotel in Taipei at no charge. Nothing was too much trouble.

Although our room wasn't especially modern, it was super fresh and clean, and spacious, with comfy beds and a view from our window of the sunrise over those spectacular mountains.

We cannot overstate our appreciation for Dany and Dora's thoughtful and kind consideration during our visit to their homestay.

We enjoyed our stay in the homestay. The room was spacious, the freshly baked tea leaves made the air so good smelling. The breakfast was so tasty. Highly recommended!
